Go on SST replies 23rd dec Deerey “I smell a swann sized rat”
‘The only thing we do know from a reliable source SST that it was Ian and Simon moving the goalposts’
Not what he said is it. He said you can’t accuse Swann of moving the goal posts this time. It doesn’t say Ian and Simon were. Not difficult to read it properly is it?

‘Now, please just shut up. You’re a pain in the arse.’
That’s the level you’re at isn’t it? Tone it down. If you can’t discuss a point with someone who doesn’t agree with you without resorting to insults, you probably shouldn’t bother.

‘Deerey, what the hell are you going on about now ?’
Er, see below, then went on to say that the club couldn’t entertain more than one bid at once.
‘I’d rather they give it once last shot and if this doesn’t work then back away. All they’re doing is holding it up for the questionable todger flasher to acquire it.’
My point is, they’ve stepped aside now, so there shouldn’t be a problem should there? Not denying you wanted them to have their bid accepted at all. You made that clear.
They did give money while he was in charge.
Is that what SST said? Must have missed that.
I would agree with the nuclear option Bucks, but there are staff livelihoods to consider.
Apologies awaywego, you’re probably talking about Trust membership funds above. However, what about my point about half season tickets that you raised on another thread?

At least wonder goals and jobby will be happy now that the local consortium has stood aside and made way for people with the funds to buy the club. Shouldn’t be any problems now should there?
If you’re talking about fans buying half season tickets, that’s a bit contradictory given you always say it doesn’t matter who the club owner is. The funds will contribute to staff wages won’t they? That’s a good thing isn’t it?
Think you’re right there Cliff. Probably end up with 2 or 3 splinter clubs to add to App Frod and Bottesford.
Why anyone would criticise Simon, Ian and co for trying to save the club is beyond me. The reasons given so far are laughable.

Already getting the blame from predictable sources. More to follow from his royal a***ness and his few useful idiots on social media no doubt.
Not strange given who’s saying it.

The ‘decent thing’ awaywego would be to understand why the vast majority wanted them to buy the club and now their last bid has been rejected again, to just show some respect for the amount of time effort and money they invested. But no, everyone else has got it wrong haven’t they.
Trouble is BS you just don’t have bloody patience before you rush in.
Is this the right thread?
Not just the money. Take a look at how split Bury fans are on agreeing the how, what and where of a phoenix club. But then at least Iron fans are a good example of unity, so should be a doddle…

Agree with all your points Rich.
Leveraged buy out?
Out of business very soon I’m guessing.
Even if Hardy gets it, I’d guess.
If he accepts a bid from him, the club could be over anyway. Maybe just a matter of time.

If a Hardy consortium bid is accepted, I hope supporters applauding it will bother to find out exactly where the funds are coming from (I.e. is it real money or huge, interest crippling loans?). If it’s huge loans that don’t have a cat in hells chance of being paid off then I’d sooner the club started afresh and quit the slow death. But hey, we’ve no say in it have we.

Why are people thanking them?
Why don’t you understand why they are? Maybe ask yourself that if you’re so puzzled? Or they all wrong and you right? Rightyo!
Blimey, just checked when it was – 2000!
Completey uninteresting fact: When the forum first stated out (different name then), say 20 odd years ago, my poster name was The Grammar Checker. Got me thinking, does anyone else remember the shortlived ‘green campaign’? First match of the season I think away at Macc, and a poster was encouraging everyone to go clad in green (colour of away shirt). The Ref turned up with a white T-shirt with ‘green’ printed on it. Well, I laughed…

Not conscious? What planet are they on?!

Just to clarify, my post was referring to all club staff not just on field and back room support staff
Much of it depends on gates I assume? The clubs you mentioned SOS haven’t got a similar sized stadium, set up and gates to us. Oldham and Southend have similar sized staffing to us. I think a better comparison would be clubs with a similar average attendance and facilities. I would say Macc (level 8?) but I think they average around 4k don’t they? I know they boast of having a league 2 / National standard squad.
Has a favour been called in to try and force the hand of the local group? I believe a link exists between old style Notts County and The Iron.
Nothing would surprise me about the whole sorry saga tbh.
Probably fallen on deaf eyes aswell awaywego.
