Why have a few people started calling him Jimbob? Was he in The Waltons or Carter USM or something?
That sign that person’s holding up speaks volumes. ‘PTO’?!?!
I find it difficult to be generous or charitable to these people

Oh, the glamour!
Dembie-Ferris didn’t impress when he came on.

February 24, 2023 at 7:07 pm in reply to: There’s a proxy war in Ukraine, food stocks are being compromised, etc #256121‘The bits where they’re making mother, father, brother and sister gender neutral.’
Wasn’t aware of those. I’d agree, that’s needless. I’m not saying I think Dahl books could make kids bully per se. Not sure any one factor could. But I can see how some of the words and phrasing could be repeated. Tbh, it’s not a huge issue to me that they’ve been edited. Is all the hoo har from The Telegraph and prolific figures really justified?
February 24, 2023 at 6:43 pm in reply to: There’s a proxy war in Ukraine, food stocks are being compromised, etc #256119Some of the edits to Dahl make no sense and we should be wary of works being edited for personal taste.
Which edited bits make no sense to you Siderite? The ones I’ve seen, I don’t see a problem with them being changed. Some pretty nasty words and phrasing that I wouldn’t welcome young impressionable children picking up and repeating, particularly to other children. Bullying starts early at school, so do mental health issues associated with physical appearance in younger people. Also, it’s Roald Dahl’s books for children, not War and Peace. I don’t have an issue with it within reason. Also, I’m not aware the editing reason is ‘personal taste’.
The government are deliberately hiding these items to divert the public from analysing it’s support of a ‘proxy war’?

Unsupported, unsubstantiated inferences and conspiracy. Just comes across as ‘here’s what’s really going on!’ nonsense a teenager might come out with.
About half way in to the Harris interview episode. Been very civil so far and good to understand more about what he says and his reasons for it when they push back. However, getting a bit tense now they’re accusing him of being more charitable to right wingers / less charitable to the left and, thus, tribal. Have to say I’m finding his argument in defence quite flimsy and convenient
February 24, 2023 at 1:51 pm in reply to: There’s a proxy war in Ukraine, food stocks are being compromised, etc #256096Agree with that. What’s the problem with a few bits being edited to be more inclusive and stop certain children feeling bad about themselves?
What’s the subject title including the lamentable ‘proxy war’ trope got to do with it though?
Potential bad press in the latter too. Don’t wash your dirty laundry in public. That’s what Hilda Ogden used to say anyway…
Another theory is they’re silent because they can’t find à disparaging play on words for ‘John McDonnell’. All that intelligent intellectual stuff…
Have you asked Ena Sharples?
Not listened to that one yet. I did listen to the first short one on Sam Harris at the weekend (heard bits of that recording of him before). Really convincing that, according to him, 99% of his followers don’t understand him and to truly understand him they’d have to purchase his app! Brilliant! The lads did a good critique there, and hearing the start of the later interview they did with him, he seemed, understandably, unimpressed (‘you guys were shittin all over me’ – what an image!). At least he put himself forward to be interviewed – need to listen to the rest of it when I can find the time!
Given how many in the public sector are “working” from home I’d be surprised if this is updated within the next 12 months, quite frankly.
What’s this got to do with football? Save your Rees-Mogg lecture for non-football.

Listening to turnips is bad enough!
If you don’t know he’s been supporting the club for 70 years, you’re not a true Iron fan.
Can imagine a phone call went in to the Wrexham commentator after questioning the decision himself.
Worth a look. Agree with Dean on Foster too. He may have ballsed up for their second but don’t forget his other top class saves that kept us in the game.
Paul Mullin hits back at fans accusing him of diving to win penalty as Wrexham beat Scunthorpe

Where have a lot questions been answered?
Prefer early Status Quo
No
And surely Leavers can’t complain about no salad produce? They wanted Britain back. Deal with no salad till summer then, like the old days!
But plenty of aubergines in Aldi earlier. Leavers don’t want em. More for my curry!
