Not sure about that. Player I know transfered from a (pyramid) step 10 club to step 8 and is getting paid £800 a week. So, step 6, a key player on £1,500 (offered less wages now?) doesn’t seem to unrealistic.

Not a fan of Iron Hour – too much lad bantz and bonhomie for my likings but there’s clearly a big market for that type of thing so fair play to them. I think it’s appeal relies on warming to the presenters. Without that it feels a bit like overhearing some random blokes chatting about the Iron in the Priory. The Bru podcast offers more analysis and insight of on and off field matters, and whether you agree with the views offered or not (and I don’t always), it plays out professionally with respectful exchanges rather than a competition with people talking over each other. I thought the last episode discussing the plans to move the training / day to days ops and closing the academy was very important and spoke to a lot of supporters with big concerns about it as it seemed there was a large contingent happy for it all to go through. Looking forward to more frequent episodes and the special guests coming up.

We don’t know who is behind them. To claim it’s Grimsby fans or people causing trouble for their own enjoyment / people out to get Hilton is pure speculation and conspiratorial. Bury fans?? Do you really think Grimsby or Bury fans would go to those lengths setting up and deleting accounts with those sorts of threats over a sustained period just for a laugh? He’s long gone from trying to take over Bury. I bet most of them couldn’t give a rats arse about him now. I doubt we’ll ever know who is / was behind them. Either way, it’s not good. You also haven’t mentioned who was targeted – long standing, and fairly well know in some cases, Iron supporters critical of Hilton and asking a lot of questions. It’s important that people viewing this discussion who aren’t familiar with what was happening, see the fuller picture.

Did you not know about the house pic posting incident TJO? I don’t post on Twitter but do observe. A line was crossed, disgusting action. Along with accounts of other longstanding Iron fans closing as a consequence, it was noticeable how this forum was unusually quiet up to 48 hours after it happened. What kind of times are these?

Not sure his account vanished. He stopped posting early last week after the Twitter incident. A number of Twitter users, long standing Iron fans, have closed their accounts. So it would appear the perpetrator / s of the violent threats and house pic posting got their desired effect. Shutting some people up.
