If we had more transparent updates from DH and the occasional interview with an independent journalist that asks more new questions and skirt round the edges less, Insider’s leaks might be redundant.

It’s something and we should be bloody grateful it!

June 2, 2023 at 11:26 am in reply to: david pay day was yesterday why are staff still waiting for their money? #263624I think you’re barking up the wrong tree I-A. Just my opinion, nothings off the table these days. Bit like your single malts!

Everytime you write that I imagine Cloughie saying it.
Agree with that
‘Citeh Middle east owners. Whats right whats wrong?”
I think that’s a fair point. I wouldn’t want Newcastle’s owners if I was a supporter and it may well have pushed me away to support a local non league team. I’d like to have a better idea where the money that’s funding SUFC is coming from. At the moment it seems invisible due to the lack of filed accounts of owners businesses on Companies House (the usual go to, to understand these matters). Take Oldham’s owner, for example. We can easily check out and verify how he’s made his money and how that might well be funding the club. Some say, it doesn’t matter to them. Fine, I appreciate that, but it’s pretty important to me and I suspect many others.
‘The plan maybe to build two stands so the two years is possible’
Based on the sketch Hilton shared, it doesn’t look like that would be feasible. It’s an enclosed arena (apart from the top right corner being open, for some reason). Doesn’t look like build a stand as you go. Maybe there’s arena examples where that has happened previously?

It won’t be the end of the world playing elsewhere for a few years but it’s not ideal, particularly for those Iron supporters travelling in from the west, unless it’s Donny of course. If it’s Gainsborough, for many exiles, it will just add another 30mins there and 30 back.

That BS aside, yours and Siderite’s comments raise a good question about art v the artists sociopolitical Bents and outpourings. I can still listen to and appreciate the output of the Smiths and Floyd despite the stuff Waters and Morrisey come out with. Though it presents questioning and challenges I could do without.
Hopefully no Iron fans start mentioning Pink Floyd on Twitter Iron Age. One poor Twitter user chap who was critical of Mr Hilton recently was being matched to me, you and Siderite by one of those burner accounts purporting to be ‘mates with Dave’. If that doesn’t make much sense, don’t worry, it didn’t to me either. Though the second rate Colombo nature made me laugh.
Coincidentally, I was listening to Jon Savage speaking at a do the other week. He was less than complimentary about Waters from his recollections of him in the 70s when he decided the rest of the band weren’t necessary anymore 🤣
I’m sure eyes are being kept out Siderite ;)
The late Kurt Vonnegut is our new spiritual leader and our motto is ‘everything was beautiful and nothing hurt’ :)
Up the squatting burner account lovin Iron!!
Definitely reminds me of à Beatles song that:
‘You better run for your life while you can little girl; hide your head in the sand little girl; catch you with another man, that’s the end-ah, little girl!’
I’m not sure he does based on his track record but each to their own eh. Let’s see where it ends up bro ;)
This geezer on Twitter sez Swann has served an eviction notice. I wasn’t aware that had happened already. Anyone know if its true?
It is strange but we've become used to it Swann has remained silent & hasn't said anything about all of this apart from giving eviction notice!

June 1, 2023 at 8:01 pm in reply to: Yet another…’what have you been listening today?’ Thread #263554Agreed. Particularly with anything over 40%
No disrespect to your legal eagle friend Les, but wouldn’t they have had to have seen the agreement Messrs Swann and Hilton made to form a robust assessment?

June 1, 2023 at 6:11 pm in reply to: david pay day was yesterday why are staff still waiting for their money? #263542Ah, fair enough. Cheers Mick. I take it back, it’s not amateur hour after all, it’s an exceptionally smooth operation :)
June 1, 2023 at 5:35 pm in reply to: david pay day was yesterday why are staff still waiting for their money? #263538We must be shifting plenty of 50% off training gear to pay these wages.
Ha ha, we all know the money comes from…actually where does it come from? A magic money tree?
June 1, 2023 at 5:03 pm in reply to: Yet another…’what have you been listening today?’ Thread #263534I’m sure you have. There’s plenty of old timers still haven’t worked it out mind!
June 1, 2023 at 4:57 pm in reply to: david pay day was yesterday why are staff still waiting for their money? #263531Really? Call me cynical but that does sound a little amateurish after 3-4 months in. Can’t blame that on Swann surely?
