Did Ewing go off injured? Or just taking it easy?
Didn’t know you could get it today, if I have VPN on it tells me to switch it off, watched Morecambe v Altrincham and it was perfect yet I watched the Southend v York and Boston v Halifax games midweek and it kept getting a blank screen every 10 minutes, though better than our game at Tamworth when it kept freezing, I will still try to get my £99 worth for the season
Probably just need a better vpn mick should be able to get every game without issue with one.
A dodgy free one probably won’t cut it.Man U’s keeper was fouled, not confirmed by VRS which shows how cr4p VRS can be.
He was not fouled. He was very weak and took his eye off the ball.
He was quite blatently fouled
What Whitehall brings to this side is very very obvious.
If he hadn’t got injured and missed a good chunk at the end of last season we comfortably would’ve gone up as champions.
July 27, 2025 at 10:49 am in reply to: To Those Who’ve Been To Pre-Season Games – Name Your Starting Lineup. #307649Bit of a Maison Campbell faux-pas for their late consolation so the jury will still be out on who starts in goal.
The jury’s still out.
Would you rather get punched in the face or kicked in the balls?
What a choice we’ve got

Dunno if it means anything but on the skeg highlights names/squad numbers were on the shirts. Beck’s was blank. Not bothered making him one cos he’s on his way?
One way to get the fans behind the goalkeeper is to make the alternative unimaginably worse I suppose.

Shocker. It’s going to be a long season if Campbell’s not the man or he gets hurt.
I hope Butty’s confidence is very well placed.Putting aside whether or not the formation works and the problems of last year…
We’ve got 3 centre backs. And there isn’t another on the shopping list.
Judging by the GK signing even if there was in on the shopping list there’s not much left in the kitty. The PFA non contract 22 for their game at Port Vale on Saturday just popped onto my FB feed. Top of the list Hakeeb Adelekan! There are a few other notables in there and there must be a couple of GK’s who are worth considering. A challenge for those more knowledgeable than me to identify them from the list of names!
Angus Gunn is on the list but probably a bit out of our price range.
Jamal Blackman is the only other one who I recognise as a Gk he’s a bit more likely.
Olomola is on the list too.

Johnson, Simmonds and Shipstone all got another run last night.
Also added Bayliss who came on for Evans and Matthew’s who came on for Beestin.
Any ideas who they are?
Thought Chapman was looking like the one to fill this role. Reports seemed to be impressive but guess Butty didn’t see enough or preferred some first team experience.
Hopefully he’ll apply that to the keeper signing too.Johnson played the second half tonight. Any ideas?
Weve just spent a year worshipping an OK one, with at best ok distribution
That’s a wild take!
We went straight through on the way down why not on the way back up too?
30+ games every season since he left. And we’re playing 2 leagues lower.
You’re basing your opinion of his current capabilities on what? The fact that you watched 30 odd Salford games last year?
Or are you maybe making a lot of assumptions too?
Lund is much better physically than Clunan and much better defensively.
He’s a quality player all round.
We need someone to win the ball and control the midfield. He can do that. How can you say that without knowing what the 34yr old is actually able to offer ?. You’re basing his capabilities on what the version we had used to offer. This Lund will be nowhere near the version we once had.

Yeah we need someone in CM who can win the ball and break up play and Lund can do that for sure.
You don’t have to win the ball back by smashing people you can use your brain instead.Just googled him to see what he’s been up to and it lists his current team as Scunthorpe united.
Do they know something we don’t yet?
I’d love Lund back. Quality and experience. Yes please.
Keeper and midfield ball winner are the 2 that are mandatory now.
RB on loan would be nice. Rose would be perfect.
Young CB on loan also would be nice if Maxi leaves.Realistically after that I think we’re good.

Any chance Slocombe might come back to end his career here, released by Notts County don’t know if he’s got another club yet. Would he be any good? can we afford him? very experienced keeper
Don’t give anyone ideas!!
I’d rather play Mussey.
That would be a disaster.

Keeper is the big one now. We’ve got to get that right.
Not the brother no.
Looks like he’s had a few loans in and around this level.
Possibly Roberts replacement, hopefully Roberts competition.
Attacking wise is looking decent.
Keeper next please.
Not as bad luck as Ramon Calliste we signed on a free transfer from Man United. Think we were playing Brigg in a pre season friendly and was on the end of a terrible tackle. Ended up suffering a double leg break and soon had to retire.
Yeah we’ve had a few of them. Nigel Pepper and Kenny Milne both managed 2 games each I think?

Kid in goal for Chester yesterday looked promising.
On loan from wolves, on loan in northern prem first half of the season then recalled for a step up.
Maybe due another step up next yearWho is actually under contract for next season do we know for sure?
Public criticism/slating of players seldom has positive results in my experience.
I can’t believe he ever got another job after he sat his players down in the centre circle at half time and wagged his finger like a primary school teacher.
A clown playing up for the fans trying to divert attention from his failures onto the players.
Who’d want to play for him after that?
Surprised Cleveland hasn’t fought his way in here.
Was just about to bring him up. That promotion season is the highlight of my time and he was involved in over half the goals we scored easily.
Whitehall is in so assume Beck is playing as part of the back 5?
Or 2 upfront? But that seems unlikely.
