The new board have been more than open with the club’s situation. This just gives time for people to salivate who backed the wrong horse.

But as it’s here… be my guest

    Deserved winners.
I see your backstory on the manager’s family went in one ear and out the other on SUFG SF. Not surprised.

Hilton did a good job last year the players he brought in mainly didn’t have agents

Most probably couldn’t believe what they were offered. Why bring an agent?

Clubs bigger than SUFC have changed their badges because of 3rd party organisations using it.

I think the 70s badge, someone on SUFG wanted the club to bring it back and when they didn’t thought sod it i’m going to use it anyway.

Using the new badge, Grifter behaviour.

Friendly club, had some americans come in with daft ideas(watch out them lot down the A15..)but over that now.
Would prefer Crewe as they ended Doncaster’s season but may the best team win as they say.

So, based on comments from CMC, TJO and others (above) if we don’t get promoted in 24/25, Butler will have failed, and should expect the boot, right? No two ways about it, no question of stats, goals, unlucky penalties, or excuses about cash. It’s the “cruel reality of pro football”, and he will have to go, right??

Seeing as i’ve just pulled the list up, did these managers fail or succeed?

Robins – Yes in keeping us in L1.No in Driving us forward. YES
Alexander – Yes in getting us to the play offs. No in getting us up. NO
Daws – Bit short to say. But he got us to the play offs so YES.
Dawson – Like Daws short spell and it wasn’t great so NO.
McCall – Sorted the defence out, got us winning games. One of the worst decisions we’ve ever made to sack him. YES
Dawson(again) – Got us relegated enough said. NO
Hurst – Sent us nearer the relegation places than the promotion ones. Bored everyone to death. NO
Cox – Saved us from relegation with a crap budget. but was in charge for the Harrogate debacle. YES, but only just.
Hill – We were a shambles off the pitch but he didn’t do much to change it. NO
Dean – Open chequebook, couldn’t save us from relegation, couldn’t get us promoted. NO

If he goes to someone like Spalding or Stamford i wouldn’t be surprised if Posh pick him up in 18 months and sell him on a year or two later for a significant fee, Like Godden.

It seems Dean is being scapegoated for fans’ high hopes which were cruelly dashed at the last.

I don’t know what they’re smoking down Gurnell Street but it must be strong!
Maybe the reason for all the wailing and crying?

You have to be desperate for attention when:

Your media career is over before it started due to cost cutting
You back the first horse that comes along and it’s not the right one
Set up a platform to be all about you
Jump on the back of someone’s ideas – who you’d previously criticised
Try and be negative when the club you supposedly support is on an upward curve
Pick an argument with United fans who’ve been going 40/50/60 years

But then, you are Max Bell.

Is there any truth in the claim that he had a contract extension and had to be paid off? Not seen any evidence yet.

Well Bru and Iron Hour have brought out podcasts in the last week – might be something in there.

For those asking about Dean’s contract… again… from the Pboro local paper, his intial contract says it ran till June i make it.

    https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/football/emotional-farewell-to-peterborough-sports-from-jimmy-dean-as-he-discusses-the-privilege-of-managing-scunthorpe-united-4008000

So from what i can gather he was given a new one. wonder who authorised that…

Was expecting an outsider, but the positives.

    He knows the club
    He knows the players
    He’s been a manager before
He will have learnt under Russ at Farsley and whoever at Donny

Great player for us, Walsall and them up the A18. That Rushden game where he nearly got his hat trick!

    All the best Andy.

I did not want Jimmy Dean to be given a new contract for footballing reasons but this OP is crass beyond belief.

Is that the best we can do?
I thought we were done with Shysters at this club.
He’s been able to sign National league players this season and so far, they are mid table. They only get 350, or less, as they aren’t popular in Peterborough and it can’t sustain 2 clubs at a high level.
I live down this way and Peterborough people have a bit of front about them but this lad thinks his own poo doesn’t stink.
    He won’t last if appointed.

Doesn’t matter what the poll says.
He’s here for the start of next season.
As I’ve previously stated, he wouldn’t be my choice to lead us next season.

Could we have afforded to win the Final though?

As for fickle moaning supporters should we all go away quietly and all agree it was a good season with fast entertaining football and we were unlucky to go out on penalties?

And that is how we got to where we are…
Being told to shut up and get on with it, 2018-24… One person found out what was going on and was shouted down… by (i could write a list of names but honestly i’d be wasting my time)…

If he didn’t see through WHAM… then he’s not a good judge of character.

Disregard the Hilton stuff in and of itself, it’s just part of a bigger picture: Ego.

Elliott’s MO has always been to stand next to power, next to money, next to kudos, next to attention… whoever it is… as he’s smart enough to know standing in that spot make others assume he is powerful, monied and important himself.

Anyone else remember the arse-clenching cringe of him getting himself onto the team sheet of the Wembley 1999 side which re-formed for a charity match? One of the lowest moments at GP, imho.

Wasn’t he also a Swann supporter when it suited?

Think back to the ‘Elliott / Sharpe’ thing 18 months or so ago. It was Sharpe with the actual money!

He also turned up at Sligo Rovers, along with a well-known Scunny fan, when they won the League of Ireland. Ian Baraclough was the manager and SE involved in local VW Dealership Colooney’s. That partnership didn’t last long.

He’s used his own platform to criticise supporters sceptical of the last two Chairmen.

    So there we are.

Didn’t he do the darts night? I heard the other directors are putting money and keep funding whilst Elliott plays at being the commercial guy.

We have an employee for that, his name is Glyn Sparks.
