Not hitting the panic button yet but I expected some more signings this week. Need to get lads in and up to speed, especially attack minded players.

We can’t afford to be scrambling around once the season has started; I understand the budget is low but it is what it is and we have to adapt.

One of the things that pissed me off the most was that he kept highlighting the fact we don’t have enough supporters to be competitive in league one and might even struggle in league two on sub 3k gates.

We have not averaged under 3k since 1997- since then we have only averaged under 3,500 only once. This is not the norm Peter you delusional moron. You have alienated nearly 1,000 supporters through rapid budget slashing, a complete lack of competence, and abysmal PR.

Crowds between 3.5k- 4K should be able to sustainably support a club in the 4th division long term- which it has done for the best part of 72 years.

Just can’t believe it until it happens.

Was a complete disaster of an interview by Swann earlier- I don’t know what to believe anymore. There were So many contradictions and riddles.

Would love for him to take some accountability and own the shit show he has orchestrated.

However, we know the make up of the man now so don’t expect nothing else but riddles, excuses and deflection.

Rowe has never been a centre back nor a centre mid. He can get away with being a right back but even then his positioning let’s him down- luckily this can sorted with good coaching and playing with an experienced centre half.

Not overly fussed with the result but we are stick lacking in areas all of over the pitch. Got to get at least 5 in before Yeovil.

The Scunthorpe fans Facebook page has stated a potential takeover has been quashed due to Swann wanting to keep hold of shares so that Coolsilk still have access to the land.

No idea how true it is.

Like myself, most will be waiting on a Potential sale.

If the rumours are true and he sells a majority stake, then I reckon we will shift another 500 before the start of the season. Possibly more if the ‘feel good’ factor continues with a couple of Butterfield Esque signings.

They just needed a nudge Cliff. Butterfield in. Based on Saturday he still has it.

On paper, this is a quality signing.

Lets get some strikers in now.

Still desperately need a signing or two this week.

The Squad is desperately thin and we have 1 recognised striker. Hopefully the news on Wednesday may prove a catalyst for getting some bodies through the door.

Don’t bother with pre season games but good to see so many positive comments online about the performance.

Sounds like Daniel is not a left back and Impressed with his performance.

Definitely some form of feel good factor around the club with the new kit launch and todays match, need to start building momentum now and carry it through to the start of the season.

Good to see Simon Elliot involved with the sponsorship too.

Not really thrilled with Nthle- can’t even remember hardly any games he played in- but he might have found his level of he can stay fit.

Pleased we’ve got a goalkeeper in. Couple of years of non league experience will have done no harm too.

We’ve not had much success recently but I’d put that much more down to what’s going on at the club rather than the quality of the players we bringing in.

Don’t understand why we are not utilising the loan market. We should have been knocking on the door of the Yorkshire clubs back in may trying to get players through the door.

I remember reading an article a while ago about Lincoln’s staff attending larger clubs with a slick PowerPoint presentation detailing how the could develop future talent in a bid to get clubs to loan them higher quality players.

Good to see another player finally through the doors. Looks the pick of the bunch out of the trialists so hopefully we can get a good run of games out him.

Desperately need to some more bodies in during the next week though. A goalkeeper especially.

Writing is on the wall for relegation already.

We must have a set budget that still has room for signings. If we do, then why aren’t we doing business earlier ? Realistically we’ve been down since April so why wasn’t we getting a squad ready then.

Not buying Keith’s bullshit excuses on Humberside either, clubs paying less than us are getting signings through the door.

    Garbage fixture list.

Thought they usually kept the closest games on a Saturday to allow clubs to maximise revenue. The difference between Halifax on a Tuesday rather a Saturday could be potentially 1,000 fans.

Most northern games on a Tuesday night is ridiculous and takes away what little joy we might have this year.

Grimsby are riding the Lady Luck train to promotion! If it wasn’t for a stupid push on one of there players by a notts county player with 20 seconds to go in the game on Monday they would be sat at home in fishyville by now.

Sorry but there’s nothing lucky about it. They’ve played some good stuff and deserved to go through both ties.

We are in serious trouble if that’s the standard we are up against

If the nucleus of our team next year are these youngsters then we are going down again.

    Simple as that.

Personally I think this has been his ‘coming out’ year as a goalkeeper and he’s improved all areas of his game.

Deserves another crack at league football but I’d be surprised if he ended up in league one

Was there any risk of any violence in an on-pitch protest? I would say no. I didn’t see any pepper spray used, was that after the game?

Think there were a couple of occasions it was used during the game and definitely a couple of times afterwards.

The lads at the front were 9 stone wet through, all it would’ve took is a couple of police with the stewards to clear the front before it became too overcrowded.

Would an FA fine for a pitch invasion have been higher than the police bill we’ll get for having seemingly more police in attendance than fans on Saturday?

I’ve never seen anything like it.
A complete over reaction by the club and the police which seemed to antagonise supporters more than deter them.

There were lads at the front who were after causing trouble and getting on the pitch- no denying that- however, what happened to some good old communication and the stewards at least trying to clear the front of the stand before deploying pepper spray.

Disgusting scenes which put the icing on the cake of a truly miserable experience this season.

Those having a go make it easier for him to miss than score. It is called psychological pressure.
(Incidentally, the word ‘supporter’ means one who proffers help or support.)
Maybe that pressure increases in direct proportion to the criticism levels. Who’d have thought that to be possible?

I’ve said it before – there’s only one player in my history I’ve insulted – and that was because he visibly wasted his many talents.

But then – as Nuttall is so despised perhaps he missed them all deliberately!
(See. I can get just as daft as others can on this board.)

His display yesterday was completely inept, Les. He hardly had supporters on his back when he nearly Cleared the roof of the away end, or when he spent most of the game in the wrong position or unable to hold the ball up- As he has done since January

He got a little bit of stick and responded like a moron. Its one thing watching wage thieves like this week in/week out at the club- it’s another when they give you the middle finger and come back out to goad supporters

Never seen anything like it and never want to see him in the shirt again.

To be fair to Nuttall I have never heard so much abuse given to one of our players like that before so can understand his reaction, but whether that was before the finger or after I have no idea.

Give over Mick. The abuse was all given after he gave the finger because there were a few groans in the crowd when messed up ANOTHER chance.

I was glad the crowd made their feelings known and forced him off the pitch

He came on the pitch afterwards and was responding with fans to meet in the car park. Complete lack of professionalism- show him the door.

    1. Swann puts his ego to one side and continues to find the club until a suitable buyer is found. Keith has a stormer in the transfer market, the young lads come good and we finish top half. The pies are plentiful , the iron bar is over staffed with pints poured to perfection, the stewards decide they are only paid £20 a game so what’s the point in harassing fans and the club actually release a statement that doesn’t end up pissing half the fan base off.

    2. Liquidation

    3. Recruitment continues to be a shambles. We limp on with players refusing to play/ bad attitudes etc and young lads getting thrown to the wolves. Bills get missed and we eventually enter admin with a points deduction. Relegation to the National league North.

Another Monday gone and still no announcement about any interested parties taking over !

I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

I honestly cannot see past administration within in the next year as no-one is going to meet the valuation of the club.

The only scenario I can imagine where we stand a chance is if Swann transfers the assets back in the near future, and we all know what the chances of that are.

Not very well I would imagine and with Swann saying he doesn’t or can’t put any more money in,administration could be forthcoming.

    This.

I can’t see a takeover forthcoming whilst the ground remains in Coolsilk hands.

We are currently operating at a loss which will only last for so long now.

    Can’t remember the game…

Steve torpey in front on the DRE, cross comes in, open goal from about 3 yards out and somehow managed to head it into the ground and Miss. Might have even gone over the bar.

Sorry Les- I can’t share your optimism.

It’s unfair to place the blame on the young uns stepping in- and by rights they should be playing at their own level- but apart from a few nice passages of play on Saturday they have been wholly inadequate; along with the rest of the team.

Moore-billam did well on Saturday but we are scraping the barrel to find any positives from this season. No-one looks like they could change a game.

We’ve sent a conveyor belt of young uns to Frickley, Scarborough, Guisley etc over the years and no-one seems to have been a stand out performer (happy to be corrected)

If we set up with these lads as the nucleus of our team next year I’m pretty confident we will be there or there abouts in the relegation spots.
