Can’t disagree with that Ironawe. In possession we look a cut above, great movement on and off the ball, didn’t force the chances and we got that bit of luck missing from Saturday.

Really pleased to see Whitehall bag 2 after Saturday- the free kick was superb. Clunan and Denton impressed also.

Good to see the subs have an impact; Elliot looks sharp and when he gets that first goal I expect more to follow.

Crowd were in terrific voice all game, including the Darlo fans before they fell behind. 3,400 on a Tuesday night is a great effort all round

We only have 2 forwards on the books, I can’t see us playing them together.

Whitehall had a bad day at the office but I don’t think he’s a bad player However, Elliot for me is the key man, Dean has got to set the team up to create chances for Elliot; he’s a proven goal scorer at this level.

Apparently forums were shit stirring about the SAG limiting capacity, then yesterday supporters are being refused entry to the DRE.

This is then being spun as a conspiracy against Hilton. For the record, it’s not a conspiracy, and supporters are well within their rights to discuss it.

It’s improbable, but not impossible that we win our next couple of games and the gate for Scarborough at home exceeds 4,000+. What happens then?

    Strange game to summarise.

Crowd were bang up for it at kick off and we started fast out the blocks. First 20 minutes we played some tidy football and the play leading to the penalty was excellent. We score that and it’s finishing 3/4, Sports looked nervous and couldn’t settle.

Unfortunately we couldn’t capitalise and once Sports settled and went deeper, the 4-3-3 began to look less effective.

Second half: beautiful strike from Butterfield, we should have really kicked on but we were just not clinical enough. Too many touches in the opposition 18 yard box and too reluctant to pull the trigger. It was inevitable Sports would make us pay.

Felt like a defeat at full time eventhough in reality we’ve dominated large periods of the game and played some nice football. The expectation of the supporters in the ground was palpable, you could feel we expected to blow the Turbine’s away. The players are going to have to learn to deal with the pressure.

MOTM- Scales. Thought he looked class for the level. Denton and the keeper looked solid too.

Pitch was a joke. Grass left too long and the lines were all over the place.

It would Be bizarre if Wilson was shipped out. Good pre season and started last week?

Dean did say in his interview a couple of players are already knocking on the door asking to play elsewhere. No surprise there.

3,500-3,800. A 4K plus crowd in years gone by when the away team brought more than 30 fans.

The ‘missing 1000’ returned once Swann left, and despite our abysmal form we managed to average 3.5k post takeover. The challenge, as it always has been with Scunthorpe, is whether the club can attract the casual supporters once we hit the 4,000 mark.

The plan I believe was to turn over the wage bill ratio to favour the playing squad rather than other staff, so you’ve answered your own question in a way. Sorry Ferrite I was replying to your question but AA jumped in first.

That’s fair but if we’re immediately loaning him out, I’m not sure what the cost/benefit is? It feels at best a luxury that I would not have thought we could really allow ourselves at the moment.

Plays right back/centre back. Offers cover in both positions. Can justify that signing.

But he won’t be here until Christmas…

As I said, he broke his leg in November and will be more than likely loaned out to get minutes in. If Ogle or a centre back get injured, we have a player returning who is at least relatively match fit.

I can understand the Barrows loan; broke his leg in November and needs the minutes, highly unlikely to displace Ogle either.

So why did we sign him in the first place, given we’ve apparently got very little money and are cutting staff costs left, right & centre?

It’s the abundance of midfielders that baffle me. How many minutes are Pugh, Robertson, Wallace getting this year ?

I like an edge to the atmosphere but We need to be careful with behaviour inside the ground, going on the pitch is a big no no and teams/authorities will soon start putting restrictions on us. I saw someone throw a beer in the direction of our own GK which was stupidity and he was rightly pissed off.

Only seemed to be a dozen or so Tamworth fans out to create a name for themselves, we were in a couple of pubs down the road packed full of Scunny fans and there was no bother. I’m sure the pubs appreciated the custom.

Horses for courses; worked well pre season but yesterday we should have changed early.

Think we need to look at training on 4g more too, the ball ran horribly on the pitch yesterday and we didn’t look comfortable.

Can’t believe number 19 is still playing. Clearly not lifted a finger pre season and looked to be towing a caravan all game.

Need to be ruthless against players like that and stick 2 up top and hit the channels.

    No mercy

Reality check for many people today. Awful first half performance, no idea how we equalised but it couldn’t have come at a better time.

2nd half slightly better, good subs from Dean to change the game. 100% we lose that game during the last few years.

Psychologically it will do us the world of good, move on now to the 2 home games.

If it is true, I’d blame whoever holds the responsibility for ensuring the standards are met. Stadium manager?

Not sure why it isn’t in print Awayswego, then again neither was the rumours about the ground, the training ground being moved or the academy being shut, all turned out to be true.

My cards on the table: I really want it to work out with Hilton, our future is tied with how deep his pockets are and whether he has the will to turn this club around.

Once more, Siderite, the club announced where the SAG inspection would affect the fans on the 21st of July. Why would people expect them to announce something more 15 days later?

Probably because it’s come to light they were looking to impose capacity restrictions on us. I’ve heard it from more than one source myself. I’d presume the club has time to rectify the issues and prevent anything happening prior to the 12th.

    ian wants his money back

I know. Firstly, does he have a leg to stand on in a legal aspect?

Secondly, if he does, can a loan be converted to shares with the option of extra investment if both parties were amicable

Think the Neil Wright experiment showed why it won’t work; supporters want transparency and that’s in direct conflict with the boards role. Have meetings with fan’s groups by all means though.

Good to see another member appointed, especially from the local area.

York wasn’t a sell out, Still had a couple of hundred left in the side stand.

We sold everything Notts gave us, around 1750.
