There must be a reason that Scunny get so many injured players, we keep saying that players are keen to get away from the club, and just don’t want to play for Scunny. Has anyone got the thoughts that the reason for all these injured players at our club ius, because they are all giving 120% throughout matches and that their limbs cannot take such stress???
NO I THOUGHT NOT!!!
That is a load of tripe Uptheiron99, we are paying customers, just like if yourself WAS going into the same eatery week after week, year after year, and then for a lengthy period of time the food BECAME tastless and cold, and you are no longer enjoying it any longer, what would you do??, just eat it and accept that the food was continually terrible and not worth eating, or after complaining many times that what is being served to you is rubbish, would you continue attending the same earery???
NO ONE MOANS WITHOUT REASON, IF AFTER THE SAME COMPLAINTS FROM MOST SUPPORTERS FALL ON DEAF EARS, AND THE MANAGEMENT CONTINUE TO TELL YOU THAT WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE A LEAGUE TWO FOOTBALL TEAM, NO MATTER HOW BAD THEY ARE, THEY ARE WRONG BY TELLING PAYING CUSTOMERS THIS.

I think that when Mr Swann stated that he had many reasons to turn his back on the club, but hadn’t done so, which sounded as if the supporter had no real reason to say that, and should stick with them.
I think that when Mr Swann stated that he had done all that he possibly could for the club, was not what fans wanted to hear, the one thing that he could do was invite Cox into his office and INSTRUCT him to get the team to entertain the fans now that we are safe, and to shelve this one up front defensive rubbish that he has instilled into the team.

I feel that we have enough points already Mick, I cannot see either Southend of Grimsby catching us, simply because they are collecting just the one point max from their games, and the way Colchester are playing, there is a chance that one of the bottom two will catch them, but with just two teams being relegated, there is very, very little chance of two of them catching us.
I appreciate your comments on how pathetic Scunny are Mick, but even that shower will be able to get a couple of drawn out of the remaining 8 matches, a win is probably beyond them, simply because the team need to score a goal to win a match, and that seems very unlikely.Cox wants that bloody playing system and one up front stuffing right up his arse, and get himself back to Notts County in the National League where he belongs, a new manager might just bring a bit of attacking football back for our long suffering supporters.
Hi guys, I have had a couple of Bru / Scunny fans call me today suggesting that I am the ‘old codger’ that cropped up on the Mr Swann interview on Tuesday, I think that this is not the case, because I have been attending Scunny’s matches since 1951 (not1949), and I think the age of 90 was stated, I wish the fan the best, but I will be 80 in two weeks time, so a bit to go to catch up!!!, maybe it was supposed to be me, with a couple of errors being made ha ha!
I also have stated on here that I shall not be renewing my long term season ticket, even though I have some good friends that sit near me, it is simply because I am not enjoying what is being servedup up on the field, and with this bloody 5-4-1 system that has been adopted at GP, what’s the point of going!!!! This does not men that I will not atten any matches, but that I will select an odd game, just because The Iron are in my blood, but good luck to any season ticket holder that does renew their tickets, and I wish them and the club all the best.

Wootton and Hopper were far better players than Loft, Hippolyte, Green, Jarvis, Mooney or Olomola, but with Cox as manager nothing will ever change, he is 100% defensivly minded and supporters will drift away from watching his style of boring rubbish. We average abouty 2 or if we are lucky 3 shots on target per 95 min game, and about 3.25 mins actually in the other teams third of the pitch, so keep supporting Co and you will have two reasons to point to regarding loss of fans, Corvid-19 and your manager, you seem blind to the fact that the team is set up entirely wrong, and is void of entertainment and enjoyment, armant supporters can take this for only so long, and that time has surely arrived. It’s fine Swann saying he wants supporters to keep with the club, but they have to offer a little in order for this to happen. You may think that I am moaning too much, but are there any fans that are enjoying what is being served up on the pitch????
Here goes with the grim task of trying to look on the bright side for another matcj summary.
WATSON—6—Did what he could and no fault with either goal made one fantastic point blank save.
HOWE–6–He is getting better with ga,e time. works well with Gilliead.
BEDEAU—6—Defended well. but lacks height for corners were we are very vunerable.
CLARKE—5—Two bad toughes which went unpunished, Onariasse badly missed.
O’MALLEY—7—I like him playing, up against a really fast winger, but stuck with him.
BEESTIN—6—Not able to support forward play because of Carlisle constant attack.
GREEN—5—Did nothing again before being injured.
KARACAN–8—Probably my MOM, see his class in him.
SPENCE–6–Played ok, but no support for our inapt front.
GILLIEAD–7—A few good runs, but head dropped after 0-2 down, nothing up front again.
LOFT—4—The young guy gets worse, no ball control, poor passer and no support from anywhere.EISA–5—He should be playing better than this, whats gone wrong??
MCTEE–5—Also has given up, poor team system and no one is really bothered in Scunny.REF—8—Did very well and kept it going where possible, a first year ref is not narmally as good as this guy, and they are normally whistle happy.
COX—4—When will this guy give up with his one up front rubbish, and try attacking for a change, and for fans watching to get a scrap of enjoyment and entertainment out of our matches.
Cox has knocked all fun out of supporting the team, we are well safe in the league, but still will not let the team play a bi of attacking football, his systems have ruined any fun out of watching.
Sad report, but what can we say after getting overrun, and it should have been 5-0 with the chances they missed. Two shots though they were both on target in 94 minutes.
That is better than last week Mick, thus one up front doesn;t appear to be working tonight, maybe it is because it is a new sytem for Scunny!!!!
After the match, Swanny is putting all the club problems to the Corona 19 virus, I wasn;t aware that any of our players had actually had the virus, I can understand the finacial side of things being very badly effected, but on the field it is the players and mnagement that have that task, for the record, does the virus only effect Scunthorpe. there was me thinking that rules where in place throughout the country!!!
Awaywego—–If playersare not going to be kept on at the end of the season, or going to be offered contracts with the salary being slashed, they do not want tellingthis imfo with ten or twelve games remaining. Uf you were in their position, would you be happy and giving your best, because there are a lot of players that will not bein that group.
Who in their rightmind would employ a squad of about 35 players and naybe 15 youngsters, this being for a team in League Two, same as being stated on here, a squad of about 20 better class of players rather that 35 with 15 or more not good enough, we are saying that we have players not trying, but are they capable of doing any better, we watch Loft, and he cannot even control a ball. Hippolyte cannot even pass a ball, and Greem only touches a ball for about two mins per game, Turan does not even need a ball, and we have our normal squad of about eight long term or regular injured players in the club, so what chance is there of turning out an entertaining team. Added to this the manager plays a system where we never get above three shot on target in 90 mins, and one up front even against very poor teams, and all we get is “well he did not get a good squad handed to him, Christ he has been here all season and we are playing his style of shite, and it appears to be getting worse, he moans at the team after games, but it is him that is selecting the players, and told to play his pormation, end of story.

i can see what you are saying MK, but the enjoyment and entertainment has gone out of watching Scunny, I appreciate that there have been many not too clever seasons past, but I have never felt like turning my back on the club before, but you hear of players not wanting to be here, players told that they will not get new contracts, or players going to have their present salary slashed etc etc, this is surely being reflected on the field, and some players are not bothering, this is new to me in 69 years of attending our matches. I really, really wish that I could sit down and say that I had actually enjoyed two or three games on the trot, I think that the Bradford match was the only one that I enjoyed in the past month.
There are many Scunny fans that keep telling us that Cox took on a very poor squad, this may be so, but after8 months in charge, the standard of entertainment seems to get worse, yes I have paid out the £10 fees for all away matches, and will be signing up for Tuesdays game as usual, but I can confirm that I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY SEASON TICKET, I will probably, or should I say certainly attend a game or two, but I am not committing myself like past years, if it be snowing, freezing or blowing, sitting in the Cluggy freezing one’s balls off to watch suchshite as being presented to us this season, if the club have a team of non-league players, they shouldexpect non-league crowds.

Awaywgo—-Yes I Nhave done my share of moaning thus season, in fact more than my share, but can you honestly say that youhave enjoyed the season yourself????, it has been total defensive dia boring dross, you can count on one hand the games that have been entertaining.
And you are wrong mate regarding me being there next season, I may take in two or three games, but there is no way of getting my usual season ticket, in fact you can have the seat (I31) in the Cluggy, and there are some nice people in nearbye seats, I say that you can have the seat, I was forgetting that the refurbishment of the ground may be ongoing next season, Mr Swann wants it to be ongoing along the side of the construction of the 160 new appartments that will be built on the car park. That build maybe a good place for jobs for some of the players, they certainly are not footballers

I cannot see why you are worried Eondergoals if Gilliead, Eisa., McAtee, KVv, and Karacan will be leaving at the end of the season., we shall still have Turan, Green, Hippolyte, Jarvis and Loft remaining at the club, and with the management team in place, do you doubt that they cannot knock a good attacking team together, and you are obviously forgetting our recruitment and scouting team led by Swann junior, the trouble with you Wondergoals is that you do not carry enough faith in the remaining squad.
This situation will result in a saving in printing season tickets, simply because no one will want any, as a follower of Scunny for 70 years, I never thought that I would feel like this, but there is no possible way that I shall be attending and watching this shite that is played under Cox, Mussa and Lillis, and I would think that next years gates will be similar to the one’s this season. I shall still monitor Scunny results and read the opinins of the few remaining supporters that bother to go.
For Christ sake Coxey, give us a break and tell Swanny that youcannot do the managers job, he may even promote his son from scouting, noting will come as much of a shocknowadays.

Got to admit I didn’t see the one where he nearly gifted it to their player, only heard the comments, I nipped to the loo.
Actually Mick, I wish that I had nipped to the loo for 90 mins ha ha! it couldn’t have been less interesting.
Mick—–By orrors, I was refering to when he came out for a cornerand spilled the ball, and when dribbling the ball in his area and a Crawley player that was behind him almost robbed him of it, because he was not aware that he was there, but he did play better than usual in a very easy game for goal keepers. and thesave at the end was really just a normal keeper save, noyjing brilliant, but apart from Gulliead and to a lesser extent Onariase the rest of the team were really crap, and another waste of £10.
You would have thought that after ten days without a match, that we would have been at full speed and at them continually, instead of just going through the motions, apart from Gilliead, they should be brought in tomorrow for extra training.
1 user thanked author for this post.
Sorry to say, but this was a game of complete rubbish, is there anyone that does not agree with this comment???
90 minuteswithout a shot on goal by Scunny, and Crawley had one shot on target, only one goalkeeping save in the full match.HOWARD—5—N othing to do really, but still made a few errors..
O’MALLEY—6—No overlaps today, defended ok.
BEDEAU–6—Defended ok.
ONARIASE—hEAR—7—Was the heart of a shakey defence, very much overworked.
HOWE—6—defended well, but no overlaps.
GILLIEAD—9—The only Scunny player that performed well, any Scunny danger came from him.
KARACAN–6–Did ok without a lot of support to the front.
BEESTIN—5—Spence should have played, caught out a few times.
GREEN—4—FaST but none productive, was missing for the first hour, not good enough.
EISA—6—Had some good runs but end product was poor.
LOFT—2—What can I say, no ball control, poor game and a complete waste of space.bring
back Novak!!!REF—8—No co,plaints, trued to keep a pathetic game flowing, a good ref.
COX—3—Nice statmeent from him “we are going for wins in all of our last ten matches” followed by an home game against a team that has lost 6 of their last 7 away games, and we do not have one shot on target during the 93 minute, what a bloody clown!!!!
Some better players on the bench than some of his selections, har too late in bringing on subs, for a team that was playing no less than pathetic. A lucky point for us, Crawley were poor, but our lot?????.1 user thanked author for this post.
Reminds me when I was heading into Accrington’s ground about 10 years ago to watch the Iron and a really pleasant lady steward suggested I should use the over 60’s turnstile.
Told her I was 3 or 4 years away from being eligible and she was seriously embarrassed – I was laughing and said I must have had more to drink the previous night than I remembered.
A similar situation happened to myself MK, I was at a Scunny game at Rochdale last season, I was just about to enter the OAP Gate when a steward stopped me and saib “this gate is for pensioners only” as I am 80 this month, this was a bit of a shock for me, but made me feel good until another steward told him “can’t you see he can use this gate, he looks bloody 90 never mind 65!!! ????
Yes ferrite, I am really amazed tha no clubs have gone under, I did not see some of them getting past December.
Nice to see a post from a scunny fan earning post of the week on fishy forum, can’t agree with the sentiment though, has much it’s nice to have rivalry they mostly come out on top, haven’t even won against them in the fa or League cup, so if they achieve non League status again I will rejoice in it.
AWAYWEGO—–We will probably have rivalru again with Grimsby the year after next if all our better players that are out of contract this summer find other clubs, and we don’t have Gilliead, KVV, Eisa, McAtee and as said by Sanfran, our better young players that always get released each year.
I was at the Leeds v Scunny game which we won 4-1, but although Jackie was the Leeds centre half, I am sure that in that particular match, he was playing in a different position.
I do remember a cracking match at Eland Road which ended 0-0, but was an outstanding game that could easily have been 3-3 if not for two brilliant goalkeeping performances by Ken Jones and the other Welsh international keeper Garry Sprake, both these games where stick in the memory matches.
This is one reason why I am not very impressed with todays Scunthorpe playing system, we are lucky if we get three shots on target in our games, never mind three or four goals, we normally just sit in the Cluggy in hope of a corner, or a shot on target!!!
It is a bit of a shock that there is no Prediction League tomorrow, out of the twelve League Two fixtures, eleven are being played, I cannot see why it is not happening just because Scunthorpes match is off !!!!!!!!!!
Mick, As I have said many times friend, everyone has his or her opinion of players performances on the day, in my opinion Howard is a nightmare, today he did keep a clean sheet, but Bradford missed a few sitters, they hit the woodwork three times, and the save you are on about Mick, the ball hit him on the body because of a bad shot of theirs. To be honest mate did you not think that Bradford had scored on two occasions??? because I certaimly did, the fact is Mick, that he did not really make a save worth noting, and a 5 is an average score for a very average performance.
Anyway if you agree with ten of my ratings, I will settle for that ha ha!, but Howard really did have a very average match, and had another feck up with Clarke, and Hull KR scouts were spotted in the stands, they must be after a new goal kicker!!!!!!!
The lads put in a good shift tonight and came away with the 3 points. They ride their luck at times and Bradford hit the woodwork 3 tumes and pronably two or three good chances, but after saying that, Scunny scored two good goals and also missed a few chances, but I think that we just shaded the game.
HOWARD—5—His kicking is terrible, and test your nerves a few times, no saves to make.
BROWN–6—Played ok although being injured during the 1st half.
BEDEAU—8—Is getting a good partnership going with Clarke, very good defending throughout.
KARACAN—7—Also played well in midfield, but always does.
HOWE—8—Played very well, he is quick and links up well with Gilliead, great debut.
GILLIEAD—9—MOM tonight, had some great runs, and what a ball for 1st goal.
SPENCE–7—Worked very hard, and full of energy.
CLARKE—8—Has really settled in the centre of our defence, played really well.
GREEN—6—Quick, 2 or 3 good runs, but then falls over, took the goal well.
EISA—7—-Did enough to keep his place, took his goal well.
LOFT—5—Had a stinker, lost the ball, or poor passes from him.REF—8—A ggod ref who was not drawn to diving players, noy an easy game to ref really.
COX—6—Did ok, but still a defensive system, but is limited with the players we havw available, very pleasing to see Howe perform well, he stood out, and will be a good signing.
A good performance by the lads, but the 2-0 score lime could have been 5-4 with the chances both teams had. Enough points to call ourselves safe for this season, Gilliead, How and Kanacan need long term contracts sorting out, but Gilliead is Champiuonship level really, and far too good for Leagues 1 or 2.—

Darryn—when Clarke pushed the iwat in the chest, like three or four players usually do when most set pieces come accross, but the push was after the ball had passed the place in question, and had already gone over to the other wing, the ball was not even in the area!!!! 99% of the time would have ignored it, but it was obvious that the ref did not really see what happened, and if Clarke had struck the prick, the red card would not have been over ruled.
Actually the ref had a good game apart from that terrible decision, so did Clarke, but seeing that twats reaction, he had probably tried for a sending off or a penalty, but at the very least he should serve a ban, or get a place in the Premier League.
Fair and very swift action, completely correct, and that twisting twat of Southends should serve the three match ban instead, not only did it cost Scunny 2 points, more importantly it cost me 11 Prediction League points. ha ha!
The real problem is that Sarfend showed us that gorgeous, old-time fourth division football.
They were only interested in closing us down and giving us no room to move – which they did very well. They stopped the prospect of any footballing skills being able to be used. Their one mindset was to be destructive.
Sadly we did not seem capable of coping with a side whose tactics were that negative and so, whenever we won possession, out came the big hoof upfield.
I truly hope that they do not gain another point this season.
Let us have them out of the league! – Bye bye. Good riddance.
Urgh. Nasty!lesgeo—–I cannot agree my friend, you say that Southend stopped us playing football and hoofed the ball upfield throughout, that was exactly what we were doing ourselves, and if Southend are so good at stopping teams playing, why are they sitting at the bottom of the League???
The game was a terrible match, and in my opinion Southend put more effort into it than we did, the truth is that both teams are bloody crap.
Just look at the stats, Scunthorpe had ONE SHOT ON TARGET.
Scunthorpe had TWO CORNERS IN THE GAME.
sOUTHEND HAD two shots on target.
Southend had ONE CORNER THROUGHOUT THE MATCH.So the combined total shots on target was THREE.
The total combined corners in the game was THREE.Does that not tell its own storey, and Cox said before the game “THAT WE WILL ATTACK THEM”, maybe he was making reference to Clarks stupidity and not the football side of things, I am sorry to say, but if Cox stays next season, supporters will just stay away, we want entertaining , and to enjoy attending.
I can say for sure that if I had been at GP yesterday, I would have left by 70 mins at most, ptobably along with a few others.
1 user thanked author for this post.
After watching that crap attempt today, it is little wonder that supporters are very unhappy with the way that our team is playing, and how the tactics being used by management do not meet the fans standards, to be honnest, we have now had three or four years of this crap, and the team being set up not to lose, or at the same time set up not to wineither.
At the end of the day, Cox is in charge once the whistle blows, Mussa and Lillis are also with him, why the hell Mussa is there God knows, because also being the GK coach, we seem to have poor keepers that are being coached by him.
But after saying that, it really is Peter Swann that shou;d be sorting the football side of things, and also why some of the players are obviously not giving ant where near their best, and this rolls on week after week, and we can just about say season after season, but he does not even comment any more!!!!!
Just two wirds—-Bloody Rubbish.
No shots on target in 99 minutes.
HOWARD–4–Two bad errorswent unpunished, hiskicking gets worse if possible.
BROWN—6—Acceptable.
BEDEAU—6—Played ok, but too much big boot.
BEESTIN–4—Had a terrible game but scored our goal, how did he get 90 mins???
ROWE–4—His worse game for Scunny, far too many stray passes
GILLIAD–7—Had some good runs but has played better.
KARACAN—8—My MOM, HE IS A CLASS PLAYER.
CLARKE—6—Was having a good game until falling for the three card trick by a cheeting twat.
GREEN—3—How does he get selected before other better players???
KVV—6—Ran about a lot, worked hard, but finishing was not good.
LOFT—4—No treat at all, ball control is terrible.REF—5— Apart from that terrible penalty he gave Southend, did ok other wise, but he could not be the blame of a terrible match.
COX—3—Terrible team selection and playing system, let Southend shade the game because of Coxes defensive tactics, this was against a team that had not scored a goal for six matches, our only pluss sign is that we do not have to sit in the ground watching this tripe. I expected four half time changes after that first half crap, but same team came back out for another 18 mins before a change.
Very, very poor days viewing for Scunny fans.
If the list of wages is anything to go by, I would not blame him one bit for wanting away from Scunny. If he is actually paid £1,500 wages per week after the way he is capable and did play last season, he is worth more, and if that list is correct and it states that McAtee is on £610 per week, the person that makes out the clubs contracts is the one to blame, just think if you were McAtee and on £610 per week, and Dales and Olomolo and Turan are on £900, £800 and £800 and none of these good enough to gain a place, would you slogg your guts out for people that think you deserve that salary. Eisa and McAtee are very good players and should be on good money, and playing entertaining football every week, thats what fans want, believe it or not.
The club and Mr Swann should sort this trouble out, not just play at silly twats with suspensions and dropping players, and let the situation carry on and on, no one gains with this bloody childishness, SORT IT OUT SWANNY.
Match ended with Scunny scoring a 93td min equalizwer to make it 1-1. This being a fair result, after Scunny shading the first half, then not turning iop for the first 35 mins of the second half.
HOWARD—5–Not a lot to do, no real saves of note, should have done better with their goal.
ROWE—6—Looked safe enough, a few good crosses.
BEDEAU—7—I thought he played well today, better than normal.
CLARKE—8—My MOM today, got through a lot of work, and better in midfield than full back.
BROWN—5—Far to many back passes, a few miss placed passes, prefer O’Malley.
GILLIEAD—7–Some very good quick runs by him, a slow starter today.
KARACAN—6—Played ok until a first half injury, hope he is fit soon.
SPENCE—7—Played well.
GREEN—7—Fast, but lacks finnishing touch, needs to practice finishing runs.
KVV—7—After a poor start, put in many very good set piece crosses, subbed instead of LOFT.
LOFT—6—Tried hard without much impact but got very little support up front.McAtee looked lively, and maybe time for a start.
BEESTIN—6—Played ok when brought on.
Hammil–6–Not on long, scored a goal and then injured, looks a ad one possibly.REF—7—Was ok, but must swat up on the advantagerule, he played advantage many times, and then the team kept possession he blew up, why, why, why.
COX—5—Where was the attacking that he was going to order, maybe just the last 10 mins, Oldham are a poor team, and one win in nine matches backs up that statement, but only one point from the home game, and a last min one at that, this guy will never manage a team that plays attacking football, season ticket sales will not top 200 next season with this management team in charge
Another easy match on Saturduy with another very poor team in Southend, I hope that Cox plays attacking football against them, I am very sure that he will!!!!!
