After all the hype regading the Sheff Utd match, the remaining supporters were soon brought back down to earth in a game against Rochdale.

I am afraid things appear to be a continuation of the past four seasons, when fans can leave the matches and think to themselves, what the hell am I doing here after watching many more defeats by their team.

It is very difficult to think of a more passionate crowd than tonights, they shouted the roof down all match, really great to hear them, and 100% of them really enjoying themselves, there was more from this crowd than any Englands mens game I can remember.

Another very entertaining game tonight, whats not to like about the way that the girls throw everything into these matches.

I thing Spain were a little unlucky and controlled a lot of the action, but our girls never gave up, and what a cracking winning goal it was, not seen one as good as that at GP for many years, well done the England team and management.

Why though was the Spain nuber 14 not brough on till near the end of the match, reminded me of a bit on Neil Cox management!!

The Scunthorpe fans Facebook page has stated a potential takeover has been quashed due to Swann wanting to keep hold of shares so that Coolsilk still have access to the land.

No idea how true it is. I really cannot wee this being true, just because Peter Sqann stated after trasferring the assets to his company that “I will return the assets back to the club when I leave the club”, it was stated at the same time as when he told fans that “the club will be in a better state when he left than it was whem he entered it”, surely supporters remember these statements!!!.

So surely no one is suggesting that it is another of Swanns lies????????

Well Awaywego pal, having watched the Iron when ever possible and excepting the past two seasons for seventy one years, my opinion might be classad as the general assumption for the missing 1,800 ex-supporters. I held my season ticket in the Cluggy since retirement in 2009, and only missed one game until the Covid season, that one match when I sat in the car park for an hour before I realised that I had left my ticket card at home in Barton.

But the way the team has been set up for the past four seasons, when attacking play was never any part of Scunthorpe Uniteds playing style, if we ever managed two shots on target, it was a bonus, but saying that, it cost me more than my season ticket price due to watching both home and away Scunny games on iFollower, and after all they have been my team since 1951 when entering the league, but sadly Mr Swann has ruined the complete experience of supporting SUFC, all the bullshit he has fed supporters with, there is not one thing has come true, sadly I backed him on this forum 100% for about four or five years, just think “me being 81 YOA and so easily conned by bullshit”, but until Mr Swann is clearly out of the Scunny set up,I will like many other long time followers of Scunny, never set foot in GP at any cost.

So Awaywego, I hope that gives you an idea of what many missing supporters are thinking, what is so much of a shock, is how the hell have 1,500 fans bought season tickets for this season, the bloody owner does noit bother hius arse to attend, so after the past four seasons, why do these 1,500 think things will change for the good???????????

BUT AS I STATED, THEY ARE STILL MY TEAM AT HEART, AND I WISH THEM AND THE FANS ALL THE VERY BEST FOR THE FUTURE.

Well WonderGoals, as a livid Scunthorpe fan, no one can possibly condemn your assessment of (boring and poor quality football, because for the past 4 or 5 years you have seen nothing else at GP!!!!!

But I feel sure that you could possibly enjoy both if you really tried, but surely you must agree that the entertainment of watching a Southgate England team nearly sents you to sleep, if you were not so pissed off with all the back passing.

ou have to be joking Wonder goals

No I wasn’t joking. Women’s football for me is subpar, no doubt they would improve over time but I only care about here and now in terms of actually going out of my way to watch it for any real amount of time.

I personally find it poor. I wasn’t comparing women’s football to Scunny men’s team as such, I was just highlighting how bad Norway were.

No doubt it was more entertaining watching England vs Norway because women because Norway were bordering on comical.

If you find women’s football that entertaining I suggest you stick to that and don’t bother with Men’s football anymore seen as you went out of your way to highlight the plus points.

    Each to their own.

Before certain white knights start crying, I’m not in anyway a misogynist by any means, I just think the quality isn’t there to hold my attention.

    Really it isn’t that deep.

I think it’s shite though. There I said it.

Yes WonderGoals, I fully agree with your comment and I am the first person that would agree that everyone has a right to their opinion, but do you not agree that it gets so bloody boring when you watch the England Mens team that nearly every time a ball is played to one of them, their first reaction is to turn round and look who is behind them to take a pass??. And please appreciate that the girs are probably paid £200 per week at the saME TIME AS THE MENS POSSIBLY £200,000 PLUS PER WEEK, so on that score surely they should be putting 100% effort in, but I see the boot on the other foot. Anyway mate take care and please enjoy the new season, but I hope that you have not bought a season ticket, my I-32 SEAT WILL BE EMPTY, 71 YEARS IS MORE THAN ENOUGH, WELL THE PAST FOUR OF THEM HAVE BEEN.

Sharp Shooter, yes qw have dropped into non-league thanks to the efforts of Swann, but the reason that there is no talk of signing centre forwards is thet, it is certainly a new league, but we have played without forwards for 4 years, so there is no need to change the system as well as leagues, Scunny are very experienced at playing the 4-5-1 style, this is now deep rooted into the club, and will only change when Swann gains his liquidation of SUFC, he will then get the money he wasted back after he transferred the club ground, training pitch and other club owned land to his own company. I still wonder how he got away with such a move, but sadly there has never been any fight put up by anyone.

Norway played that bad, I think our side from last season would have battered them !. I don’t need to point out how shite we were last season. That’s how bad the opposition was.

Women’s football is very poor on the whole. Nothing against it at all, they deserve to play football professionally as much as anybody else but still the standard is shocking and nothing I’d ever personally bother watching.

Each to their own though !

[/quote You have to be joking Wonder goals, their passing is very good, their defending is just fine, they give 100%, their work rate is far better then the mens team,, and you do not get that bloody diving and rolling about like the stupid men do, and there is a shortish of that stupid, boring time wasting back and sideways bloody passing that the men seem to have perfected. Their finishing in front of goal is not always hop class, but you cannot compare their finishing to Scunny’s simply because Scunny do not get in front of the other teams goal that often, so we do not really know what Scunny’s finishing would be like!! All in all there was more entertainment watching ten minutes of the ladies then if you sit watching a full Scunny game, but after saying that, “when was the last time I stuck it out for 90 mins ?”.

Pity they do not appoint the ladies team manager to run the England mens team, instead of that boring prat Southgate.

Well done tonight ladies,it was a pleasure to sit and watch them, and it had followed the England ladies one dayer at cricket, another thrashing of South Africa, and all this followed by my recording of “Love Island”, so a very enjoyable day, a couple of Budds Beer, and it also kept me out of the very hot sun.

You are 100% correct IronKing, every item that you have listed except the “working shift when Scunny are at home”, is just what my opinions are, the club is finished and will never recover from the depths that Swann has driven them into, and after doing so does not even have the bloody neck to even try and explain to the few remaining fans any intentions of his, or to even construct another of his bare faced lies to add to the many previous ppssibly 100 of them, he must be the most hated person to ever have any connections with SUFC, whom he is 100% to blame for killing our club, you are 100% correct IronKing.

This statement could only be supplied by the one and only Uptheiron-69, but my only doubt is that it does not end with “Peter Swann is not to blame for anything that has happened to SUFC, so called fans should turn out a support the team every week, it is completely their fault”.

    1 youth player – Cribb.

What else can the club pay when the fans have deserted the club because they don’t like Swann?

Perhaps if you’d sold 5000 season tickets in previous seasons you wouldn’t have had to endure several seasons in the National league.

The fans have not deserted the club because they hate Swann, they have deserted the club because they have been served up with boring, unentertaining defensive shite for four years, so it is the club management that have deserted the supporters, thats why there are now about 1,700 remaining instead of the 4,000 as we had before. Same as it was stated, pack your bags and get yourself to Blackpool along with that relative of yours.

It’s no good moaning about the budget when probably a third of the fans are sat at home crying. Get your arse down to GP, pay your money and if the budget is still ‘peanuts’ voice your opinion.

I fully understand every word that you are saying Roamingbull, just like your father I have also been attending and supporting the team since 1951, until the past two seasons, the Covid one and last season, I just cannot take any more watching such boring, non-entertaining and defensive shite, I have reached my limit of it, and will not go again until something changes, but I cannot see this happening, simply I feel that Swann wants the club to liquidate so he can get back money from the land that his company now own, after signing it over after HE RAN UP A £13 million debt, so the life time fans and all the others have to shoulder the blame. But Swann still has the backing and support of Uptheiron-99.

I am just thinking, how many of the 1,100 season ticket holders are going to enjoy their visits to GP ??

It could possibly be a worse experience than any of the past three seasons, if that is at all possible!!

You have really killed and buried our once greaT little club Swann, it will never ever be the same again, hope that you are happy with yourself.

There really is no reason to sign new players is there, the club have sold over 1,100 season tickets, and matches will be watched by another 400 or 500 turn out on the day fans, and possibly another 350 away supporters, giving a total of just under 2,000 crowds, similar to last season which shows that Scunny fans are happy to turn up and watch the shite served up to them. Fans should have boycotted the season tickets, and force the club into some action in forming a proper team that can compete even with non-league football, but I suppose it was because of the period of cheaper tickets, but the cheap price would have been kept open if there had not been a run to the ticket office for them, so you only have your ituation.selves to blame for the sad present situation.

Yep. Don’t we already have a teenage keeper?

Yes Northumiron, we do have a couple of 18 year old keepers, we also nave about nine 18 year old out field players, maybe we have been relegated into the Youth League, and I was thinking it was to be the National league.

That is what the 1,100 season ticket holders will have paid to watch by buying tickets early in order to save a few quid, but it could be worse, there may not be a SUFC by August.

    hat

That will no doubt be “what is the most finacially sound for Swann”, he will drag it on as long as it takes, thats why there is no price on the sale, and not even what base the value is assessed on or what the sale actually consists on, to be blunt, there is nothing really left of the club compaired to what it was whem Swann sadly arrived.

EVERY SALE HAS A PRICE TAG ATTATCHED TO IT.

You need not spend too much of your time assessing promotion needs pal, ask yourself how many points are required to save relegation, or more obviouse, how does the club stay afloat, with no imput from it’s owner, that has only been interested in taking from the club, and who’s aim appears to be to destroy it. National League North or liquidation is coming our way.

If anything is on sale, there is always a description on what the sale contains, and also a price put on it, Swann has no intention of selling the club, he actually still blames the supporters for it’s present sad position, Covid over ran it’s period of blame, then supporters, nothing has been declared by him as being his fault, it has been 100% his fault all along, but he just walked away and has said nothing, well nothing containing any truth.

He obviously does not want to sell the club, simply because he has drained it of everything, money, ground and land, decent players we had, 1,800 loyal fans and even it’s league status. He borrowed money from the football league causing an club embargo, and it has now been published that he has even taken loans on our stadium, this shows the true colours of this great man!!

So how the hell can he sell the club, when there is nothing left of it, and as I have stated all season, the best ending for Swann would be for the club to be wound up, for me that has been is his aim, then he can pocket very good money for all the land that he took from the club and its 5,000 supporters, can anyone see any reason why he kept Cox on for 12 months too long?

leIt is almost impossible for Scunny signings, the club has no money, they are a low wage payer, they have just been relegated out of the football league, the club owner has no interest in the club what so ever, there is a lot of uncertainty regarding the clubs continued existance, and have just ended the season in last place in the bottom football league miles below any other team with a no win record of 17 matches, so who the hell is going to sign for our club????. There are not too many Turans about that are available. The club has nothing to offer any player that has any sorts of skills or ambition, THANK YOU SO MUCH PETER SWANN.

Grimsby are full of tryers, decent players who have given their best, in all three play-off matches had 30 mins extra time, so three 2 hour games in little over ten days, and they deserved to win all three matches. Can you see our ragged ase lot competing with the likes of Grimsby Town, no bloody chace of that, in fact to stay out of the National League bottom three next season, will be really difficult, thats how bad we have become under Swanns mis-management, how the hell have Scunny managed to sell 1,100 season tickets?, it just proves that there are many many loons in the town who do not know what to do with their time and money!!!

You are very wrong with your wage thief Awaywego, McAtee was reported to be on £800 per week with Scunny, whilst KVV £4,000, Gillead £2,000 and Turan £1,000 per week, so who are the wage thiefs??????????, he was another of Coxes F- up’s.

Why don’t some of you find another hobby that gives you more enjoyment. I don’t think Football is for you.

You do come out with some shite UTI-69, you continually slag off all the Iron supporters that use this forum, and never ever have a good word for any of them (except Awaywego who is also yourself with a different username), but at the same time as you lick the arses of the people that have ruined the enjoyment of some 1,800 avid supporters that have had their enjoyment removed from their once entertaining visits to GP, and you have the bloody neck to slag off these fans that have been bored to death by management that have guided SUFC out of the football league.

Just think what you are saying before posting such shite, you do not blame the supporters a few times, it is every bloody time, but never a wrong word for Swann, who had bankrupted our once loved club not only of money, but also of entertainment and enjoyment of continuing watching our football team, just grow up UTI-69 and don’t talk such continual rubbish!!!

Will Swann’s picks with a bit of cash were appalling, what are we going to get when he’s got no money to spend – its enough to give you sleepless nights

I will tell you what you will get Ironawe, you will get forced liquidation, I have forcast this for most of the season, this would be the best outcome for Peter Sqwann, that in my opinion is why we have spiraled out of the football league under his handling of affairs.

I along with 1,800 regular strong supporters of SUFC, have lost all of our interest in the club, and this asituation will not change whilst Peter Swann is still associated with SUFC.

He has wasted all the clubs money and assets, driven out any of our better players, put his clueless son in charge of recruitment, kept on clueless managers, fell out with the NLCC and even the football league, run the stadium into a terrible condition, and taken us into non-league . What really baffles me is why has Turnbull rejoined the club, and why has Hill extended his contract, they must be able to see that our club is finished!!

Why would the club need liquidating if it has sufficient cash flow through ticket sales? 🤦🏻‍♂️

UTI99 why don’t you see that you are the only one that thinks and keeps stating “that it is the fans fault, and their lack of support that has caused all the rot at SUFC, don’t you actually think that it is Swanns management tactics that is totally to blame??, he employed his clueless son as head recruitment scout, resulting in the shite that came to the club, he retained Cox as manager for 12 months too long after he was a complete failure, again clueless, he then transferred the club assets (ground and land etc) to his own company after he had run up a debt of £13 million, but you keep blaming supporters, can’t you see that there is not one person on this forum that supports what you are preaching!!!

So what makes you think that the gate money will be spent on players???, even if we had 3,500 fans every match, that money is hardley enough to cover clubs running costs, never mind anything left over for decent players, and another thing, what decent player is going to come to Scunny when we are no longer a football league club, and at the same time are now classed as very low wage payers.

Looking at your methods UTI-99, why don’t the club put the entrance price up to £30 per match???, supporters have stopperd attending simply because, they have sat in their seats for 4 years now, and have been served up with total shite!!, there is practically no attacking play, one up front, resulting in no shots on target, the team going lengthy spells without a win, currently 17 games without a win, at the same time as being bored to death, after paying their entrance money. I have attended SUFC for 70 years, but like the club owner / chairman, I feel it is much better to stay away. THE CLUB IS NO LONGER WORTH VISITING, AND WILL NOT CHANGE UNTIL SWANN LEAVES, AND HE WILL GET HIS FORCED LIQUIDATION THE WAY HE IS STILL HANDLING AFFAIRS.

Forest keeper should have been booked in the shoot out. UTWI

He is a bloody cheating prat, he did exactly the same in another match earlier this season, is there any need for a keeper to go to the side netting and take a drink from the container he had, at the time EVERY PENALTY was about to be taken, one time the player had to wait a full minute till that prick was ready, he also walked towards the penalty spot each time to see that the ball was on the spot, the ref had checked this, but the ref was 100% wrong in not booking him.

It obvously depends on if the club is taken over by new owners, if this happens I feel it will be option 6, with the club finishing the season in 16th or 17th position, but if Swann holds on to the club and will not accept any reasonable offers, then I am looking at option 10, because that way will suit Swanns thinking of getting the most money from his companies ownership of all the clubs assets (LAND ETC). Swann has proved that he has no interest in SUFC as a football club, and his handling of things backs up that statement, the club is presently practically worthless, with no desent players, no money, no stadium or land, and have lost 2,000 regular supporters because of there being no point in attending games, the team has not won a game in the last 17 matches, and the entertainment served up at GP is non-existant.

I still have that feeling that Swann will hang onto the club ownership, simply because he actually believes that it is not his fault that the club has sank to record lowas under his ownership, I am sure that he blames the fans for all this.

Swann has milked the club dry, he has then said he is looking for a buyer, what the hell is left for anyone to even consider buying the club, we are now not even in the bottom division of the football league, WE ARE A NON-LEAGUE TEAM, with a squad that is not good enough to even hold a place in the National League, with a run down stadium, no money, and a dwindled fan base.

You have never ever failed to support Swann have you UTI99, you just lick his arse continualy, no matter what he has done to our club, many of us will never attend games again whilst he is still the uninterested owner, as I am saying, he has no interest in SUFC as a team, so why should we have, also giving what is offered on match days at GP.
