Not sure if this is allowed, but this is the rumour being referenced. I will add that this is all a rumour so far as I know, so I am not claiming any knowledge on this bit.

Reminds me of the ‘own a share in a racehorse’ companies.
Buy a nag for £15k – 3,500 shares @ £75 a share = £262k.
Nice business.
Buy a share in a sham. Just £1,899 !

Find a goal, settle down
Perhaps the term ‘hostile’ stems from any concern over treatment Michelle (and Roj) may encounter. You would hope that they would be handled in extremely courteous and respectful fashion.
Yeah probably too soon we will be settling for a play off spot.
Just not good enough are we.The most frustrating thing – sometimes we are.
No, we’re not. We’re never good enough. Sometimes we’re good.
Either way, he should have known how it would appear. And palling with the AfD doesn’t help.
Ok. So yes or no?
Now the big question is will they take notice or just plod along doing whatever they want legal or not.
More fool them if they do. But, yes, as I said yesterday, talk of this should now be fizzled out.
I think the statement from the trust is pretty crass in the current atmosphere, They didn’t have to mention certain aspects which would clearly trigger.
There was clearly a sense of humour involved in posting at this moment, but yes.
As the three people who are pushing this Unity Group are associating themselves and the group with Scunthorpe United.
The club should come out with a public statement either associating or disassociating themselves with the group.
The new CEO could perhaps earn his wages and enlighten us all as statements from the three group owners mean nothing to me.I don’t think it’s necessary for the Club to say anything at this point. It’s very clear the Unity group is not an official SUFC organisation, even if the people behind it are well known for fundraising and volunteering.
Maw along with his two partners are to restart his fund raising, not for the club but to subsidise away travel.
Someone must know what this was about? It really didn’t look good when it appeared at the cult page (in the middle of the white heat of Griftgate a couple of weeks back), so I’m sure it must have been explained..?
I’ve never met him or had any dealings with him, but I got annoyed when he jumped on the mental health bandwagon around Hilton, seeming to suggest people should lay off and Hilton should be given a pass because he’s suffered with his mental health in the past. Here’s the thing – you can have horrific cancer and still be a total c**t.
With you most of the way on this 64 but you must get that chip off your shoulder,
Jerry was not having a dig as you say.
If you can be arsed to go down to the ground for a match you will see the Corner ticket office is now a Danny food outlet selling CRUMBLE hence crumble corner nothing more nothing less.Bit naive. It’s always been Trust Corner (although first, before that, it was known as Fanzine Corner). I believe that in recent years even the club itself has referred to it as “the ticket window near Trust Corner”.
The relaunch not going well on SUFG, is it?
Indeed … just fans asking some important questions is ruffling a few feathers
It looks like perhaps they (Jerry and Stuart and whoever else) don’t actually have / know any answers to those questions at this stage of their launch… which would be rather alarming, if correct.
Or, perhaps they’re waiting to reveal all, in great detail, to those who are interested at their actual launch meeting rather than bit by bit on a toxic Facebook group where they might feel under attack?

My prediction is that Trump won’t turn out to be as bad as many fear, and he’ll be nowhere near as good as he’ll make himself out to be. As ever time will tell.
Trump is the instrument, Musk is the player. It’s not going to end well. For any of us.
Absolutely valid questions. But others have been raised about the need for another membership group and why this group can’t fundraise with funds going to the Trust to buy shares which would benefit supporters in the long run.
I totally agree, why not go the ‘via the Trust’ route and use any money raised to actually put some power into the hands of fans?
But they don’t want to – and, ultimately, why is that anyone else’s business..?
Is this the Barrie Thomas moment of the 2020s?
I agree it’s probably a storm in a tea cup but I wouldn’t want to suggest talk of the new group is fizzled out. End of the day, people may have stronger feelings about it and wish to air their views. Some valid questions have been raised and that’s healthy IMO.
The only real valid question is around the money – what’s it for, how is it going to be managed, and who is custodian of it… You start a public group where you’re asking for money and you need clear and careful governance.

Just leave them to it, imho. It’s a fan club, not a serious political body. However, they really do need to be transparent re: money.

I’ve been thinking about this since last night (don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t for long, of course. I had an episode of Traitors to watch, some toenails to cut and some sleep to do).
But, ultimately, I think talk of the Unity group should be fizzled out and they should just be left to get on with it. The current amount of discourse is pointless. It’s unlikely that they’re setting themselves up as serious rivals to the Trust (despite Jerry’s snide comment on the cult page) and it’s highly unlikely that they’re organised enough or even capable of operating at a ‘political’ level like the Trust.
So it’s not really a splinter group, or a disunity division. Essentially, I presume, they’ll be ‘just’ an old fashioned Fan Club, and that’s probably a good thing for those who care about the club but don’t particularly want much of a say in things.
However, as money from fans will be involved, it’s imperative that they’re open and detailed about what they’re intending to do with it.
I wouldn’t want to be part of any club that would have me as a member
Point taken!
Just been reading the toxic explosion on the Facebook cult page, about the Trust and the new Unity group. Hilarious! Not really sure those purporting Unity grasp the concept of unity. Rallying all efforts behind the Trust, as close to a carefully run and professional fans organisation as we’ve ever had, and intrinsic to the survival of the club to date, is the way forward. Not some middle-aged emo-angst teen-tit loving splinter group sitting in a corner blowing up balloons for kids parties.
This Peter Sweden has the right name, he sounds a proper vegetable.
A proper turnip for the books.

The week that will define our destiny.
Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday home games worth a massive 9 points v Brackley, South Shields and Market Needham all winnable.
When you have aspirations of promotion and lose to teams in the bottom four after being ahead, you need to pick up a result v Chorley to make amends.
Then win those three home games no ifs no buts, that will be pay back for the disastrous November/December with three 0-0 draws, defeat v Buxton and Warrington Rylands.
Tend to agree that it’s the pivotal week in the season.
You’re all making the mistake of thinking that voting for any of these clowns will change anything.

Regards to Beck – let’s see how many he ends the season on.
21 games remaining.
Are we laying bets? My guess is 2.
I’ve not been impressed by him, but I can’t help feeling that if we actually played to his strengths we might get more out of him.

Simon Elliott to a different mirror
Not all disabilities can be seen which is quite obvious in Jerry’s case. Takes most of the piss takes (could be seen as bullying) with good humour and that is a lot by the way, so he gets arsey sometimes no bloody wonder.
He did used to get a lot of piss taken in the olden days when he’d run round the pitch and out of the stadium to collect a John Bramhall pass from the M181 or the car park.
