Fitzsimons to come up for our last minute corner at Hereford when it’s 2-1 and we need a draw…

April 12, 2025 at 10:56 am in reply to: Has Whitehall Played His Last Game For The Iron – Yes or No #302124Don’t think AB is taking anyone for a fool, Whitehall has played his last game for us IMO but to keep moral up Butler does not want to confirm it, basic football logic to keep opponents guessing.
Probably this.
Oh I was a fan of Lee, nobody spoke up for him more than me on his return from Peterborough, bought the bullshit but his actions told a different story, then in the end he attacked fans with sending the police in unforgivable.
I to will not be renewing my season ticket.Every cloud and all that.
Did you not like the “United we Stand” stuff Apollo.
The sentiment was generally good but the designs were utter crap.

Yes a shit show, going from personally designed products to a generic product base, “United we Stand”
Personally I’m pleased to be free of the absolute tat that was on sale over the last 18 months. The design work was generally appalling. I really don’t like the way Merch Labs seem to have been treated, though.
The supporters have been let down so far – they had better get this right !
For one of the most sensible and reasonable posters on this site, I’m very surprised to read this sort of entitled rubbish. Supporters don’t “deserve” anything, our support is not conditional.
We’d all like to have steamrollered every side we came across, won every game, been 15 points clear and all that stuff. But if last season didn’t teach you that the division is harder than expected (whatever the quality of football) and that it’s a real grind to get out of, then you weren’t paying attention.

Feel sorry for all the fans who have backed requests from the club to get down and support the team. The supporters have been let down so far – they had better get this right !
We’re at the top of the league with our destiny in our own hands. How is that letting down the supporters?

How long can we afford to wait? Tough decisions have to be made and sometimes the club get it wrong. A list of released youngsters that subsequently failed to make the grade would be extremely long.
This whole argument also doesn’t account for the fact that it’s not just the player themselves. It’s not a straight line from talent to success, and there are no guarantees. Success also involves a combination of environment and ‘the right people’ for the player’s character, and it being ‘the right moment’. Not saying Scunthorpe haven’t had this important combination on occasion, I’m just saying a single club can’t necessarily make the most of every single good player.
All about can our players take the pressure ?
I’d say it’s all about can our players apply the pressure, and from the off.
Club hoping to have something shop-shaped online by the end of the week, apparently.
Tbf, the addition of Example is decent. The rest aren’t cutting it for me though.
“Tbf” is the crucial thing, here, really. If it’s not your taste, it’s someone else’s. It may well do quite well. There are a lot of people who are into that kind of stuff. I hope it’s a success, and the Club move forward and do something a bit more family or discerning music fan friendly.
Now it just needs Herbert to attend with some party pills with Hilton’s face on them.
1899ers
You are correct Awaywego. Didn’t bother to watch the “highlights” because I was there and there weren’t any.
What I’m saying is, if the effort by Roberts that hit the bar and the one that was tipped round the post go in, it’s a different story. Performance not lauded, of course, but would largely be forgotten. Fine margins.
11am on a Monday morning – 11 hours into a new week and no sign yet of any drama pouring forth from Glanford Park. I want my money back!
Who’s Brad?
The new catering point person is taking requests on the cult page.
Im disappointed in the official Scunthorpe united Facebook site telling us there’s 4 massive games to go!
Maybe tell the manager and the players that, would have been handy to tell them before Saturdays game that there were 5.
Guess with it being sunny they thought it was a pre season friendly and could just go through the motions. Not quite fair, imho. The highlights package on You Tube suggests we were a bit unlucky – Calum Roberts hit the bar from a free kick, hit the side netting and had one tipped round the post by the Radcliffe keeper. Carlton had a glimpse of a chance which he seemed to fluff, there were a couple of other small moments that could’ve developed into full blown chances. I’d say it was a bad result, but if one or two of our chances go in it doesn’t quite look like the apocalyptic performance some have made out.
10.15 on Tuesday morning and still nothing!
There’s nobody to run it since Sam was kicked out, he was the IT man.
It doesn’t exist at all.

Four and a half days and counting.

Watched the extended highlights on You Tube and it looks like Calum Roberts could have had a hat trick and Ubaezuonu could have had a goal too. United unlucky? Doesn’t look like 1-0 was a fair result, doesn’t look like 0-0 would have been the right result.

risk keeping Ross and let a perfectly fit guy go nagh.
Also, Barrows is not going to be injured for the entirety of next season.
Cant believe your stance there Apollo you’ve been so adamant that every little drop of money should go to the club for the benefit of the club, and yet your prepared to keep Barrows for a further year.
Cant afford freeloaders no matter what sentiments you might feel for him, so come the who we keep and who we let go we risk keeping Ross and let a perfectly fit guy go nagh.Sadly, I can believe your stance.
I agree Apollo11, if we are not promoted this season in my opinion the Board will have a lot to answer for. I do not believe they are focusing on the football, but rather on fun fairs and concerts. Without fans there will be no football club. There is far too much division in the Boardroom and pulling in different directions. The banning of Danny Stamp after previously finishing his Smokin Goat catering, finishing Merch lab, Kelme and now no on-line shop in place. They couldn’t even get our playing surface up to standard, the worst it has ever been. Far too many egos in that Boardroom and not focusing on the main thing, THE FOOTBALL! Let’s hope they will realise and now all four should be putting our SUFC first, all pull in the same direction and help gain promotion. Remember we supporters are the 12th man and showing this with the excellent support we are giving. C’mon you directors get your ct together.
I slightly disagree. I don’t think it’s their job to focus on the football. It’s their job to focus on the business side, and that might mean funfairs and whatever (but with the caveat of ensuring that stuff doesn’t spill over and affect the football). I am presuming what you actually mean is they are behaving with very little regard for the stability of the football side at a crucial point in the season..?
Completely agree with you about the pitch, it’s the worst it has ever been since we’ve been at Glanford Park – and by some considerable distance. It’s a total embarrassment and a massive liability. Without being too explicit about the effects of that terrible surface, I hope the Club does absolutely the decent thing and stands by Ross Barrows for a further year, if he happens to be out of contract in the summer (does anyone know?).
As for ‘all pull in the same direction’, it doesn’t work like that. When there are fundamental differences of opinion in the boardroom the best you can hope for is stalemate and/or an uneasy truce – which never really holds for too long as the type of animal that inhabits a boardroom doesn’t like to be kept on a leash.
I expect even more uproar at SUFC over the summer.
April 7, 2025 at 3:22 pm in reply to: Has Whitehall Played His Last Game For The Iron – Yes or No #301883Yes, he has.
FC xxxx fiasco
bye bye Merch lab .. Now no online shop
Catering operations changing with the wind
New kit suppler
Pitch Fk UpI really wouldn’t like to be in the Board’s position should we fail to get promotion. They’re likely to receive hostility and abuse if that happens. So many annoyances and distractions this last few weeks, it’s been hard to stay buoyant and focused as a supporter – so how must Andy Butler and the playing staff have felt?

Seriously though they would sell well.
How many people would buy them? How much would they be?
Answers: Not that many. And, therefore, a lot of money each, to cover the costs of time / production.

If I was changing my online shop provider, I’d make sure the new one was ready to switch on as soon as, or before, the other is switched off. Hope this simple process was in place?
Clearly not. Ridiculous.
