If this protest goes ahead on the 8th May it needs proper organisation re details of times, etc. and press involvement.

As I’ve said before the thought of SUFC fans protesting makes me shudder. Total disrespect to the English Football Pyramid and the other 23 teams in league 2.

Since when have SUFC been that club that demands it should never struggle in whatever league it plays in.

We’ve had bad times in the past and we’ll have bad times again in the future. That’s football.

    Disgusting idea.

I will not protest against the chairman who I think is handling the slagging off very well. I have been a supporter for 50 years and I think the quality is appalling but the chairman has kept us going through covid and reading his latest statement gives me belief that he will keep this club going. I know some of you will call me a happy clapper but those that know me know I am not. Protest against Mr Swann and verbally abuse him isn’t going to get you anywhere except maybe one day he say’s sod this I am off and then if that happens where does it leave our beloved football club. I am as disappointed as anybody that we didn’t get a new ground but as things are at the moment I will take what we have and move forward. And please don’t start abusing me for having an opinion as I have not said anything about yours. UTI

Do we just protest and spit our dummies out every time we have a bad season?

No but when we have 3 disastrous seasons in a row then I reserve the right to be pissed off about it.

Can’t anybody remember what position David Wraith left us in when he left, so worst position in 60 years I think not, Not saying we won’t be when Swanny does leave. Not really bothered who the chairman is so long as they keep putting the money in (so long as it isn’t the Arabs who tried to buy Newcastle)

These sort of statements come out after virtually every moment of crisis or failure. I’m not convinced this will appease supporters serious and justifiable concerns about the last three years and the future on and off the pitch. Why should it given recent history?

What I don’t want is a new chairman without any ambition and who would try and run the club without debt. Imagine someone comes in and says he happy with the ground, and happy to stay in div 2 for the foreseeable future, no thanks give me someone who’ll give it a go. Hey we’ve had that man and he failed boo hoo.

The horrific football and the possibility of dropping into non league- however excruciating- isn’t my main concern at the moment. Football is cyclical and at some point we will be due a stint in tier 5. That I can begrudgingly accept.

Meanwhile, Nothing I have seen about the land transfer fills me with confidence: from reading Swann’s statements, articles in the telegraph, Simon elliot’s tweets, points made on this board and information on the grapevine. There is no precedent (as far as I know) from a a club of similar stature to us benefiting from such a move.

I think an organised protest is abit much at the minute and it’s something I won’t attend, for those that wish to do so then it’s their prerogative; however the Chairmen does need to be continuously scrutinised on this deal by journalists/humberside/iron trust/podcast/ fans forums, whomever that may be.

    The more transparency the better.

Yep we have his statement as we have had numerous others during his ownership of the Iron and how many of those statements have come to fruition? Come on Awaywego his track record on most things is dire, he’s put the club into serious debt with a poor business plan, taken ownership of the club’s assets as a result and asks everybody who is concerned to keep the faith, keep believing, in what? His past record on delivering what he promised? Piss off.

That’s right, resort to insults. Don’t lie. I haven’t slagged him off in that post or anywhere. I’ve given my opinion. People aren’t calling for yet another statement! Guess what? You don’t seem capable of reading and interpreting much or making sense at all. And by the way, that’s not slagging off either, it’s a statement of fact. If you can’t debate constructively please don’t engage with my posts.

I can just see the headline in the Sunday Times – ‘Police Called To Swan Protest Scuffle’

Police were called to a retail park in a small northern town yesterday where they found 27 keyboard warriors fighting amongst themselves. One of the group claimed a swan had deliberately broken their arm whilst another said the swan had acted in self defence. The police banged their heads together citing lack of social distancing.

I can’t see anything like that happening at all. But hey, if dampening or belittling a course of action you don’t like is what you want to do, carry on.

I thought the Lib Dems supported the right to peaceful protest? You might want to check what you’ve signed up to.

Hope the Scunthorpe protest out does Man Utds. Though I don’t think Ironawe will attend if there are going to be flares around.

Yes foreveriron We are all entitled to our opinions. But look at it from another angle. Swann hasn’t kept us GOING as you say through covid. Now the stadium has GONE, the land has GONE and all the clubs assets have GONE to his company. He’s kept us going alright!!!

The only disgusting thing is uptheiron99 is that your still on here praising this chairman who is trying to pull the wool over the fans eyes and mugs like you feel like he is some saviour. Personally id rather start again in non league if need be with people who actually care about this football club and who wont rip it apart. Look how we were run before we were one of the best run clubs who players WANTED to come play for and give everything for this club now we are the total opposite. Fans who care for this club like they say they do actually need to make it known its OUR club and not someones experiment. SWANN OUT!

Well you won’t get in the ground anyway Awaywego, however the sight of you running round the perimeter of GP with a flare going off stuck up your arse might be worth the match day fee after all. 🤔😂

Need to be clear about what we are protesting about and what different outcome is wanted. I don’t give a monkey’s who the chairman is – just want him to get on with “chairman” things and employ some football professionals to give us some football and footballers worth watching.

Agree with you James Brown. Surely the Iron Trust or Supporters Club should be organising something. Otherwise what is the point of these organisations???

It is you wanting to protest, don’t assume everyone else is on the same page as you,if your a member of the trust or supporters club put a motion forward, other than that organise the protest yourself.
