Great point today considering the circumstances. Horton stupid sending off and were missing key players. Starbuck today was incredible. I can’t believe how much better he looks compared to last season.

No. To be fair inside the ground everybody is fair with him and got a really good reaction at full time when he came over. I don’t get where all this “they want the club to fail” rubbish.
I’m not quite sure how he came to that conclusion. Fans worried about a player that has looked a bag of nerves who has made mistakes to “they can stay at home” and “they only want the club to fail” is a ridiculous jump to say the least.
I don’t get where he’s coming from, but there you go.

To be fair he played well today. I hope he keeps it going. Unlike the garbage Butler spouts, I don’t want Campbell to fail. If Campbell plays well and develops then we finish further up the league.
Butler needs to engage his brain before opening his mouth at times. Bit wide of the mark.

Butler will stick his head in the sand as the daft pillock publicly declared Maison was his number one without even seeing him as first choice in pre season.
I suspect he’ll give him too many chances because if he brings another keeper in, he’s admitting he was wrong. We saw this play out last season with the 5 at the back, he was stubborn for too long then too.
I hope I’m wrong and Maison comes good, but I can’t see it, and pretty sure no many other fans can either. Only terrifying thing is that we have Watson to take the reigns. I wouldn’t call him a safe pair of hands by any means.
Maison is dracula 2.0
Sharp made me laugh during the fans forum. The key word of the night “transparency” was used from Sharp when talking about the fc100 deal, even though himself and George featured live on a podcast a few months before the potential deal was leaked stating no deal was to be done.
Sharp then started to crow about how great the deal was, to then mention 60 seconds later that 7 clubs were interested and not one went through with it lol
How the board can keep using the word transparency after trying to push the deal through secretly is mind boggling.

He’s only ever going to learn by playing games and gaining experience and if he’s showing some errors then they can be worked on with the coaching staff
A goalkeeper shouldn’t need to learn how to catch and punch a ball. Those two things are basic goalkeeping fundamentals, it would have been instilled in him from a young kid.
The fact he’s still struggling to do basic things a goalkeeper should be able to do worries me.
Clearly not ready.
I’ll find it amazing that despite the shaky appearances last season and dodgy pre season outings, if he somehow comes in to his own this season and makes team of the year.
That would just about sum football up.
Apparently the 30 days notice was for the month to month plan and not the 12 month plan, even though I thoroughly read both and the option was in both contracts. I wish I had taken a screen shot.
They clearly could cancel it, but won’t. Hiding behind bullshit about viewing rights.
Absolute frauds.
I’ve basically been conned. This is a reply….
“I would like to inform you that, after checking your viewing history and the plan selected, you are unfortunately not eligible for an immediate cancellation and refund at this time. This is due to the content accessed under your account, which makes it ineligible as per our policy and terms of use”
Basically lied in the contract before I signed up. The 30 days notice on cancelling the subscription doesn’t mean obviously mean anything. I’ve got a good mind to block the payments through my credit card.
Unbelievable. I have since found out I’ve been locked into a contract with DAZN, even though it stated you could cancel with 30 days notice.
This is copy and pasted from their site…
“Your subscription has been cancelled as of the earliest possible date. You’ll still have access to DAZN until 2026-08-09 and will be charged until then”
These lot are taking the piss. I can’t even contact a member of staff about it as they don’t even have any to contact.
They wanted a further months payment to cancel
This tallies with what I saw before signing up to it. I saw that you can cancel with, but 30 days notice. I hope I can watch the next match with the £15 I’m going to be stuck paying. If I have to pay another £15 to cancel and not get anything out of it, I’m not going to be happy.
The least they could do is let me watch that and then cancel, seeing as though I could barely watch yesterday.
These charlatans signed a 5 yr contract to broadcast non league fixtures too. Absolute frauds.
guess that didn’t impress you much!
Neither did the coverage.
Sounds a rip off WG hope you don’t get burnt, people should just drop them and let them go under, doesn’t sound like a fan friendly site at all.
I just hope I can get the contract cancelled with 30 days notice. I really don’t want to be paying for that crap 12 months straight. That coverage today was the worst I’ve witnessed. I missed the Ewing goal due to the coverage freezing.
I’ll never ever go down that route again. I was going to listen on radio and even that was messed up on Humberside. I tried listening on there and all I got was Shania Twain and Paul Young.
I cancelled it straight after the match. Beforehand it said you can opt out of the contract with 30 days notice. I’ve just checked my account and it looks like they’re going to be taking money every bloody month until the 12 month contract is over.
I hope this isn’t the case.
Copy and past from the DAZN site
“Your NATIONAL LEAGUE TV on DAZN was removed
You can still watch until 09.08.2026”Last time I’m buying this coverage. This is bordering on unwatchable as it keeps freezing every 10 seconds. Shocking.
I’m cancelling this as soon as this match is finished. 10 times worse than last season.

What’s going on with these trialists ?. Last two games they’ve haven’t even got on the pitch. Begs the question, if you’re not going to sign then and they aren’t getting on the pitch during the business end of pre season, why are they still even here ?
No matter how hard you try, Butler won’t sleep with you 64. Seriously, snap out of it.
“Scunthorpe United is delighted to welcome back defender Oli Rose on a permanent transfer from League One side Peterborough United, signing a two-year deal”
Quality signing!!
What a signing this is. I remember reading not too long ago that Peterborough were looking to loan him out to a league higher up to further on his development. To get him on a permanent contract is outstanding.
This has strengthened us no end. Apart from the questionable options we have as GK’s, I think we’re more than well stacked throughout the squad.
Really pleased with this signing as he looked quality last season.
Whenever you hear of rumoured board unrest, it all tends to lead back to Sharp and George. This supposed inner power struggle at board level isn’t going to end well.
Worst thing Michelle did was hand down the shares to those two. I hope somebody comes along as buys the pair of them out. The ex motorbike commentator that coincidently was a best mate of Sharp who was hired as chief exec can piss off as well.
What does he do, again ?
July 27, 2025 at 1:22 pm in reply to: To Those Who’ve Been To Pre-Season Games – Name Your Starting Lineup. #307654If we are releasing Shipstone and Simmonds then Butler has not been fair with them. To hang onto them until a week before the season begins does not give them much time to get another club!! He should have seen enough of them to decide by now. From is being reported on here is correct he is going to bring in a new player next week that he hasn’t seen play yet.
We have a game on Tuesday, so will more than likely play that to have one last look at them. The new player will probably be a RB on loan. I doubt it would be a permanent RB as Ross is back running on the grass.
Butler must see something in the pair of them due to them sticking around throughout all pre season. Especially Simmonds as he started last game and scored.
Surely the new player has to be a RB. Butler must like Simmonds, as apart from Spennymoor, he’s featured in every game. I bet he starts Tuesday. Not a listed game so will be a behind the closed doors type of deal that we’ve recently agreed with a local-ish team.
July 26, 2025 at 10:16 pm in reply to: To Those Who’ve Been To Pre-Season Games – Name Your Starting Lineup. #307644No Rowley or Horton either presumably for fitness reasons
Butler said post match that both will be back early next week. Horton took a knock to one of his feet and Rowley had a slight thigh strain, but as I said both will be fine start of next week.
Butler also said we have to sort a few thins out before hopefully another signing coming in next week. That will more than likely be the cover for RB.
July 25, 2025 at 7:19 pm in reply to: To Those Who’ve Been To Pre-Season Games – Name Your Starting Lineup. #307613I can’t believe I’m about to say this. I’d go Rory Watson ahead of Campbell.
Nothing about needing a midfield general and world class keeper I see
Why would any team need a world class keeper if they already have two goalkeepers such as Campbell and Watson ?
Well, my mind has been blown if they don’t want to accept fans’ money.
I wonder if they’re still pissed off due to the pressure fans put on them scuppered that deal with that cowboy outfit ?
This boards worries me. All this about the club is the fans not ours, we’re just the custodians…absolute load of tosh.

Seems to be one of those “fatigue injuries” that Butler harps on about.
I forgot about Rowley. Anybody know what injury he’s picked up and how long he’s out for ?
Watson pulled off a good save with his feet, but the was always a pretty good shot stopper, only thing back in the day was that he was terrified of crosses.
I hope he’s more comfortable with that part of his game now.
Simmonds must be rated by Butler as he’s been involved in every game we’ve played. Simmonds scored a good goal according to match report.
