Hull City was put up for sale in 2014 and sold in 2022.

    [/quote]

Hull City was sold when the Allams were in danger of having to fund it, in that period they trousered a non-returnable six million quid deposit from a buyer that didn’t complete, well over twenty million in interest payments to themselves, and many millions in group tax relief.
Abridged version, Hull City was genuinely up for sale when it suited the paper shufflers.

…could be that people are nervous around that, as Oldham fans are.

    I feel for Oldham fans.
Prem to National League in 27 years.
Founder members of the Premier League too.
The very best of luck to them!

I’ve only ever been to one Premier League game and that was Oldham v Everton, I was going to watch us at Chester but got held up at Haltwhistle for 90 minutes because of roadworks and traffic lights not in sync, Neil Pointon played for Oldham and Peter Beagrie played for Everton that day.

Slightly off piste but the last two Premier League games me and Awaywego went to together we saw the first ever Premier League goal and Man Utd beat Ipswich 9-0, absolutely no bonus points for names of scorers in either.

    Closet Mancs eh? 🤭

“I didn’t slag it off, I said the standard must be pretty low for us to get an award and I will standby that comment based on my own experience.”

Given that Hull City won this award when the Allams were in charge, the same Allams that scrapped child, OAP and disabled concessions, it’s a very low standard.

The feeling I’m left with is that the club’s been a play-thing for him and his sons and that Mrs Wharton’s*** stepped in and said “enough”. Of course I have no evidence for that but it’s my recollection she sold her Wilko shares for a great deal of money, some of which probably ended up with the club and I know how my wife would have reacted in a similar situation. Evening meals would have been interesting…

*** Hopefully at meal times you get your wife’s name correct! 🤭

There you go TW is it because you like steelworks and envy ours.

I can’t stand Blackpool, every time I’ve visited it’s rained, the only time it didn’t I was arrested*! No further action though, and despite the rumours my only brush with plod. 😁

    * Twentieth birthday ‘present’ for me.

Reasonably happy with any of the 3 left standing, Fylde would give another potential weekend away in Blackpool. From my perspective I’m really looking forward to the new season.

I’d rather have a weekend in Mariupol than Blackpool!

Probably agree with you there Deerey I didn’t think ironic was the right word, Jems racially abusing players and separate changing rooms for whites and coloureds, being doing so since 2019 and yet the players can take the knee but not contact the police, what the hell is wrong with people, i guess there traumatized, maybe they’ll put a claim in against the club for not looking after them, Ps I thought the knee was supposed to say they’re not going to stand for racial abuse any more. Please explain someone.

To save others the bother, ‘coloureds’?

Twowrights ,”This regular remembers Fans64 praising Wharton and his running of the club “.
What ? Bucksiron would surely be “spluttering in his tea” with that comment!
The communist leader of the “Wolfie Smith” supporters club wouldn’t praise a “silver spoon “ entrepreneur ,would he?

BI can splutter and you can scoff, it’s still true. 🙂

The regulars who remember 1500 club and his monumental essays ,the regulars who remember Fans64 and his never ending criticism of Wharton and “Big hair” Laws ,must be asking the question “where did our number one “fans”(!!) disappear to?
And also why did they spend hours and hours posting without praise for the club only put downs?- I never could understand their mentality.

This regular remembers Fans64 praising Wharton and his running of the club, especially when Cardiff and Hull were dodging bills and looking for new owners, fact.

You’d have been better of with Stevenage or Barrow dropping down. Oldham have a better chance of returning than those two would have had. As ever though, time will tell. 🙂

Life has no ultimate meaning in your “worldview” Bucksiron. Remember you’re just trying to create meaning that isn’t there! Or are you suppressing the truth?

My ‘worldview’ is that life is very precious so enjoy it while you can, but ultimately we are only here to perpetuate the species. As for football, there’s no way I could deny myself drinks, and putting the world to rights, in the pub before and after the match in the company of good friends. That said I can’t remember the last time I watched MOTD, and I’ve never had Sky. 🙂

When I called fans out for booing KK on you (if the cap fits) defended their rights to the hilt, I booed and called the players out and I’m in the wrong, really? I can’t bloody help it that it was a split arse who got on to me, if it was a male he would have got the same response. Perhaps we will have to provide ear protection for the youngsters so they can’t hear 100 or so regularly singing “your f ING shite” in repeat mode, NI. Bet Sunderland fans have done worse eh NI.

Hey Andy, is your wife called Flo?

Siderite said: ‘Johnson, likeable? etc etc’

Someone must have liked him at some point. Mayor of London. Prime Minister. Obviously things emerge and perspectives change … but ‘likeable’ is such a vague and especially subjective term. For example I quite ‘like’ the bumbling, manipulative, biffing, bonking, ‘I’ve never done my homework and am not starting now’ old buffoon …. but thats not the same as trusting him to run the country. The alternatives offered … Jezzer and Sir Keir … would you want to have a few pints and a laugh with them? ( oh… non football!) errrr …’would you rather sit next to them on a coach to watch us at Solihull Moors or would you prefer Boris?

Actually I’d hold my nose and travel with Boris, we’d have a coach full of booze as the rules don’t apply to him, or so he thought. 🤬💩🍑

Hilarious that something like this was done when Swann is on the verge of selling the club.
Sums up how slow some of our fans are!

Rot, today is the 8th anniversary of the FA telling Allam to shove his name change guff, if we’d had more gits like you he’d have got his way and would still be there. To save you the bother, it took him a few months to find a buyer once it is actually started to cost him money to run the club.
