It’s fine assembling what appears to be the best squad in the league if we haven’t either a tried and tested manager or a stadium to play in.

Let’s hope he lasts longer than the last player Hilton signed from an Aberdeen club.

    No apology required

I usually apologise if I make a mistake, maybe that’s the difference between me and the likes of you? It’s a thing called manners, a word sadly lost to civilisation long ago.

    FFS.
I clicked on the quote button on the wrong post.
    Nobody died.
    No fluffy animals were harmed.
I’m sorry, ok, does that make you feel better?
You can stop crying now, go give mummy a hug, it’ll all feel better later, I promise.

Maybe it’s the miserable bar stewards that haven’t one good word to say about the club they say they support.

This is a more interesting comment that some might think.

I’d definitely come under the “Hilton-sceptic” camp here but it is not because I haven’t got one good word to say about the club. It’s precisely the opposite. It’s because I care about the club that I will always question those running it. What are their intentions, what are their motivations, what is their background? Because I want what’s best for the club and I don’t want its name to be dragged through the mud. Look at what the last 10 years have done to us: we’re a complete laughing stock and even when we were flying higher under Swann we were deeply unpopular around the leagues for splashing the cash & a chairman who picked so many arguments with people in the game. I want Scunthorpe United to be respected as a club, not just for its achievements on the pitch, but for what it means to the town, for its youth teams, for its social engagement, in general for doing things the right way.

I found it almost impossible to proud of the club under Swann and I don’t want to feel that way again. Hilton, for me, has got off on completely the wrong foot and has made many of us very sceptical. It’s on him now to change that perception.

Ultimately, I’m an optimist and want what’s best for the club. I don’t want us to go the way of Bury, Darlington, Chester, or many other non-league clubs. I want a Scunthorpe United we can all be rightly proud of.

Up the Iron, up with questioning.

    Cracking post.

I imagine Lord Kitchener will internally combust trying to process a dual position on the matter

I do hope so, she’s obviously not playing with a full deck.
Says one thing on here and something completely different under her own name on the Happy Clappers site.
Just an attention seeker, I could think of other names for her but I’ll save those for later.

with greatest of respect to you if we see the new shirts or any of the new players donning them on first week in august i will be surprised, we are gone ,

    Based on what?

Well, well, well Ellis, why are you so interested in anybody’s opinion on here?
I thought you’d made it plain on your Facebook thread that you have no time for either this forum, the owner and moderators or indeed the members of the forum.
Then why do you put yourself through the obvious trauma of reading and posting on here?
You even have your own thread in “non football”, perhaps you’d post your explanation in there.

Will I be receiving an apology?

No apology required or will be offered.
It was simply a case of pressing “quote” on the wrong post.
A senior moment plus it was early in the morning, perhaps too early.
As for the forum member it was intended for, I see he’s now on the fans Facebook page almost daring the forum owner to ban him, if it were me, I would oblige him.

Been away this weekend so didn’t read I fully ,now have .
This amused me from Michael Kent “there are a few who claim to know it all because rumours in pubs,”
On Iron Bru ,same person”been talking to a Gainsborough Trinity Director this morning and asked him if we get kicked out of Glanford Park would we be playing there and he said they haven’t been approached.”
    Oops.
As for the rest, bunch of snides apart from Martin who has always been up front about his disdain.
It’s quite irksome that people who did nothing to help when it was more difficult to run a site like this with little or no money before the lazy the lazy method(Facebook groups) and start having a pop and calling users on here sad.

Worth noting that Michael and Ellis have both been clicking “like” on each others posts since their outing each others usernames on Facebook.

It’s worth noting that at the same time the same person who started a thread on Facebook slagging us all off was posting on Iron Bru.
His posts on here gave no clue as to his dislike of either the forum or the people who post on here, unlike his Facebook posts.

EFA – I have a better offer. I don’t need first, I’ll settle for business class.

WOW thanks ..great to know there are so many kind and helpful Iron fans out there.. i will add this option to my list of considerations.

Okay. If you reckon IB’s relentless dirt-digging is helpful, then fair enough.

    I don’t!

So, because you don’t think it’s helpful, you want it removing?
It’s 2023, we’re in Britain, far too much censorship from people who don’t agree with others views or opinion’s!

on another thing n a heads up for anyone else it may concern…made an enquiry re buying the new kits .. postage within UK ok but shipping over seas (Asia) is a not possible .. bit of a piss ball but hopefully can work round it.

For every problem there’s a solution.

No Ironawe it was “A”David White, not the David White that joined tuther site on the 6th of June from what I can see.

It’s been confirmed that the David White on Facebook is in fact David Hilton, he registered his Facebook account originally before his name change by deed poll.
He only recently joined the fans group, which is where the confusion lies.

So, there is no evidence of abuse towards Hilton, only Hilton claiming it without evidence!
Strangely the only people who appear to get angry and challenge others with venom are the Hilton supporters who make these unsubstantiated claims of abuse that don’t exist.
That’s directed at Mr Kiplings mate Pat.

Once again, just because you haven’t seen or heard it does not mean something didn’t happen. Just for the record yes I am a Hilton supporter as at the moment he has given me no reason not to be. I will make my decisions about him based on what he delivers, not rumours from people claiming to be in the know on social media.

Still trotting out the same hyperbole without addressing the questions asked.
It was YOU who claimed Hilton was receiving abuse via private messages but you either can’t or wont offer any evidence!
it was YOU who appeared to lose your temper and aim abuse at anyone on the forum who politely asked for evidence of this abuse towards Hilton.
I suspect this claim of Hilton not feeling wanted by the fans of Scunthorpe United and this abuse he and people like you are claiming but can’t or won’t provide evidence of is in fact his pre-emptive exit strategy.

Some have questioned, but abuse has been little.

You have no idea what personal messages he has been sent, just because you haven’t seen it, it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen!

So, are you insinuating that you have seen personal messages sent to Hilton?
If, as your post suggests that you have, please share them with us.
They’re obviously not very private if you’ve been afforded the privilege of viewing these messages.
    Come on, out with it.

I have run forums in the past, none that I would care to name, we all have a past. I used to identify sock puppet accounts using IP addresses, but after a while I had to resort to looking at typos, and when this got sussed, I had to heavy moderate all new accounts.

People were using tor proxy to throw us off the IP addresses, they got proof readers to sort out typos, and then they got their friends to join and post on their behalf.

What I’m saying is that it can’t be obvious that someone connected to the Swanns is posting here. But then again we can’t be certain that they are not.

An extremely long post to say………… I don’t know!

Do you mean this Andrew Patrick Nally?
    Quoted from the Nottinghamshire post.

“Andrew Nally, of Victoria Gardens, Watnall, will appear before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 24.

The 44-year-old was charged with obstructing an emergency worker, resisting arrest and drink-driving in connection with the incident.”

The same guy that was banned from Glanford Park?
If it is, I met him once, not an experience I’d like to repeat.

Elliott rants, the usual suspects point out that he’s out of order, soon after a burner account appears, follows usual suspects and hurls abuse.

I think there are question marks around Hilton, but do you know anything of note or is this just speculation?

I was informed earlier that his Rolls Royce had gone, the number plate was DH11 RON, if you check the DVLA site you’ll find that registration number is no longer assigned to a vehicle.
