There was a reason I used the word if (which is clearly defined by the dictionary), following on from BI’s comment, JI. Perhaps you should learn to read before piously browbeating others for something they didn’t say. Just a suggestion. ;-)
I stated I wasn’t there precisely because I didn’t want to cast unfair aspersions on fans; I was merely commenting on an accusation made by someone else. But, hey ho, it’s easier to virtue signal about how more fair you are than others to make yourself look like some balanced individual, superior to others, than to actually take comments as they were intended, isn’t it JustSnowflake. :-
Maybe I should include emojis or bold if commenrs in future, if the intellectual heft of this forum is that some don’t know that by saying if I am not stating that there was any racism displayed. :-)
I wasn’t there, so can’t comment. I was just responding to what BartonIron had suggested. :-)
Displaying passion is welcome. However, if some of them were racist to Nuttall, then those fans don’t deserve any backing.

There’s no point protesting, because the club are definitely selling up. Ask UTI99! :-)
Quite simple…support the “team of youngsters” whilst they play and protest at the end. I suggest a minutes “sarcastic” applause?
That won’t bring any attention from the media. If there is to be a protest it would need to get media attention, otherwise it’s as pointless as doing nothing.

The boxing promoter? He’s still alive. His dad, with the same name, died a few years ago.
It’s OK organising a protest on the pitch but the person we would be protesting against will not be there as Swann is aware he is very disliked
I believe the Oldham owner wasn’t at their game at the weekend. I believe a benefit of it would be to bring the plight to a media spotlight, so it wouldn’t matter if the owner is there or not for this.
That said, I am wary of risking the club facing consequences from the authorities and it isn’t a guaranteed success in its mission to put pressure on Swann. We have a supposed consortium interested and I am not sure if this action would help that along in any way. If Swann was not yet selling this argument of putting pressure on would have more weight.
That said, Swann is not trustworthy, as past promises have not come to fruition, and we know next to nothing about the supposed takeover, so I can’t blame fans for getting impatient on this.

Is that there centre circle sit in v Hartlepool still being mooted on social media? :-)
There has been a tendency from some to have dewy eyes towards our youth as saviours when the more experienced underachieve. I think the recent games show exactly why we shouldn’t rely primarily on youth as our saviours. Sure, bed them in, but they need to be managed carefully.
Throwing them in at the deep end like this is never going to work and will only damage their morale.

Such mismanagement was also a key indicator that the Swanns had flaws in ownership. It wasn’t the reason for our collapse, but shoddy handling of more minor affairs is unprofessional and creates the impression that the higher ups are incompetent.

We have Iron fans far and wide! :-)
What drew you to Scunthorpe, out of interest, smartm?

Announcing it like this is only going to alert the club to their potential actions anyway, which surely kills any point of it, as it will be snuffed out with aware stewards and police. Not well thought through to advertise it so publicly if this is what their plan is.
*Note. This is not me condoning, I disagree with it, it’s just a comment on it being so poorly thought out.
Don’t get Bucks on his climate change and renewables soapbox again! :-)
I have felt that the magic has ebbed away in recent years, with money being a big factor. It used to be that smaller/less fashionable teams like Grimsby, Crewe, Doncaster, Gillingham, Port Vale and Shrewsbury could have solidify themselves in the 2nd tier for a good few seasons if they chanced upon a winning manager of formula. Wimbledon overachieved for years in the top tier.
However, now this doesn’t seem to be the case. You know that teams who drop from tier one to two and two to three will do well next season, due to money and parachute payments. It was always true that the bigger clubs tended to fare well and relegated teams would stand a good chance of a return, but look at it now. Norwich, Watford, Bournemouth and Fulham seem to forever yo-yo between the Premier League and Championship because they have too much spending power for the Championship, but not enough for the Premier League. Likewise, Rotherham, Wigan, Barnsley and Peterborough in League One and the Championship. The effect of money dominates and you have to spend an astronomical amount of money to stabilise in the 2nd tier, which makes a dream like our 00s good run seem next to impossible now. We won’t have the days where Crewe, Stockport and Doncaster can have many year runs in the 2nd tier, because they don’t have the resources, which has killed the joy for me to some degree. The league pyramid benefits are that in theory, even the unfashionable teams can have a good run with a good manager or ownership. It doesn’t really feel that way now, because wage demands and money mean the Peterboroughs and Wycombes can’t have a good stay in the 2nd tier. And while yo-yo teams have always existed, I never got the impression it was as prevalent as today. It just seems to kill the hope when you know that the chances for others is getting less likely.

I see that in the absence of old friends, now departed; Awaywego has taken over the role of chief wind-up merchant.
Don’t worry NI, Bucks is back in another thread. :-)

Of course you would sell as many tickets we would give you Cod, after all your a really big club why not remind us that you took 30’000 to Wembley, by the way what league are you in and when was the last time you finished above Scunthorpe in the lge. Just saying
2020 was the last time they did that, ;-)
Anyone who thinks Joe Biden is in the same league as Trump for sheer narcissism, corruption and disregard for the truth must be living in a parallel universe. :-)
Joe Biden is a lot better for what is happening in Ukraine. God knows what stance the US would have taken under Trump, with his Russian sympathies, and describing of Putin’s invasion as genius. :-)

I have seen many men clap poor performances too. Don’t see why this is a gender issue or a reason for why women don’t belong at the game. :-)

I’m hoping the Codheads win the play offs, we’re in no fit state to be playing them next season!
The only time I’d like to see Grimsby promoted is if they’re going up into the same division as us. Rivalries are pointless if they’re never played. But wanting them promoted above us? No chance!

We all know that was for booing a player on to the pitch Deerey, at Bradford next week I will be fully behind the team and manager like I do at every game I go to, but put in a performance like that again they will get the same reaction I think that is fair don’t you?
Well, Man Utd fans were booing Pogba when he was subbed off, so we’re not the only ones to boo. ;-)
Which Hull away 1-0? :-) We seemed to always win 1-0 there.

No club is too big to go down. Hate that mentality. Most annoying part of being in league one was the condescension from the likes of Forest, Leeds, Sheff Utd and Sunderland, whose fans thought they had no right to be there.

Beating Grimsby with 2 Hayes goals, and Hayes goading their fans after a hilarious defensive mix-up for the 2nd.
Butler’s sublime header v Lincoln the same season to give us a last minute winner when we could score last minute goals.
Flo hitting the bar in the MK Dons playoff before the momentary silence and we then realised what it meant.
Putting on a great display at Chelsea in the FA Cup and going 1-0 up within 5 minutes.
The game where we could relax, knowing we’d already won the league against Carlisle in 07 when half of the Carlisle support stayed to clap our team off. Always had a soft spot for Carlisle after that.

Fair. I misinterpreted your last sentence.
Why would Swann do that? What has given you the impression Swann takes any kind of personal responsibility after these years of constant deflection?
1 user thanked author for this post.
Of course UTI99 somehow tries to make this joke of a statement the fans’ responsibility.
I would like more former players on. I believe Carruthers was interviewed, but that podcast never came to light. I appreciate the lads ate busy, but such things might lift the spirit in such dark times.
Thank-you for the kind words. I can’t speak for every Scunthorpe fan, but I love having games together. I hope we can both recover so we can have have games together in the league.
Grimsby are our biggest rivals and it would be sad to not have that game again. The way it’s going I could see us going bust. :-(

I have tried to give Hill the benefit of the doubt. However, as with Cox before, the ownership issues predominate, but that doesn’t render the manager powerless. The bizarre team selections are on him and the buck with the January signings has to lie with him too. We were told they were his signings, though our lack of attraction to players is a factor.
Regardless, this doesn’t give me hope he can motivate us in the conference. :-(

It is when you realise that tomorrow might well be the last time an Orient away trip happens for a while. :-(
