Demonstrates what a nonsense statistics can be without context.
Many of Adkins defeats were with a very low budget Championship team. Many of Wilcox’s draws were with a high budget League 2 team. Most of the could have (should have) been wins.

I think there are enough donkeys at the Sinking Sands already.

I think you have got to the heart of the issue Deery.
Bottom 3 go down and I think you have to better a point a game to scrape above the bottom 3 so we are probably in trouble.
To be fair Cass Keegan was not bleesd with lots of natural talent. He kept on improving right through his playing career and was a great role model for youngsters. He could run forever though.
There is a bit of the young Keegan about the lad Burns. If he works as hard on his skills he will make a very good player in time.

I think the fog game was against Hartlepool
When I was about 12 or 13 used to go to all the junior and reserve matches as well at the OSG often meeting up with Vinny Grimes who was in my class at school. Remember when Keegan played for the juniors Vinny immediately called him “first team material” which became his nickname until it happened in 68. Best memory in the league cup. We lost 6-1 and only Keegan and Terry Heath did not look out of place against the Gunners who were all bigger, fitter and faster. It was the fullest I ever saw the OSG though – about 18,000 I think were there.
Better than getting our arses kicked by poor League 2 sides.

Not sure he’s that good Mick. Waste of a bit of talent. Did not improve in the slightest while he was here and performed when he felt like it. Which was about 1 in 5 games.
Heard it misfires going back and is shite going forward Mick.

I think after losing to Rochdale and Oldham at home we probably need 4 points from our 2 southern trips to keep the faint light at the end of the tunnel.
Totally irrationally I think we can get a result today. We will need Rory to play really well again but agree with LK the fitness is starting to come.
I am sure Hill will pick Burns ahead of Bunn upfront whenever the lad is fit enough.
At times Burns is his own worst enemy running about like the Duracell bunny but I guess that’s what makes him the player he is. When he is a little older an wiser I think he will play more like a young Billy Sharpe and focus on being in the places of maximum opportunity rather than covering the miles.
Regarding Bunn I think we should remember he has never had that run of games to get match sharp. We have seen with Millen how much a player can improve when that happens. I also think he is better wide or playing as a 10.
Yes and that was when KVV and McAtee and Eisa were playing well.
They are all earning more than we pay and we don’t have anyone with their ability here now.

It was a little more theatrical than Maguire’s poor effort.
The booking was well worth it.

You need to get out more.
I am with CBRP on this one. Even with a season ticket the second half on Saturday was a watershed for me.
If the team can’t turn up why should I?
Will probably suffer it on iFollow but only because it’s already paid for.
To be fair Heath most Iron fans loved it when KVV gave it to the Cods after scoring at Blunder Park in what could well be our last ever league game there.
Not much to cheer since then.

Deleney is a hit for me. League 2 quality and athletic and committed and more consistent than Taft.
Grant is an upgrade on Kenyon. Not much quicker around the pitch but has the nous to be in the right place. Still struggling to last the pace – I think he took a knock at the end of the first half Saturday which probably didn’t help.
Feeney has quality but it looks as if his legs are gone. Has a trick but no pace to get away with the ball and create space. May get better with more games but not so sure.
Sinclair, Pyke and Nuttall have not done anything yet. Not sure what has happened to Jarvis but him and Bunn if fit would probably replace any of those 3 on what we have seen so far along with Burns who needs to play every minute he is fit enough to do so.
Do I blame Hill or the players themselves. Not for me. It is what you get scraping the barrel in the last week of January with no money to spend. The only people to blame are those who have chosen who to recruit over the last 4 years. I think they are called Swann.

Was at pains to point out it was not him and the players that caused the problem.
You are certainly correct about that Keith.

I thought I had watched the worst League 2 team I have ever seen in the first half.
Then I realised Rochdale are only the second worst.
We probably don’t play wingers because apart from a couple of promising but inexperienced youngsters we don’t have any.
Hill might have been able to bring a couple to the club in January if we had not been devoid of centre forwards, midfielders and centre backs that were halfway to competent.
Read hundreds of your posts and they all make pretty much the same point.
Still don’t agree with you though.

Not far off where they were when Mr Swann walked away.
He did leave them with a new ground though.
Oh hang on a minute.

Not listened to the podcast yet but anyone that believes Mr Swann has done everything he could to keep us in the league is being delusional.
Time to honour one of many promises we have heard over the last 8 years or so – and the only promise that now has any relevance. When I leave the club I will leave it debt free.

Not great news for us Flynn going to Walsall.
Given we have been struggling against the bottom teams the last 3 seasons it might be something to look forward to.
I love Manny to bits but not sure I’ve ever seen anyone confirm a nailed on penalty with a second one within 2 seconds.

Gone to shit in the second half.
It’s a hard life being an Iron fan.

Decent first half display.
Hope someone has remembered to give Rory a new contract.

You can tell I had a couple of beers last night watching the Villa game hence my glass was half full.
It’s half empty again this morning. We are not going to move upwards until we can pose a goalscoring threat from free play. Not going to happen unless Feeney, Nuttall, Sinclair and Pyke show us more than we have seen so far.

The chassis only rusts if you get too much O2 in the Fe.

1 down just the 9 to go and we should be fine.
