If we have to sign players with an injury record I think a 6 month contract is an excellent idea. If he stays fit and plays well he will get another deal. If not then we haven’t lost too much.
The astute businessman likes a 2 year deals for crocs.

Seem to remember he was hard working but could be a bit rash. Was just starting to look OK in a poor side when he got injured and Covid ended the season shortly afterwards.
Nothing on the site to suggest there will be Les
Always been a bit of a myth about our tiny pitch. It is a smaller area than planned due to the builders cock up but as NI points out there are a good few around that are significantly smaller.
I think the Lionesses would beat our last seasons team.
They would also beat this seasons team Mick unless some footballers enter the building fairly soon.
Of course every proper lower league side needs a ginger with a short fuse.
Hoping Whitehouse is going to fill the vacancy.
Of course if we didn’t have any racists, sexists and homophobes we wouldn’t have any political correctness.
Its It’s going back a few years but I don’t remember the Alty fans being over friendly when they dumped us out of the FA cup.
Joe Neenan’s infamous knee the bullying centre forward in the bollocks and give away a penalty moment.
We have our own youngsters to develop particularly in defence and midfield so there is little point bringing in young loanees in for those areas.
Did the likes of Wood and Hackney offer anything better than a Gallimore or a Moore-Billam?
Up front is an area where it might we worth a punt on 1 or 2 loanees. Scrimshaw and Burns may well have got a few goals in a half decent side. Goalscoring is more about instinct and confidence than it is about technique and experience. We have had a few young forwards with little experience that have banged in goals at a better level than National League e.g. Sharp, Keogh and Hooper.
Low risk so long as it does not cost us much and we don’t guarantee appearances. We’re top of the league! Yay!
First time we have been anywhere near the top of something for a while. The article is fairly misleading quoting nearly £500 for a season ticket in the executive seating. Does anyone actually buy season tickets at that price. My season ticket was £190 albeit old geezer rates.
Thanks for that Robertson – I had deleted the iFollow app as it had stopped working. Reinstalled it after seeing your post and can log in with previous username/password.

Could you run that by us again in English?
Elliott Whitehouse the first trialist to make the cut.
Welcome Elliott. Has good experience at this level and could be a decent signing.
Let’s have a keeper and a couple of forwards next please Keith/Lee.
Some won’t like the fact he had a spell with the Cods but I am encouraged Keith is prepared to back his judgement on a player he has not worked with previously.

As we have been demonstrating for the last 3 seasons it is really difficult for any player to look decent in a really shite team. When teams don’t make any runs it’s easy for good players to be caught in possession. When teams make the wrong runs it is easy for good players to hit stray passes.
That is why in a shite team we tend to only see maximum effort as a positive and perceived lack of effort as a negative.
Probably why Rory was the only credible candidate for player of the season.
We will never know how good Pugh would be in a team that actually can play a bit of football. I hope he gets that opportunity somewhere else.
Same goes for Cribb, Gallimore, Shrimpton and pretty much the whole set of players but particularly the youngsters. If we can make the massive leap in quality from embarrassingly shite to barely competent as a team then we will see which of these youngsters can play and which can’t.

I have no problem giving it 2 or 3 weeks to decide on trialists. We can probably assume they train OK or they would be gone. We have one more closed doors friendly which is good because you can only assess capability in games.
If we are not sure after 3 games then it is only fair to the players to let them try elsewhere.
My worry is that we only have 5 trialists. Say we are lucky and 3 are considered good enough to sign. That still leaves us 4 or 5 first eleven players short in my opinion.
That 4 or 5 needs to include a keeper and 2 forwards with some decent experience of mens professional football. We won’t find them in a lucky bag.
Nail firmly hit on the head Cass.
Quite optimistic thinking it will go to the last game of the season.

Seems like a Huddersfield U23 Peplow played for us today. Another possible trialist? Judging by the text commentary he got involved when he came on.
Fits our usual profile. Injured already.
Not whilst Mr Swann’s name remains above the door.
Good player for us but not played for a year according to Wiki.
Done. One of my favourite charities.
They are planning to play 46 games of football.
Do you mean what are the owner/coo expectations?
Should be a big improvement on last season when we played football in about 4 of the games.

Same one.
I think it must have been something stronger IA.
No one on here has any idea as to the suitability of the trialists.
The 3 of them have been of National League quality or better in the past but all have been deemed not good enough for their previous clubs. That is why they are on trial.
Of the rest I would say any 11 of them as a team are not good enough for the National League. Any 5 or 6 of them put together with 5 or 6 newcomers that have experience of mens professional football, high fitness levels and a positive mindset would make a team good enough to survive and maybe even thrive in the National League.
Let’s not forget there are a dozen slots in the sick bay to fill. Probably 11 given Hallam’s block booking.
GK – Foster
RB – Rowe
RCB – Boyce
LCB – Taft, Young
LB – Ntlhe?, O’MalleyRM – Feeney, Wilson
CM – Beestin, Cribb, Moore-Billam
CM – Whitehouse?, Gallimore, Shrimpton
LM – Bunney?, LewisCF – Nuttall
CF – HallamCribb and the 3 known trialists added on basis they impress.
Trialists added on the basis they will sign for 10 bob a week and their weeks trial as Amazon van drivers is unsuccessful.
It may be better to have a stripped down squad with something resembling real strikers than what we’ve seen in recent years.
I really want eight in – could we manage with six if it were to increase our striking power?Training – Day Five! Signings – ONE!
Come on Lee and Keef. Throw us a bone here!

As we saw most Saturdays last season they don’t often work weekends NI.

If we stopped paying Hallam about £10k per game we could save a bit more.
