The way we set up tonight was as if the management didn’t think we could win playing the passing the ball game, and told the team to play hoofball instead.

I’d have rather have seen the type of football we played in our last couple of matches. Then we would have seen our best player (Butterfield) running Barnet ragged.

I bought into the whole Swann attempt to get us up to the championship. But learnt my lesson when he got rid of all our best players and transferred ownership of our ground and all surrounding land to his own horse racing company.

However, the tax man has been payed, we have a new chairman, new management team, and some new players. The keeping of Nelson as head coach promises some stability.

So come on Iron, get out there with smiles on your faces, and get some wins under your belts.

All those years under the chairmanship of Swann has left an indelible stain on the mindset of even the most optimistic Iron fans. This is understandable, he run our club into the ground (literally) and it will take years to get it back on track (also literally).

However we have the chance to sweep up with a new broom, and I for one will give the new connections a chance, even if we lose 10 – 0 tonight. It’s gonna take time!

All these years under a dodgy chairman, who constantly blamed each of the plethora of managers for the poor form of a squad built on a shoestring. We now have a new owner, and a new manager. I doubt very much that they will hit the ground running, but this is the moment that we have been waiting for.

So bye bye Swann you cnut, and welcome Mr Hiltonand Mr Dean. The new manager has seen some success at a lower level, and Nelson has been retained on a contract now.

I’m back to being a glass half full man !

I’m not attempting to introduce anything, and my own views have softened as I got older. In the past I hated the Tory party too. Now I vote for them as the best of a bad bunch. I do believe that if I don’t vote at all, then I don’t have the right to complain.

There is danger when placing genetically male criminals in a female prison, this is blatantly obvious. But then there are risks to women when using public toilets, if ‘former men’ are allowed to use them. Then there is the terrible unfairness posed when the old trannies are allowed to take part in women’s sports.

I know a few trans people, both in the pubs and at work. I attended the funeral of a transvestite who died of Covid a couple of years ago. He had many friends, and I am proud to say I was one of them. I’m no transphobe…
