Jerry hasn’t been seen around the club much either of late, has he been sacked as ticket office manager?

You are right about the boardroom somebody is playing games and I do not personally think it is the two who always get the blame. That person too does not deserve the steam off one of your earlies.

As for on the pitch, I predict a managerial change by the end of October and the new incumbents first signing will be a keeper.

I’d have him back tomorrow, he would have scored a bag full at NLN and we would have been champions.

Enjoying this thread, some good points of view and issues raised for/against.

Maybe both sides need to take a rain check and rethink their positions.

The fans buy in is a great idea and I hope something positive comes from this.

That’s funny since the Iron Trust news of being turned down has been met with general opposition from fans and agreement with the club.

    SST sums things up nicely.

So the club need to issue a new shareholding to allow the Iron Trust and any other individuals or interested parties to purchase shares.

It would also allow the directors to purchase more to retain the 80% that negates the need to consult outside the four of them. This would also raise further investment in the club.

SST in one post does worry me, by inferring that MH will sell selectively to some individuals but not others.

Also if £100k of shares was not a viable option to set aside for ordinary supporters or the Iron Trust to purchase what amount would be viable 10k, 25k, 50k or 75k.

As I recall the Trust did advertise for the seller that shares were available, because the seller could not do so and one Trust member on the strength of that bought 20k worth!

Some good sentiment and salient points being aired on this thread.

Surely questions should be raised or concerns muted.

The CEO is employed by the board and fresh out of college as a CEO, I don’t know enough about his contribution thus far or non- contribution (according to some supporters).

His employment is down to one of our directors meeting him along his educational path and believing him worthy.

Geoff Gadie resigned as a director on 25th June 2025. We now have another person appointed vice-president again known to one director.

Several knowledgeable local businessmen are grateful for the club being saved as are we the ordinary and everyday fans are.

However they are raising their eyebrows over a lack of business plan and the fact that several income streams are still not under the clubs own umbrella i.e catering and bars.

The club was saved by generous donations from many quarters certainly among the more affluent fans and supporters with their own
    businesses.

That pot is running dry and some of those aforementioned are critical about what they see as a one way street, with the club taking but not giving back.

Some businessmen who helped have been pushed out altogether, whether that was justifiable or not again I cannot say.

We have been saved yes, and we are grateful yes, but one failing was of us being critical of previous owners and aiming criticism their way, but not really pushing them for important information.

So yes after nearly two years, where is the business plan for sustainability, where are the accounts for the previous 656 days, and what is the mission statement for our club with a realistic timetable to achieve it?

No it does not mean I am ungrateful nor does it mean I am anti-board or anti any single one director. Nor does it mean I wish to know the ins and outs of recent history.

What it does mean is I am interested in the future longterm security of our club, and what if as an ordinary fan I can do to help and assist or even know if I can help make a difference to secure that future.

At the moment outside of four people we are mushrooms, being kept in the dark and very possibly being fed on shit.

Business plan and accounts please as we are entitled as stakeholders.

So we have had a glimpse or think we have in a picture showing a kit on a rack.

The kit is in China or is it?

The kit was delayed as the National League sponsor was not declared sooner. However Hartlepool have theirs from the same manufacturers.

The promotional video is finished but not released last week as promised.

Fact, I haven’t seen it, haven’t bought it and certainly not wearing it!

656 days, well done to Michelle and the team of directors.

It would be nice to have had a shareholders meeting in that time and had the forward business plan broadly outlined to see that our club is sustainable.

Two aspects the previous two owners failed miserably to do, be transparent and inclusive to supporters.

I saw Alan O Meara play he was without doubt the worst keeper ever

Len Bond was on loan from Bristol City, O Meara came in until Glen Letheran was signed on loan from Leeds.

O Meara was so bad, Ron Ashman brought Geoff Barnard out of retirement to replace him whence Letheran went back

I my memory of 50 years ago serves correct!

Rory is a good keeper, played in extremely poor Iron Teams subsequently lost his confidence and got shot to pieces by fans.

Good luck to him, Fitzsimmons was going to be hard to replace whoever wears the gloves, certainly better than Maison though.

Looks like Unity sold us a googly by saying the kit launch was this week.

Still filming for the launch and no sign of the kit in the shop.

Pretty poor again really missing the school holiday period when people like to go away with the new shirts for the coming season.

Alas I don’t have any names, but track keepers mentioned on here some have made only 150 appearances and are aged 29 on average. They have however been capped at international level Wales, Eire etc.

Our neighbours released two (no I don’t want either) and signed Pym from Mansfield who on paper looks a good signing.

I do however watch a lot of football and have seen a lot better keepers than our one at NPL and NCEL levels.

That’s why the situation worries me. There were a few keepers at NLN level who impressed against us.

You’re the only Iron fan that as had a bad word to say about him.

Football is about opinions mine align with a majority of Iron fans on Ross Fitzsimmons.

He was excellent. As were Joe Murphy, Joe Neenan and Muzzy in his second spell. Sam Slocombe and Luke Daniels too Those keepers as with Fitzsimmons played in teams which won things.

Glenn Letheran was very good also but played in a poor team.

Despite the many deflections and distractions in the thread the current goalkeeper situation is unacceptable.

I am all for young talent being blooded and thrust in and when a young talented goalkeeper arrives I will support him.

    Until then experienced goalkeeper required.

The thread set out to spell the need for an experienced goal keeper who has played games at an higher level. That has not changed.

The thread did not set out to destroy any individual. However a lad was handed the No 1 shirt, and told not to read social media.

That was worrying and every Iron fan recognised the importance of Ross Fitzsimmons and his excellent all round capabilities and knack of saving games.

Ross won points and saved games making very few mistakes throughout the two campaigns he was with us.

We need that even more at an higher level a capable keeper who instills confidence in the defence and indeed the crowd.

We simply have not got that at the moment.

    Fact.

Yes, his dipomatic reason was that he “wanted to play in front of big crowds”
So not for more money then? Yeh right!

I know of one Iron supporter who is 6ft 7 and at least two more at 6ft 6 how much bigger does Max want his crowd to be?

There is a reason York let him go, and their assistant manager at the time was previously at Notts County as assistant. Rather oddly he did not rate Fitzsimmons at County, and Ross was not County first choice.

The adage “you can’t polish a turd” springs to mind.

Another thread on Bru deems to undermine the fact that we need a first team goalkeeper.

If we start the season with an unproven keeper who makes basic handling errors we will lose games and be at the bottom of the table.

Most fans I suspect will take a season of consolidation in the National League without the drama of a dogfight trying to avoid relegation.

A bad start sets the rot and undermines a teams confidence. First team keeper needed asap.

Maison did himself no favours with dodgy handling in his performances v Newcastle Town and Warrington Rylands.

The last two seasons we have watched games knowing that our keeper was capable of saving us, once the defence was breached.

Our keeper bred confidence in the crowd as well as the team.

Rory Watson was a good keeper who did not command his box, and unsettled the crowd as well as his defence. Or maybe they unsettled him.

Andy Butler tells the lad not to read social media and has a keeper on his shopping list.
There is a clear message in those two statements

If Mr B does start the season without an experienced keeper and it does not go well, then it will ignite calls for a managerial change, because everybody knows that an experienced senior keeper is needed including Mr B.

Will the cods buy this second kit it looks awfully claret and blue to me.

Isn’t it a shame that this town used to be blessed with excellent fish and chip shops, yet now we have to go out of town to get decent fish and chips.

The last decent one was on Berkeley estate but when the couple Micheal and Carol retired it too went down hill.

Ross Fitzsimmons won games for us as a goalkeeper and it’s been a while we have had that luxury.

Probably need to go back to Joe Murphy since a keeper has done that for us.

I am surprised that a keeper signing wasn’t one of the first announced and even more surprised that as we embark on the pre-season friendlies we still have not signed someone.

The Trust is independent and represents 1200 voices, whereas I believe UNITY was prompted by the club to put a paper trail to a certain persons random/ad-hoc/unaccounted fundraising. UNITY sprung up from the remnants of SUOSC which had been heavily influenced by people who work at the club Jerry (ticket office supremo) and Earl (matchday experience entry technician).

Hence the current splits in UNITY, which was doomed the moment it tried to fallout with the Iron Trust, then has it turned out very dodgy characters involved with certain predilections for young ladies of questionable age. Allegedly.

The question for me is where are the former SUOSC shares? Are they independent or under the control of UNITY.

Maybe Qwerty can answer as this person seems to represent an insider knowledge of Trust/club matters?
