“but racial abuse in this country has been virtually eliminated at football grounds up and down the land ,without this neo- Marxist motivated “taking to the knee.”
And your evidence for this is? And you conveniently ignore the fact that footballers representing their country continue to receive disgusting racist abuse on the internet? Why?
Who has scored the most goals for England – Sterling, 3 out of 4.
Who has suffered the most from racist abuse during the tournament? Sterling.
Yet we still have jokers on here defending the booing, and then trying to claim that they and those that are booing are not motivated by racism!! Anyone that disagrees with them is a Marxist. BPG keeps denying that there is any racist abuse.
Well done Raheem MBE, keep showing the haters that you can rise above their mindless hatred. Continue to represent YOUR country with pride and show up these haters for what they are!!!
“Sterling scored, yes, but for 90% of the game his first touch was woeful.
Kane much the same.
At least Sakha will try and beat a man.
So Vanilla Southgate takes him off.And I was under the impression this Leeds lad, Phillips?, was our main playmaker?
Was he playing?”Alcy – you are such a happy fellow!!
They all played well apart from Kane. I think I saw Sterling run with the ball and beat several men on several occasions.
Genius so far and the players that have started matches in his position, Sterling and Sakha, have also played well. Let’s hope Kane improves after his goal today.
KVV was our own false No. 9 when he played last year, gaining more plaudits for his tackling back than actually spending any time in the opposition’s penalty area.
I thought Kane was more involved in the first half when the other 3 were running at pace beyond him. Simple theory, get to the byline at pace and deliver a great cross. Has worked for decades and Grealish did it.
Southgate shouldn’t be scared of not playing a main striker especially if the plan is to defend well and counter attack at pace.
Greece, Denmark, Germany and even France have won tournaments with defensive mindsets. That’s the plan, but I don’t see it working. We are still giving chances that the better teams will take.
As for the Scots, you are forgetting that they scored a goal. They will be celebrating for the next 50 years or more. McGregor will join those other national heroes (losers) like Gemmill and Narey.
There will also be 40 new hospitals, all built in 4 weeks, all in Hartlepool. And HS3 to Hartlepool via Batley will be announced 1 week before the by-election!
BS – any chance we can keep the taking the knee debate out of this thread and focus on the football? It’s been discussed multiple times before and guess what, we don’t all agree.

He did pick him after he faced a lot of pressure to do it. Not sure that Southgate was considering him as first choice though because of the reasons stated above.
If we transform into a free flowing attacking team in the next few matches like the other top teams then great. The evidence so far is that is not the plan.
The full backs for England were poor compared to the Scots, too few runs forward, James always looking behind rather than forward.
Before the tournament the questions were about Alexander Arnold’s form and Southgate left him out. Not sure what questions Southgate was asking because the stats from the last 2 years provide all the answers for him.
AA, 74 games, 6 goals, 20 assists
James, 56 games, 1 goal, 4 assists. Then we have Rice,
70 games, 3 goals, 4 assists from midfield.
It’s clear what Southgate’s priorities are. Hopefully now I’ve posted this they will go on to win the Euros!!

It was a very turgid performance and no we don’t need both Rice and Phillips.
Southgate is very cautious and is playing them in preparation for when we have to play, defend and probably lose to one of the top teams. Like Eric Dier, not sure at all about Rice.
Kane yet again looks unfit at a major tournament.

Big Job returns with another dismal post and failed attempt to be funny.
And great to see Raheem MBE, who has suffered more than most from the racist idiots, score the winner and have great pride in taking the knee and then represent HIS country.
Bloody Marxist!!
Bigot – a person who is obstinately or unreasonably attached to a belief, opinion, or faction, especially one who is prejudiced against or antagonistic towards a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.
Describes it pretty well don’t you think JC?
So what exactly have you got against a group of black footballers supported by their white team mates kneeling down for 5 to 10 seconds for reasons that THEY believe and support?
What are YOU prejudiced and antagonised about?
Idiots? I’m sure Raheem Sterling is looking forward to all the congratulations and best wishes for getting an MBE from sensible patriots like you and BPG.
Well done Raheem!!
Yeah, you have said that about 30 times before and it’s meant sod all every time.
He’d have to get into the box first!
As for J Charles, we’ve found another one who hasn’t got the guts to tell us the real reason he has problems with players deciding to take the knee. An insult to the great man’s name.
It’s also about time Alcy told us what “real” job he used to do. Traffic warden, railway guard, parky, bog attendant, debt collector, jobsworth???
“Loft was one of our more effective players last season”
Really? Let’s hope you aren’t writing the same at the end of next season!
“Some lovely people on this thread, a great example of everything that’s bad about England”.
They have the nerve to claim the flag and decide what it means to be a true Brit.
Well these dickheads represent the worst of being English or British. They don’t speak for me. In the same way that the Iron fans “representative” on Humberside does NOT speak for me!! Hope he’s not on next season.
I will be supporting England in the Euros, in the cricket in whatever competition. No frigging questions asked!!!!!
Racist, homophobic, snowflake.
Togwell?
“maybe we should look forward to non league?”
A hint of optimism from Alcy? That would be a first.
My question would be that IF Eisa, McGahey, Gilliead and KvV WERE offered new deals and THEY turned them down. Why was that?
Agents??
They are/were our better players but we have had 3 terrible seasons with most of the above. Josh makes a good point, if the wages are correct, can we find 7-8 decent players who are good enough and want to play for the team.
It’s a big bloody IF based on previous recruitment and whether Cox can manage and motivate them. Based on this year’s record – it’s a MASSIVE IF.

Relegate them 3 more levels.
“The point I made at the time was that I hadn’t experienced any problems at all, couldn’t see anyone who had and that I felt the whole issue had been blown completely out of proportion”.
What were the statistics on that from a sample size of 1 evening match. From that you smarmily concluded that all the complaints by REGULARS were made up by supporters with an agenda.
Pathetic. Pat and others have justified multiple times why improvements to the catering and match day experience would benefit loyal supporters and the club with increased revenue.
Yet the man who hardly ever goes to matches still thinks he knows best and repeatedly calls regular attendees moaners and groaners or the usual suspects!!
How many games have you watched this season? You started this thread as the angry man, but you have quickly reverted to calling anyone with a valid complaint or suggestion moaners and groaners.
All topped of with your usual whining about defamation and your implied threats of legal action.
“The real irony is that accusing someone of lying when they haven’t done so can be grounds for defamation”.
There you go again with your legal threats. Nobody knows who the F you are, other than a sad man who likes to wind people up on a football forum.
Worried about your precious reputation?
I wouldn’t bother.
“bricks and mortar retailing has crashed since then, especially over the past 12 months due to covid, which has accelerated the move to online shopping”.
Thanks as ever for your “expert” knowledge. I wasn’t aware of the problems in retail.
