Good point and both York & Notts County are not until March.

Even Chesterfield’s on New Year’s Day.

At least in Conference North the away games will be a bit closer!

Put it this way: I wonder if a home player would have received a second yellow in those circumstances?

BTW, in that same game, a Dundee United player was sent off for grabbing an opponent by the plums!

Ojo was at Aberdeen last season – got sent off at Dundee United for being shoved by a fan!

Anyone else find it strange that a number of the closer, northern away games are on Tuesday nights? Altrincham, Oldham, even Wrexham.

From what little I saw of him last season a bit more movement of his own would help Nuttall. In that Hartlepool home game, Wilson worked hard & earned himself a fine goal. Nuttall failed to make runs to help team mates and ended up giving the terrace the finger. He looks like he has something to offer but I would not be rushing to build a team around him.

The article also tells us that their home kit is already in the club shop, no pre-order now receive by Xmas either.

We have not even seen what our kit is going to look like, never mind being able to buy it!

Shoddy on and off the field, must do better.

Have ticket prices even been announced for the new season, other than the season ticket prices?

They are planning to play 46 games of football.

What is the club’s mission? The mandatory fulfilment of fixtures or to win as many games as possible?

If it’s the latter, you would hope there might be a plan to achieve that goal, no?

Might have been harsh on Bunn Ferrite, but honest, 20 apps and 1 goal.

Has he is not yet with a new club others within football obviously agree.

I am now saying that he was brilliant but I thought he was comfortably the best of last summer’s signings and generally the team looked better (less crap?) with him in it. If he’d been able to keep fitter for longer I think we’d have seen even more from him. Still, water under the bridge now.

Squad of 15 according to the OWS – though I notice no one has bothered to add our single, solitary, sole summer signing to the list!

Very harsh on Bunn there Ironking.

What was his ratio here last season

    6%. 2 wins in 33 league games. 15 points from a possible 99.

I’m trusting in Hill, otherwise we’d already have more Jarvis, Mooney, etc type signings in the building.

Well I think we can all agree that Keith “2 league wins in more than half a season” Hill has proven himself without doubt to be worthy of this trust, especially with his stellar signings such as Joe “2 goals” Nuttall, Liam “tricky winger” Feeney or Sam “disappeared by April” Burns?

I’m trusting in Hill, otherwise we’d already have more Jarvis, Mooney, etc type signings in the building.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement of the former chairman, is it?

The only surprise in this post is that it’s taken this long for the OP to begin to lose hope. I thought hope left down several years ago!

Running a successful club is about more than just spending money, it’s about making best use of the resources you have available. It feels a long time since the club over-achieved on its spending.

Where did I mention anything about an increased budget guaranteeing we would get promotion? I said it would improve our chances, as a general rule of thumb teams with higher attendances (budgets) are in higher divisions. Obviously there are exceptions like us when we had a few seasons in the championship.

So it IS possible to over-achieve against your attendances? Interesting….

Which is EXACTLY why the best thing people can do to increase our chances on the pitch is to buy season tickets/match tickets.

If our ‘self sufficient’ budget was based on an achievable 3000 it would make a massive difference to our chances.

I’ll get shot down by those who are more bothered about who the ‘stay away/want away’ owner is though.

Facts are facts though. If we’d sold 2000 season tickets Hills budget WOULD increase!

Hi, can you explain how Morecambe, Shrewsbury & Accrington are all two divisions above us now please? Thank you.

He’ll probably be cheap enough too. CONDITION:- If he was one of the “don’t want to play in case I get injured” party then don’t bother.

No idea either way but I remember him being left out of the squad for a game when we had too many loanees and Hill saying Sinclair was mightily p’eed off about it. Which would be a positive sign.

I wouldn’t disagree with that Mick but equally he didn’t exactly grab his chances to shine when they were offered. He wasn’t bad, arguably one of the best loanees last season, I’m just not sure we saw enough to warrant bringing him here permanently.

Bunn brought precious little to the team – too many injuries, for a start.

Disagree – I thought our most fluent attacking performances last season (a low bar, of course) came with him in the side.

Can’t understand the decision to release Pugh – not a world beater by any means but I’d be surprised if he’s replaced with anything better.

Free transfer I’d be snapping him up anyday if I were another club. Bags of experience can still perform easily just a shame he had absolute trash around him!

You’ve obviously seen something I haven’t from him.

    Feeney £225k

Who on earth is paying £225k for Liam Feeney? A free transfer would be expensive.

Worth pointing out that a bond is an investment – anyone who takes up the offer is investing their money and expecting a return on the investment. I know in the case of AFC Wimbledon they asked people to select a 0% interest rate if they could, helping the club to raise capital, but they were offering returns of something like 7-8% depending on the number of years the money was invested for.

So it’s not necessarily free money for football clubs but it is a potentially useful way to raise capital at better terms than would be offered by a bank.

If we’re pinning our hopes on two teenage goalkeepers for next season then I think we know exactly where our season is heading.

TrasferMarkt says his contract expires on the last day of June. Was it a one year deal after all – or has it changed earlier today?

All players contracts expire at the end of June. I remember during the extended 2020 Covid summer in the Premier League that players had to agree short-term extensions to continue playing for their clubs.

The fact that the players we signed last summer have all now left, several of them in January, is a shocking indictment of the club and how we’ve got to where we are now. I know we’ve had a big turnover of players in recent seasons but this is beyond a joke.

And do we expect it to get any better any time soon? Do we expect Feeney & Nuttall to still be at the club by January? As Les mentions, Taft could be on his way soon. Has Cribb signed a professional contract yet? Will League clubs be watching Owen Foster?

I saw Woolford playing in central midfield for Frickley last season, still had a great range of passing even on those heavy non-league pitches. One of our ex-youth team CBs was there too, Charlie Barks was his name I think.

The importance of capitalisation! You were right, it’s a league match, not a League match. As you were.
