Better going around the ground with a blanket to collect money for a revival fund.

Would need Swanns permission for that and thats not going to happen.

I would have thought we would be eligible for an emergency loan keeper despite the embargo?

So if the Iron Trust set up a Go Fund Me page, for example. We could post it and get people to share it. Also as Captain Cod mentioned, we have some high profile former players who still have affinities to our club.

Botham, Keegan, Clemence, Sharp, Hooper etc.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

    UTI

Add to that list Brian Laws, Nigel Adkins, Andy Crosby, Cliff Byrne, Ian Barraclough, Julian Broddle (who is a member of at least one of the SUFC pages on Facebook and regularly likes posts)

If we sent every company owner who’s business went bust due to non payment of taxes to prison there would be no room in prison for anyone else!! Lester Pigott and others got into trouble for tax dodging or avoidance or whatever you want to call it, basically falsifying what they should have paid, Peter Swann has not done that to my knowledge.

I am no fan of Swann but lets not start beating him for things he hasn’t done.

Could we not use the money saved from not renewing Kgosi Ntlhe’s contract to extend Caolan Lavery until the end of the season?

Hopefully the sale of the club would have gone through by then and we can then reward with a new one at the end of the season?

I don’t think it’s only funds stopping us offering a new deal, I don’t think were allowed to offer one because of the embargo? Happy to be proved wrong by anyone that knows more than me about it?

Only their number 8 looked like a footballer.

Bloke sat behind me said the same thing, but IMO he had lots of tricks but no end product?

Pugh looks much better now that Nelson has taught our lads the importance of movement off the ball. His passes usually find a man now.

Had another decent game. I don’t mind him at left back. Some of the criticism of late has been very harsh IMO.

Lets be right about it, he was beyond awful at Chesterfield but yes, much better on Saturday. I think our long suffering fans have been pretty patient considering what they have had to put up with over the last few years.

I don’t think Pat or anyone on this forum has claimed that catering problems are why the club has imploded.

They haven’t and never have, it’s just more lies from Bucks. What I did say was that the catering was A problem which it was and still is, I never said it was the only or even the biggest problem!

If Bucks was any kind of a man he would apologise for the lies he told about agenda’s and hating wealth, but he won’t his sort never do apologise and admit they are wrong.

He was a wrong un from the start, Trinity fans tried to tell us but were accused of sour grapes! Bucks & UTI should also hang their heads in shame for the shite they gave us that tried to tell them about Swann. What did we get in return??? We were accused of having agenda’s and hating his wealth….arseholes!!!

Mussy (1st spell) and Joe Murphy are the best two I have seen in my time watching The Iron, we had a keeper on loan from Forest who was decent too, think his name was Darren Hayes?

In fairness to Nelson I think got the best tune possible from the instrument’s available yesterday. I have been saying for a long time that Wilson should be in the team, that lad needs to start every game. Shrimpton will become very good player IMO given games. My only criticism of Nelson yesterday was not changing Daniel, he had a nightmare.

It amazes me how much stick Watson got from most on here, yet very little is said about Dewhurst. Watson was 10 times the keeper he is.

So here’s a question for you all. How much is the public sector pension debt? Where exactly do you all think that money is coming from?

    https://www.pensions-expert.com/DB-Derisking/Public-sector-pension-liabilities-break-2tn-with-16-surge?ct=true

Watch the full clip at the top of the thread, that will give you the answer to where the lions share of it COULD have come from!!!

    Not worth a reply.

Which part of the Op is not worth a reply? Are you denying covid contracts were dished out to mates of Tory party members and that millions in profits were made? are you denying you voted Tory?

Sorry, but no matter how you lot try to spin this the fact is that millions of people face poverty and far too many will die directly because of net zero targets, which will achieve

That’s no problem, they just need to do what your beloved Tories told them…..get a better paid job, take on a second job, work more hours or buy a new kettle?

Only two footballers at the club for me Butterfield and Nuttall. I would happily drive any of the others to their next club.

I would add Ogle, Beestin and Wilson to that list, but football is all about opinions, I bet if every poster on here named their preferred starting 11 very few would be exactly the same.

They were almost 150% and at its worth pointing out nobody on this forum- nor on social media- was particularly concerned

I think you will find there were at least 2 or 3 of us on here VERY concerned but we were laughed at and mocked at the time.

Turnbull needs to go. When was the last time he unearthed a gem ?. Turnbull also stated last month that wages being paid weren’t a problem, low and behold the next month we are in deep shit and can’t pay wages of staff and players.

When was the last time it was his job to unearth a gem? And what did you expect him to say about the wages? “We have no money and nobody will be paid”? of course he wasn’t going to say that, at the time Swann was still his gaffer and he would have said what he told to say!

There was so much wrong with Saturday it’s difficult to know where to start really….

Dewhurst, very poor, no urgency with goal kicks when we are getting beat (which is most of the time). In the second half he tried unsuccessfully to stop the ball going out for a corner and in his frustration threw the ball towards the corner flag, allowing a quick corner to be taken while he was still off the pitch!!! Also gets beat far to often from distance.

Jai Rowe, he was awful and should never be played as a full back again.

Midfield, did we have one??? Alfie was trying his best but can’t do it all on his own.

Nobody closing down or pressing to get the ball back, defend from the front yet our “forwards” allowed County to pass the ball around at the back at will.

No urgency, no passion and no fight.

We will go down again this season.
