Probably agent greed scuppered it this time, but he’ll be off in January to a league club IF he continues scoring. So a significant risk for Joe and his agent. I’ll bet Mr. and Mrs. S. are livid though at £100k slipping through their fingers.
My thoughts too. Can’t blame him really as he’s not getting back into the league with Oldham anytime soon.
Still, respect to him for turning down a better financial deal to remain with us for the time being. It is a risk.

Can’t keep continuing to ship the amount of goals we do and expect to keep gaining points. Injuries and poor form will catch us up and we are back to losing every week. Have to start winning games.
Great effort from over 400 that travelled tonight too.

Agh women’s football see West Brom women changing the colour of their shorts from white to blue in case they leak while on their period, bloody ridiculous.
What a weird post.
Looked impressive on the highlights yesterday- should’ve had a goal or 2
On a side note Oldham nearly pulled in a 10k gate vs Wrexham, surely they will have the budget to tempt him to move?
Has to be a 6 figure fee surely with an agreement he doesn’t play against us.
I’d be astounded if it’s 6 figures
Keeps the lights on for another month.
It’s difficult for us to judge this isn’t it? Because crowds aren’t terrible this season, you might have thought that things would be ok since our crowds are not dissimilar to a number of clubs in this division and even in higher ones.
Can only imagine Nuttall was brought in on the unlikely basis we would still be a league club.
I really didn’t rate him last year but in fairness he had turned it around and was turning into a useful player at this level.
It is a sign of how desperate things are though; just cannot see how we survive this year.
Keeps the lights on for another month.

Scoring whilst behind is a characteristic we haven’t shown in a long time so credit to daws for that.
We are still needing to score 3 goals to win games and that will happen once in a blue moon. If we don’t address the defence we will be relegated.
Weirdly our fate now rests in Swann’s hands. He has to increase the budget to allow us to bring in a defender or 2.
I still don’t think this team is currently good enough to stay up but can’t fault that result today.
Good on Daws too. May aswell stick with him until the ownership is resolved. Certainly no worse than Keith who would have lost that game

Thank god for skybet early pay out!
Backed them at 6/4. No cost of living crisis with odds like those
Laws day has come and gone and if wallowing in nostalgia is what we are reduced to its because the reality today is too harsh for most fans to take. We had some glorious years under Wharton, Laws and Nigel and now it’s gone, such is life it’s tough but it is what it is.
Most supporters are wallowing that Tom Pugh has returned. We are desperate

How much more depth we need in centre mid? 11 centre mids including a couple out on loan. We stockpile players for no apparent reason.

Complete joke of a transfer policy. Pugh was below average for most of last year, perhaps no worse than anyone else and harsh to be released but the lack of interest in him proves the point.
No centre back/left back despite crying out for competition in these positions.
And we wonder why we’re shite
Really feel for you in this terrible situation having been through something very similar with my club. It’s bad enough facing admin but it really is worst case scenario if that is coupled with no ground of your own when trying to pick up the pieces.
When our owner pulled the plug we at Darlo had no players, no stadium and very few other assets but we’re now fan owned and looking at finally building our own ground although there’s still a long way to go.
Hopefully you find a white knight from somewhere that pulls this back from the brink before you are hurled over a cliff. Sad to see yet another club facing these awful times and facing such an uncertain future.
The situation at Darlington was even more farcical than here, George Reynolds truly was a crook and had similar delusions of grandeur with the Reynolds arena. Wish Darlo all the best.
Regardless of what swann says, administration looks more likely by the day. The results on the pitch hardly matter now.
I’ve wrote to the Iron trust for an organised supporters protest- i doubt anything will come if it but if we are to go out of existence it would give some comfort to know we made our voices heard in some way.

I don’t think we will go in to Administration.
I think long term, it’ll either be sold or dissolved.then the Vultures will pounce.
I hope they like bones, because the Swann has the meat

Administration is being mentioned more and more on here.
Is it really looking that imminent? If there is no takeover on the horizon- which is looking more likely by the day- what other outcome is there ?
If crowds continue to fall- which they will- Swann is either going to lose the means or the will to cover the losses.
I’ve seen rumours we are losing 90k a month which is being covered by Swann, how true that is I don’t know; that is also a contradiction to what he has stated previously about us being sustainable this year.
Neil Wright and the Iron trust must read this board. It would be appreciated if there could be some dialogue over these issues.
To be blunt: at the moment we are coasting into the oblivion and it feels like no-one really gives a fuck anymore.
For the first time I’m wondering if a phoneix club is going to be the best solution overall, and it hurts to say that. The current scenario is soul destroying and I’d rather be watching competitive football in the North East counties- with supporters enjoying themselves- then this current set up.

As it stands- as far as I’m aware- we have no major debts to creditors, which is usually the biggest obstacle to exiting administration with a CVA.
Things could change significantly if Swann decides to stop covering losses, which I’m still at a loss about because he stated we would be sustainable this year.
Takeover bid collapsed with the group whom an offer was accepted in July. No proof of funds allegedly.
Nothing from Swann on the group whom Cox was apparently helping out.
Apparently there are a couple of groups still lurking around.
In short- we are heading towards admin.

Has there ever been such a lack of interest/ speculation on a managerial change?
going bust,defunct,bankrupt, closing down
I think the current owner will continue to fund the Club until he sells it – which means it won’t go bust or bankrupt.
But aren’t we now running at cost according to a previous chairman statement?
No disrespect intended towards Cox- the deal could well be on the cards, but looking at it logically- and from what I’ve heard- Swann is not willing to accept their bid.
Can Neil help orchestrate a consortium of folk to invest at least £6million to buy the full lot, and complete negotiations with an incompetent narcissist? – I remain highly doubtful.
The other, maybe more realistic scenario is the purchase of the club itself which surely can’t be worth more than £1million. We are then left as tenants – probably in the NLN- with dwindling crowds as the majority will still remain away whilst Swann has his paws on the assets. Will a consortium be willing to buy the club with no real tangible assets?

Don’t know Mick.
I’ve heard of a few bids put together during the last months, everything seems to be collapsing though.
Realistically, who is going to pay 6million for the ground/land/club… that’s just for the takeover and then you’re going to need another million or so to invest in the team and keep the club running. Allegedly, despite what Swann has said about the club being sustainable now, we are losing money again. More money to keep us going.
In my opinion for what’s it’s worth:
I honestly can’t see a route out of this now other than liquidation. We will stagnate in the NLN next year and crowds will drop too well below 1500. At this point you will probably get a divide in supporters with some sticking by the original club, and others wanting to restart. I can’t imagine there will be enough organisation for a phoneix unless the trust/Elliot etc became involved.Allegedly we are losing money again now despite Swann stating we were sustainable previously. How long will he continue plugging the gap until he’s had enough?

Dead in the water from what I’ve heard; that’s both bids.

Wasn’t his finest post after such a poor defeat, but some of the abuse he is getting on Twitter is ridiculous.

Well, that’s me done till Hill goes.
I know a new manager will change nothing but the bloke is a bell end.

We did use to make excellent use of the loan market; Toney, Yates and Crooks were top class recruits. Thomas
And slater ended up in the championship for Hull and Coventry. Even the berated george miller is now a regular league 2 scorer. It’s obvious the problem lies within the club and not the loan system. Doesn’t help we can’t seem to construct a balanced team anymore and have 5/6 players competing for 2 positions when left short in others- as has happened for the last few seasons

Hopefully brought in as a winger and we see a system change.
Still need a striker and centre back desperately.
The national league north seems to be league where basket cases reach rock bottom on terms of the football pyramid; If you don’t have things sorted there, the next drop is liquidation.
Turnbull releases a statement almost every week and Neil openly makes himself available for supporters to engage with at home games.
Picking on the wrong fellas I’m afraid.
