Look forward to Cox putting his own stamp on the squad. UTI!
Should be a good squad Uptheiron69, you could probably be able to join Cox’es coaching team, you are simlar in football knowledge to his present crew, in fact you may get a game if you stand out in training.
Les, I think that we know how things will work out next season pal, just have a look at the list of retained players, six new guys will not turn those into footballers.
It is even worse for me, after watching the shite turned out over the past three seasons at GP, I now find that we have a wooden spoon contender in our Scunny Speedway team who have a weak team lined up for us supporters, with three reserves in the squad of seven, so the bloody misery continues throughout the year ha ha!
We already have enough Jonah’s in Swanny, Cox, Lillis and Mussa, but you say that he has now signed for Mansfield, he must want to remain in league football.

And apparently you’re not allowed to eat them. Although I’m pretty sure I have done in Poland!
Northumbiron——I am sorry pal regarding your statement that people are not allowed to eat Swanns, I feel sure that Awaywego and Uptheiron69 has had a good attempt to ha ha!

And let’s not forget that in this country Swanns are protected by law.
I am not so sure about that Northumbiron, Swanns were known to lose a court case which cost the club over a million pounds, And I am sure a Swann did not get backing from the law when it came in contact with the NLCC, but I agree that their nesteggs will probabnly stay in their clutch. I just wish that they would turn into ugly ducklings, but we all know that their worth will be a prized asset in a few short years.
I thought that the second half was really good, and after watching 69 hours of Scunthorpe brilliance this season, I had forgotten that there can be shots on target, and brilliant saves, the two saves that the Leicester keeper made were world class saves.
I wasn’t bothered who won, but Leicester just about deserved it, and pleased for them, it sure made their players, management, fans and club owner very happy.
Also pleasing to see a club owner gain his deserves after doing what his family have done for Leicester City and the City, I cannot see him taking the ground and land from their supporters, he was just so happy being accepted for what his family have done for them, they really love him.

This is the second year running I’ve come 4th! Are you sure this isn’t fixed?
No Oppidum, like mmyslf, you blew it on the last two sets of matches.
My record is 3rd, 4th, 2nd, 2nd, 1st and 3rd so better luck naxt year OPP.
Many thanks to Matt once again.
Nice to finish as one of the Big Six!
Or should that be Forum Six?
Still a member of the FORUM SIX Northumbiron, you cannot get out of it as easy as that, it wouldn’t sound right being the FORUM FIVE ah ah!! have a goods closed season pal, or can we say that we have just had one of those.
I was joking when I said about popping you clogs BS, i have now changed my mind your quite obviously suffering from dementia, your failure to remember what I have said repeatedly about attending at the Glan Siro is very sad, dementia is a very cruel illness I hope you don’t hang on to long and suffer even more than you are now.
There is no dementia here childish twat, I may even live longer than it takes you to grow up, and it is very sad when you wish anyone to die, God help you.
So you ‘punish’ the 11 players on the pitch because you hold a grudge against one man.
Very grown up.
It is not a case of him having a grudge against one man, he will be the same as many others of us that turn up every week to gain some entertainment, and enjoyment in watcxhing our team, but as he says, there is no enjoyment whatsoever in watching our team playing under Coxes defensive, boring pathetic system, we are luckey to see the team have two shots on target, never mind seeing a goal. Surely you can see this, or are you just winding us up ????

Is your support of SUFC conditional upon it being an EFL club? I’d support the team whether it were in the EFL or Central Midlands League.
Stay wity them Uptheiron99 and you will get your wish.
I was commenting as a supporter, you having an office at GP puts you into a different bracket to us, in all these years on this forum, neither yourself or Awaywego have never ever had one bad word said against SUFC or any of it’s staff, whilst this is not possible as every other person can see the truth.
After looking at the retained list, I am sad to say, but for me, the club is of not too much interest anymore. After 70 years following the Iron, this is the lowest point I can recall, no manager can possibly make a conpetative team out of that bunch, and my biggest regret is losing Gilliead, robably the best player we have had for years.
Many thanks Matt for all your hard work in operating the League, it has been very interesting this year, being very close untill the last few weeks when Toney then ran away with things, well done Toney, and well done Mistertonmike who came with his late run for 2nd place. I managed my top four place for the sixth year running, and enjoyed it as I suppose many others have. Lokk forward to next year and hope you get a good following.
Are the Swanns on the list?
No Inspector, it is May, so you cannot move Swanns at this time of year because they will be sitting on eggs, or should that read “nest eggs” with them just taking the clubs assets in its ground and land.

With this retained list now out.you will probably be able to name your own odds for promotion, and probably 1-7 for relegation.
My list of players that will either be released, or fail to sign the new contracts being offered.
KVV
MaGahey
Clarke
Gilliead
Jarvis
Eisa
Bedeau
Howard
Dales
Turan
Olomola
Butroid
McAtee
Hallam because of his injuries.
Plus some of the youngsters.Lee Novac released by Bradford.
Yes and he wants to stay released.
I thought he was signed on a three year contract at £3,000 per week, so how can he be released.
Good luck Mark, you have caused me a lot of grey hairs with crosses into our box, not sorry to see this info, but good luck in the future, maybe retirement time.
I am still not keen on sacking a guy who has been given far too many sows’ ears to turn into silk purses.
It wasn’t too many weeks ago that he admitted that his attempts at playing a number of systems were failing because the players were not good enough.
I think that I may believe him.Yes Les, the players are not good enough to be pressing for promotion, but this league ghas been very poor as you know, but when Cox stated that the players were not good enough, did he make any reference to the management team that have been in charge for FOURTY SIX MATCHES, and we are ending the season playing worse than ever defensive boring bloody football.
After a few defeats, and a few games into the season, people were saying give him ten matches, then still bottom of the league they changed it to twenty matches, and you do not want me to remind you it has now been 46 matches, and what makes anyone think next season will be any better ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
1 user thanked author for this post.
I feel the same as you and completely agree, I was going to give it one more season because I may give the car up in another year because I have got problems with dry eyes and it is severe in my left one, I can see OK but it is really irritating, and still don’t know what it would be like watching live football.
Hi Mike, sorry to hear about your eyes mate, I have big problems with my own, last week had the cataract op on the right eye, six years ago it was the same op on my left eye, also have glucomer (please no comments regarding spelling, and malicular deteriation, but luck on the bright side if possible Mike, it has been really shocking watching the 46 games on i-follower, just imagin how bad it would have been if we had no eye ptroblems ha ha! I have another left eye op in a few weeks which is a lazer sweep, to remove the foggy sight, after that the next step will probably be a bloody white stick.

You’d have to wonder exactly what quality of candidate we could attract if we did sack Cox.
Please ask yourself Ferrit, does it really matter who takes the job, they cannot be any worse, I am wondering if Swann junior could do it, now he has made such a good job of being head scout.
yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, no manager has ever been in charge of any football league team that has played any worse than this term of Scunthorpes. He has set the team up to play 100% defensive, boring, shite that has been un-entertaining and un-enjoyable throughout the full season, starting with eight defeats, and ending with one win in seventeen boring matches, and scoring three goals in their last ten matches, yes ten matches, and the clown and his two assts are still drawing their wages, and will be carrying on the same shite next season, because it must suit Swann for the team to be where they are for some reason, could being the owner of the ground and land have any influence????
1 user thanked author for this post.
Completely agree BI. But I am glad if he has gone, just for is negative tactics.
Awaywego—–That statement of yours amazes me, Wilcox was a bit negative, but what about bloody Cox, who you speak well of, if any of our players stray into the other teams box, they get a club fine!!!! One shot a game Coxey.
Awaywego—we are different because we have an opwner of the club that cannot see anything wrong in the way Cox is supposedly managing the team. Can you name two or three games out of the 46 played, where you can actually say “I certainly enjoyed watching that game”, if you are thruthful your answer is NO, so after being given the full season to sort something out he has actually taken the team backwards, just think our “LAST FIVE GAMES, WE HAVEN’T SCORED A BLOODY GOAL, AND IN EIGHT GAMES OUT OF OUR LAST TEN MATCHES, WE STILL FAILED TO SCORE A BLOODY GOAL, AND IN MANY OF THE GAMES WE DID NOT EVEN HAVE ONE SHOT ON TARGET”, so we are saying that out of the last 15 hours of action, we have scored three goals, that works oiut at five hours for each bloody goal, and you have the neck to tell supporters not to moan, yes “do not moan”.
So Awaywego, are you expecting supporters to flock back next season to watch more of this boring bloody rubbish?????, because under the clubs brainstrust of Cox, Lillis and Mussa thats going to be whats on offer, and these clueless clowns along with Swanns son are going to be recruiting players this summer for the next manager to be handed, and this saga goes on and on.
1 user thanked author for this post.
I largely agree with BS.
But the ref gave too many free kicks for non-fouls and he owes Stevenage a penalty, I reckon.
Thought Green was ‘a curate’s egg’ – good in parts. I struggle to give him less than average. So do you mean that Green was like an egg, because he could not manage to keep up without falling over, yes you are correct Les, maybe a very large eggcup could be provided for him ha ha!, or better still leave him on the bench.
making it 5 games since we scored a single goal
Correct! And only three goals in the last ten games of the season (and two of them were in the FGR match).
So 8/10 games with no Iron goals. Surely that must be the worst ever run we’ve had. It’s incredible to think two teams were actually worse than us!
Absolutely shocking!
\And even more incredible is thatthere has never been any suggestion from Swann, that the manager would be bladdered, even though Swann has sacked six or seven better managers than the present clueless clown. Entertainment and enjoyment has completely been eliminated from the SUFC under this defensive clown, and he is still here!!!!!!!!
So endeth the worst season in the clubs history, and I have seen all 70 of them, once again it was hapless, boring, clueless, effortless defensive rubbish, making it 5 games since we scored a single goal, and the clueless clown is still the manager, we did manage a couple of backpass type shots during the 95 mins. It would certainly take a real die hard to contemplate renewing their season ticket, never mind even thinking of remaining a supporter of this team, because things are probably going to get even worse next season, and with Cox and Junior Swann selecting the new players, god help us.
HOWARD—5—Nothing much to do, I hope he manages to get a club for next season.
O’MALLEY—5—The winger gave him the run around, along with some poor crossews and corners.
TAFT—5—Not one of his better games, early subbed.
McGAHEY—5—Probably his last iron game, he is obviously not fit and carrying an injury.
HOWE–5—Not a good game, and some terrible crosses.
BEESTIN–7—My mom TODAY, BUT THAT IS NOT SAYING A LOT.
hippolyite–3—Another terrible game for him, what does he do to convince Cox to select him.
SPENCE—6—DAid his best, but in a very poor team, set up not to play to win.
GREEN—4—Needs to get some studs in his boots, spends most of the time on the floor.
McATEE—5—He can pl;ay a lot better than this, probably given up playing to Cox system.
LOFT–3—Ran and ran and ran, but did absolutely nothing, cannot control any bals.SUBS—4—Almost a waste of space, Rowe can only pass a ball backwards, even when behind.
REF—8—-Once again a good ref, we have had good refs in our last five or six games, but the football has been shite in them all.
SUMMARY—-Good luck to anyone that continues to follow this team next season, after 70 years, I for one has had enough, and with the prospects of Cox in charge next season, there is only one direction to go, and that is to join Grimsby Town.
PREDICTION LEAGUE—-Conngratulations to Toney, who has outplayed the rest of us this season and won the league by 50 points, and well done MistertonMick who came with a late run to pip me into second place, I maintained my record of ending in the top four for all of my six seasons in the league, well done guys.

uptheiron69 and Awaywego, I assume that you are the same person, because you both post exactly the same stuff all the time, how can you be possibly gloating after we have finished 22nd out of 24 teams in the bottom division ?????. The club have run up a debt of £11 million pounds and lost all of its best players, on top of that Scunthorpe have WON just ONE match in their last EIGHTEEN matches, and you are stating that Swanny and Cox should be congratulated by the remaining supporters, and what do you mwan by your statement, that “I should now bow out, is that a racist remark because of my age???. Time for you to wake up boy, and stop your 100% management arse licking.
2 users thanked author for this post.
Swanny said we’d stay up so got one right at last. Onwards and upwards.
More likely onwards and National League.
1 user thanked author for this post.
Well as uptheiron69 has just informed us that SUFC are now in league 2 for another season, but I do not think that many will agree that praise has been erned by eather Swann or Cox for us finishing 22nd out of 24 league 2 clubs, and although the lads showed a little more effort than in most games, it was more a case of two very poor teams on the pitch rather than our brilliance, ONE WIN IN OUR LAST EIGHTEEN MATCHES SHOULD SPEAK FOR IYS SELF, without any praise.
HOWARD—4—Another Howard Howler nearly cost us the point today, very licky escape.
O’MALLEY–5—Given a bit of a runabout by their winger, but stuck to his task.
ONARIASE—6—Solid in defence today, but Bradford never put balls into our box.
TAFT—6—Another solid performance.
ROWE—4—Seems to be going backwards and wasted a few bals by his passing.
GREEN—4—Never seems to get involved, just a couple of runs and then nothing.
SPENCE—5—A quiet game today, but did what he could maybe.
KANACAN—6—Played well, but subbed too early.
BEESTIN—5—Not his best game, and missed a sitter with header at open goal.
GILLIEAD—6—Not his best game, but puts in a bit of skill in his game.
KVV—6—Never gave up, but had to gain the ball himself, had open goal if Loft had passed.SUBS–5—Did not improve thinks.
REF—8—Very good ref today, got everything right.
COX—5–Set up the team to play the usua defensive way, but both Bradford and Scunny are poor teams, both had lost their last five matches, but the one point keeps us up in league two, but that miss of Bradfords for four feet late on gave us the luck that we wanted, and probably deserved today/but nothing much to look forwad to next season with this management team and remaining players after Gilliead, KVV and a few other better players of ours leave at the end of the season.
