Every week we read of unsavory actions being taken by club management, true supporters are faced by one thing after another, all the bullshit we have been given over seven years, we now cannot use cash in the ground, we have sunken to an all time low, with results, entertainment and general enjoyment throughout our once enjoyable visits to GP, with many loyal long term or even short term supporters driven from what was a very big part of our lives. So after the ground, car park and training land being taken from us, we have no reason to even go to games any longer, simply because the club is on its last legs, we have lost everything we ever had, and if John is no longer doing the half time ticket draw selling and being in charge of the away team bus, that must be about the last straw. It is difficult to see why such a devoted, friendly and loyal person can no longer be doing these jobs for the good of supporters and club funds, it just points to me, that everything is being done nowadays so that the club fails.
It is difficult to see how supporters can accept any more of this, and it is about time fans got together and demanded to know why the club management appear to do so many things against supporters wishes, I feel that I and a few friends and family of mine have done the correct thing by no longer attending matches, what’s the point!!!!
Good luck John, it has been good knowing you mate.

Do we have a player who has a bun hairstyle? It’s not Turan is it?, Looked in on training whoever it was looked impressive from what we watched, Cox certainly very vocal and let rip into quite a few of them when failing to achieve what he wanted, I wouldn’t have liked it but then again never been in that kind of environment.
Probably the person with the bun you saw at the training ground was an onlooker like yourself, standing on the other side of the pitch!!!!
It is easy for a player to win over supporters if they are good players and are enjoyable to watch them playing, but like the team at Scunthorpe, when probably 8 of the team are not good enough to be playing in League football, in such case it is easy to see why paying fans get on their backs at times, it is the same in any job really, if a painter and decorator is working for you and is making a bloody mess of things, surely you will have a go at him. We have had some cracking players over the years, but right now it is not worth the effort to attend matches, I for one should know after 70 years watching them, and only missing one home game in the past 12 years since finishing work, but I am sorry to say, that the management have ended my enjoyment and entertainment by presenting what they do at GP, if things got better, I would probably return, but I don’t hold much hope with this lot in charge. It is the same as Speedway, I have only missed one match in 12 years, but there is more entertainment in two minutes than United produce in 90 mins, thats why we attend.
Made me laugh when Les said Hippo “NEARLY” scored with a dazzling shot at Barrow, so a missed shot is the thing that has stuck in his mind, that just shows to me that nothing of note really happened during the game, and after listening to it on the radio, that is about it.

Never the abusive fans/trolls fault is it?
And at the same time UptheIron99, it will certainly never be the clubs managements fault, or to be more precice, it would not attract a comment from you or Awaywego69 if it was.
I always liked Goode, it was a very good centre half, but another good player let go, whilst we retain players like Loft, Hippolyte, Jarvis, Turan and Green, there has been something wrong for a few years when you look at the players that used to play for us, just to name one, I always liked Hopper, but again doing well else where down the road, he was outed and Novak kept ha ha!

I will really miss my anual trip to the Rochdale game tomorrow, I think I have only missed 1 of Scunny’s away match at Rochdale in the past 12 seasons. Maybe it’s because it is a nice steady drive along the M62, or the Blue badge parking, only a few metres from the away turnstiles, or be cause we have had some good games at Rochdale, it’s just a pity that we now play the way we do now a days, but sad to say it is no longer an atractive day out for me any longer.
Hope Scunny win, but where are any goals going to come from, not in the Prediction League, but ROCHDALE 2 SCUNNY 0.
BS – jeez, chill your panties and just admit you were wrong. The last 24 league games plus 1 cup game vs Barrow yielded 6 wins…not the 2 you originally stated. Just merely stating facts.
Sorry I was incorrect mate, it should have been 2 wins in 21 matches, and not 25. But either way, it is reallypathetic isn’t it, probably the one win in 18 matches is even worse.
But we lost that 1-0 didn’t we?
[/quote No Cass we lost 3-0 but Mr Swann said it was because of the Covid thing, beause it only effects Scunthorpe players, other parts of the country and other teams are not effected by it, and we have a long injury list of 12 players not available due to injury, whilst this only effects Scunthorpe Utd, other teams do not have injuries.

You seriously need to get a new source of info BS – in the last 25 competitive games we’ve won 6, drew 7 and lost 12. Still a terrible record but stop making shit up ffs…AND SAYING IT IN CAPITALS DOESN’T MAKE IT ANY LESS OF A LIE!
So MR BigLeftToe, my figures are a lot more accurate than yours are, but both set are pathetic as each other, these are the correct results:-
BARROW L
SWINDON L
STEVENAGE L
BRADFORD D
NEWPORT L
WALSALL L
MANSFIELD L
F GREEN L
TRANMERE D
CARLISLE L
CRAWLEY D
BRADFORD W
SOUTHEND D
OLDHAM D
LEYTON D
EXETER L
SALFORD D
CAMBRIDGE W
CHELTENHAM L
BOLTON LSo that gives us 13 games simce a win.
One win in the last 18 gamed
And Two wins in the last 21 matches. So is there any need for you to be bloody clever with your childish comments twat.

Just to remind you Awaywego, under who’s leadership was this so called £11M debt accrued, and who was in charge of the wasting of a lot of this debt, like court and legal fees etc, and paying players £4,000 per week, and having a squad of about 32 professional players, and at the end of the day, our crouds never averaged above 5,000 fans. But the dross our fans have been presented with over the past three seasons, this figure is about 3,000.
Lord Kitchener—-I t was probably before your time as a Scunny supporter, but in my opinion our best days were when we were riding at the top of League 1 in the 60s, that being the present day Championship, we would have got promotd to the top leagueif we had not sold Barry Thomas to Newcastle with about six or eight remaining games. Those were when our gates were often 13,000 to 17,000 games at some home matches, and the football was very entertaining those days, playing a 2-3-5 formation, not this bloody rubbish 3-1-4-1-1 shite like we are entertained with. And we did not have to reapply for re-election many times, in fact I can only remember one occasion. AND WE OWNED OUR OWN GROUND IN THE CENTRE OF TOWN.

I cannot ever remember any supporter wanting Morris dropping, he was similar to Gilliead, most fans attended games because they were playing.
Alexander had a good run of results at Scunthorpe, but he changed the playing system that last season he was here, about January when we were top of the League and playing really entertaining football, he suddenly changed it to do not lose style, we got 3 points from the next 9 matches after that change. We will never know why he changed it, or was instructed to change it, but When I asked him this question,he just said that teams had sussed Scunny out and the system needed changing. This made no sense what so ever to me, whilst being top of the League and winning entertaining games, I will never understand his answer to my question!!!But this topic is about Cox, he must hold the worst ever Scunthorpe managers record in the 71 year clubs League record, I am not certain, but I think that there was a manager called Rooks possibly in the 70s or 80s that was terrible, but apart from the Cox record of not able to win games, the enjoyment is pathetic.
In my 55 years as a FAN – I have never felt quite as sorry for any manager as I do for Cox. (Explanations are surely unnecessary!)
There was a point last season where it could have been tried – maybe. I know I certainly got very frustrated with his tactics at one point. But there was more going on off the pitch than we knew, back then. These are now his players and yey – hit by injuries from before and after Day One!
Squad still incomplete in the second week of the new season. Can that even be arguably his fault?
We are told that he is an ‘incompetent manager’ – this is not evidence when there are other possible explanations.
I argue that, in all honesty, we really do not know.Les—–Surely it is the Manager that has a say on who he brings into the club, it is the manager who picks the team, it is the manager that instructs the players what system is to be played, it is the manager that brings on subs and changes things if they are not going toplan, so if it is not the managers fault that his team keep losing match after match(last season included) and play defensive shite, whoe’s bloody fault is it, it certainly is the fault of the manager at ALL OTHER CLUBS so why not at Scunthorpes ???????????????????????????

August 11, 2021 at 2:25 pm in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #211775He does seem to say in the Summer we want to play a certain formation, but when it comes to serious competition he reverts to another formation that doesn’t work.
Time after time after time this happens at Scunthorpe Mick, do you think that he is being instructed by the Chairman on the system the team plays, surely no manager can possibly be so inept, and also survive with a record like Cox has, all I ever read in Coxes favour is that he is a very nice guy, this may be so, but he is at the same time spoiling thousands of peoples leasure time of watching their football team entertain them!!!!!

It is nearly bound to be Turan that is offloaded, but as you say both him and Jarvis may as well go, even if they claim full wages till end of contract, simply because they are never ever going to be selected for any matches, in fact both should have been pedled long since. And at the same time get rid of whoever signed them in the first place.
Surely a couple of forwards, possibly being a winger and a centre forward are much more in need than another mid-fielder. The thing is, we do not have even one forward that is of League 2 standard, and who is going to score goals out of Loft, Hippolyte,Green, Jarvis and Turan?????, so it looks as though there will be no replacement for a keeper, just hope the Coventry lad is not out for long.
The sad fact is that nearly the full squad and the management are never going to form any sort of team that can stay in League football.

TWO WINS IN OUR LAST TWENTY FIVE MATCHES, AND THE MANAGER IS STILL EMPLOYED!!!!!
1 user thanked author for this post.
August 11, 2021 at 12:08 am in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #211728It’s still a bit early although he is starting to look like a common factor but there’s no chance he will go as theres probably no spare money to pay him off.
AnoldIron——you are saying it is still a bit early, so carrying on from last seasons disasterous record, the Scunthorpe team has the brilliant record under Coxes guidance of :-
ONE WIN IN OUR LAST SEVENTEEN MATCHES. AND TWO WINS IN OUR LAST TWENTY FIVE MATCHES, AND YOU ARE SAYING IT IS A BIT EARLY, CHRIST MAN, THE GUY HASN’T GOT A BLOODY CLUE.
So we are four days into another new season, and we are 24th in League 2 (bottom that is), and already out of the League Cup, by that recogning, our season will be finished by November after another 1st round knock out of the FA Cup, like last season probably to a non-league club, or maybe a village team if one reaches round one!!!!
I like many more are very sad to see our club get worse and worse as each season passes, for Christ sake throw in the towel Swann, you are like your manager, bloody clueless.
2 users thanked author for this post.
BS…we most definitely DID NOT lose our first eight matches last season, not sure where you’ve got that one from!
BigLeftToe—–My information was that the Scunthorpe 1st team started last season with an home record as shown below :-
H PORT VALE CAR-CUP 1-2
H NEWPORT LG-2 0-1
MAN C UN-21s TR’Y 0-4
FOREST GREEN LG-2 1-4
CAMBRIDGE LG-2 0-5
SOLIHULL MOURS FA CUP 2-3
MANSFIELD TRO’Y 1-2
MORCAMBE LG-2 1-1
BOLTON W LG-2 0-1So EIGHT LOSSES AND A DRAW results of the first teams first 9 home matches, so sorry for putting Eight Losses, and just look at some of the score lines for Home matches, and some fans were saying give the manager a fare crack of the whip, and for the record the team also lost 3 of the next 5 home games!!! so your statement that sort of suggested I was a long way off with my eight home game losses to start the season was ONE POINT OUT, and this was for NINE MATCHES, a big deal hey? !!! AND THE MANAGER IS STILL IN CHARGE HA HA!, IT’S A GOOD JOB THE CHAIRMAN DOES NOT HAVE A RECORD AS A MANAGER SACKER ????????????????????????
We have a budget and Cox has to find players to fit that budget, unless of course you want the club to spend more than it can afford.
I thought everyone wanted a sustainable football club rather than someone like Swann pumping in millions?
Half clubs in National league have bigger budget than us according to the iron Bru podcast on Friday night.
The things that you are saying uptheiron99 are correct regarding budgets etc, but these same rules also apply to the other 23 clubs in League 2, so it cannot be singled out as if Scunthorpe are the only club that have a limited budget.
It is the same situation regarding Mr Swann keep making reference to the club being hit by the Covid virus, you will not need making aware that this virus has been a country wide, in fact a world wide epedemic, it has not been limited to Scunthorpe!!!
I am sorry to say, but all clubs are governed by 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw, yes all 24 teams come under these rules, so teams that are lingering at the bottom of the League are have either players or managements that are not as good as the others that are doing better. Todays result should not shock Scunthorpe supporters simply because we lost our FIRST EIGHT MATCHES LAST SEASON, and also ended the season without I think it was ONE WIN IN OUR LAST 10 GAMES, so most of the players have now gone, but we are still being run by the same management!!!!, so will it again be acceptable if we lose our firs eight matches again?????, it certainly points in that direction. We will probably get knocked out of the two early Cup competitions as usual, and be sitting at the bottom of League 2, by September, so once again, we will be like Butlins Holiday Camp, our seasons will be over by the end of September, and budgets and Covid will certainly be the cause!!!

Pleased to hear from you BS. No season ticket for me – said I would not and will not attend another game while Peter Swann is in control. Do you remember his words at that 1st fans forum where he said the club would never be in debt ? That should he leave the club would be in a stronger position ?
Anyway – PREDICTION LEAGUE – you doing it this season ?
No Prediction League either Sanfran, after six really pleasurable years finishing 4th,3rd,2nd,3rd,1st and 3rd, I have my reasons for not bothering this season mate.
Take care!!!!
Sanfran, I remember many things that Mr Peter has come out with over the past 7 or 8 years, just to quote a few:- a brand new £40 million stadium, then after that fell through another brand new stadium nearer to the M180, then £20 million to be spent on the present stadium, Championship football instead of the bottom of League fight now and in the forseeable future, then 160 new flats to be built near the main car park, then a debt of £11 million revealed, then he takes the ground, car park and training pitch land from the club, all the better players released and free transferes brought in to replace them, so the stronger position is a small part of things, but after following the Iron for 70 years, if the football was enjoyable or enen entertaining, I would have still been in I32, but the defensive one up front appears to be well established, and that is no longer of any interest to myself, we will see how many more that applies to???????????????

He’s been posting plenty of crap on the other forum as recently as August 2nd. If that line doesn’t bring him out snarling nothing will.
What my old mate Iron-awe is trying to say is, “that BS printed a few comments on the other forum, but with them not in agreement with the FORUM SIX, they will be classed as crap, or maybe racist crap ha HA!!
Someone said they saw him at the ticket office yesterday purchasing a season ticket.
Yes pal, I was wanting to get my ticket, but they informed me that they have sold out, and they have put me on their reserve list in case someone changes their mind, but I don’t hold much hope really!!!!
He is right here Sanfran, hope you are ok yourself pal, have you got your season ticket or are you also wanting a break??, I am not bothering with a season ticket, but will attend a game or two during the season, but will not commit to the full season, but after 13 years in that I32 Cluggy stand seat, it will be a big change for me, but the past three seasons have been a real tester for all Scunny fans, and for now Sanfran, enough is enough, but hope to see you some time, so take care and good luck to you and all remaining supporters.
It is nice to see a few of my (friends) ha ha!, are missing me, but I have not been on the Forum much, simply because I have not a lot to say really, take care guys and lets hope for a good season!!!!!!

Good win.
Two wins out of three against L1 opposition is an encouraging sign.
I would expect the XI who started today to start against Swindon.
Two wins out of three against League1 teams, I thought we lost against Hull and Lincoln !!!
Les—–Who is the player “Wilson”, any info on where he is from, and age etc?
Nah! Scunny Bunny is the one with the hairy bum!
Yes Northumbiron, you will probably have first hand knowledge of that pal.
HA HA!
I fully expected to read that as another cost cutting project, they had given Turan the Scunny Buny job, I cannot see him being given anything else!!!!!!
Yes Bill (WE), I think I am ok using that word, having only missing one match during the past 13 years, apart from the one’s Covid affected.

Glad to see that the guys that went to todays match seem to be happy with the players they are seeing, that makes me happy and just hope that things are looking better than what we have been served up with over the past three seasons, so well done guys, and I hope that I am completely wrong with my views of Neil Cox. Up the Iron, hope you do well this season!!!!!!!
3 users thanked author for this post.
Great news with these signings, hope they make a big impression to the team, it is nice to see that they are two attackers, well done Cox.
The club do not have any intention of talking to it’s supporters, it just wishes to instruct them or tell them what THEY have decided and what is going to happen. Just like running up a large debt, or cgharging extra with a new car parking charge of £5 instead of the £3, or by taking the clubs ground, car park and training pitch land and placing into their own ownership, they just act on their own ideas without any talks or consultations with fans that have supported the club ever since entering the Football League.
This latest cashless stadium is another killer blow to attendances, not all fans have Bank cards, and lots do not even own or access a computer, all they will now do is join the many others that have had their share of being given constant bull shit and watching boring defensive so called football.
Lets guess what the clubs next brainwave is ??????????????????????????
3 users thanked author for this post.
Heard today from a person that works down there that we have sold just under a 1000 season tickets.
UTI
This information Smudg must obviously be provided to you by Awaywego99.
It will be another little snippet provided by the management, like the new stadium, appartments, refurbishments, and Championship football, we gobbled up all of these for the first six years, but we just ignor them now.
