Eandmee—It is you that is the Dick, obviously we were not to know the sad situation, and have every respect when we are aware of the sad happenings, what you are hinting at, is that Wondergoals and myself were aware of his sad loss. That just highlights how thick you must be. And I did not find out regarding Mr Coxes loss when turning on my computer, I have just found out from your message five minutes ago.
It wouldn’t have been too much for the club to inform Scunthorpe supporters of the situation, instead of just saying “he is not present for personal reasons”, and may I say that I am very sorry for Mr Cox and his family for their sad loss.

Mick—-Why do you say that it was like Alan Knill’s team, why not publish the truth, IT WAS LIKE NEIL COXES TEAM, which it was, it is unreal how supporters always appear to blame anyone but COX!.
This team is made up of players that Cox has brought into the club, it is his system that the team plays, it is his team that gets selected for matches, it is his team that are in the bottom three places in the bottom league, and they have ended up there because of the management of SUFC and Cox has a big say in this pathetic team and their pathetic results, so please refer to Cox when blame is being dished out.
This club are heading full steam into non-league football, it is a sad situation for the clubs loyal fans, but as you can well see, 2,000 have let their feet do the talking, I never ever thought this would happen to myself, but I cannot take any more of the shite that is being presented by the club management, and the fans still turning out must think that it is because of loyalty, but you must be annoyed and sadened like us that have said enough is enough, because management do nothing to halt this situation, and there is a reason for this hidden away somewhere, we must take our own view on why this is happening???????
I fully thought that I would open my computer and read that either Cox had been relieved of his duties, or that he had resigned because of his pathetic record at Scunthorpe, but are having difficulty finding such info!!!!!!
I cannot give rating marks because I did not attend again, and have no intention of going until there has been a management clearout.
Presently I have not missed attending matches, and not missed being in the Prediction League, I thought I would have missed both, but really pleased to just listen or probably watch on IFollower although it is very bad value for my £10. I wonder if Cox was missing today because he cannot bare to watch any more of the shite being served up.
Why not ten more games? that is the number that has popped up over the past two seasons, why only two more, although he is bloody clueless, he seems to be liked by a few supporters.
HE MIGHT BE A VERY NICE MAN, BUT G
HE HASN’T GOT A BLOODY CLUE REGARDING RUNNING A FOOTBALL TEAM, last year it was he has taken over other managers rubbish, well this bloody lot he has assembled is not even league standard, not even non-league.What are the gates down to, 2,447 including away fans ha ha!, they are luckey to get that few, what about cold January days!!!! 1,500 ???

Whilst you keep turning up to see such rubbish, things will remain as they are, simply because I do not honestly think that Swann and Cox know what the hell they are doing. Just all stay away and make Swann take some action, if not we will not have a club next year, amazing that you lot cannot see what is happening.

Peter Swann!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time to Go!!
Absolutely clueless
Don’t destroy our club… do the right thing and sling your hook!!!
It’s a bit late Shooter to say “don’t destroy our club” this has happened already over the past three years. I still have that feeling that land and club bankrupsy has a lot to do with what is happening, it is a very sad situation, but some fans keep saying “give it another ten matches”, the trouble is that this statement has been stated from the beginning of last season, and things never change, well thats not true, they do change for the worse, the problem is that there will be enough of the beleivers that give Swann and Cox their backing, why ho why this is so is too bad to be happening.

Cox is the dummy, Scunny are looking for an operator to complete the pairing.

I think that it is one win in 17 matches, but whatever it is beyond being a pathetic record, but the club owner seems happy enough to let things continute in this vane, so why should we bother.
Just heard on Humberside that the players had just left the pitch for half time, to a corus of boo’s, and well worth them by the sounds of things, and the one comment that never seems to change being “NOT A SINGLE SHOT ON TARGET BY SCUNNY, WHATS NEW”.
Wouldn’t it be great if it was announced tonight that Cox has finally accepted that football management is not for him, and him and his brains trust team of Lillis and Mussa have decided to pack it in after all this time, they have accepted that Swann is once again going to keep them on after failure after failure, and that they do not have a clue on what to do.
Just think, possibly their best player Beestin dropped from a bloody squad like Scunny have!!!!!! Turin gone to non-league Stockport, he should have taken a few more of these clowns with him.
Cass—-we don’t win on Saturdays or Tuesdays you should know that by now!!!!!!!

We really must go along with this “we looked leggy” thing, we have to worry if he suggests that this squad can make a football team, regarding concentrating on defending, has it not occured to someone at GP, that if we play two or even three up front, we might keep the ball up field a bit, there are many more players in the treatment room then ever get selected in attacking positions, it must be great for teams playing us, all their managers need to say before kick off is “look this team does not play with forwards, so you can all play higher up the pitch without any cgance of them having a shot on target, and we all know that if we do not have a shot on target, they are not attempting to win the game (simple).
Defo needs to worry less about others and let them worry about us, ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK.
It’s almost as if Wilcox is still around.
No mate it is not like Wilcox is still around, simply because we did win a few games, or at least draw many, with this clown it is usually defeat after defeat, and boring defensive defeats at that, but Swann seems to like him for some reason?????????

Certainly some strange decisions and tactics from Mr Cox, but he’s the one paid to make them and it will be his head that rolls if the team fails.
There hasn’t been any evidence of exciting attacking football which he purported when he arrived, he’s very much safety first and very wary of the opposition who ever they are, he doesn’t seem confident that we are better than anyone, it’s quite concerning with him at the helm.
Vadar—-Although I agree with what you are saying except one point of yours, you say that “if the team fails, it will be Coxes head that rolls”, but don’t you think that wit one win in our last seventeen matches, this could almost be classed as a big failure” ????, Swann has sacked many managers with far better records than Cox, in fact NONE of them had anywhere near Coxs record of results, and the abillity to get rid of fans, by getting his teams to serve up shite every week.

Question – is he really that pacey?
It’s a really good question. I’m not so sure he is.
Matt—-no matter how fast a player is, he must have the basic football skills at the very least, I am affraid that Green has no ball control whatsoever, he cannot beat a defender simply because he has not got the basic skills to place the ball past a defender and then use his so called speed, his passing is terrible, and how many times has he been seen to fluff simple chances. In other words, he is not and never will be a professional footballer, the same can be said for Hippolyte and Turan, all three should have been binned, but Cox appears to have some hope in Green and Hiipolyte, because he keeps picking them, thats one reason that we have ONE WIN IN SEVENTEEN MATCHES,a bloody pathetic record that still keeps him in a job, like selecting Green, there may be a reason for Cox still being employed, and relegation almost a certainty.

Another shambles, 95 mins without a shot on target, what is matter with this manager, he plays this 4-4-1-1, and after losing Onarise 4-4-1, resulting in the bloody ball coming back into our half every time anyone tried to move forward, this management are taking up out of the football league without any doubt, they are clueless. Young Pugh should not only have been brought on, he should have been selected from the off, how the hell Green ever get selected is beyond me, he is not even National League standard, he cannot control a ball, he cannot pass a ball, and if pathetic at shooting, and wastes the ball all the time, that does not leave much else does it.
My Rating marks for today as could be seen on the I-Follower showing of the match:-
WATSON—7—Did ok and no fault with the goals, made a few good stops.
DAVIS—6—Not too safe in defending and had his part in both goals.
WOOD—7—Played well first half and had him down for an 8, dropped off a bit 2nd half.
TAFT—7—OK, without being outstanding, did not last the game out.
BEESTIN—8—About our best player in a very moderate team.
THOMPSON—6—Plodded away and got in a few saving tackles.
ONARASIE—4—Red carded early which made things difficult for our poor team.
ROWE—6—Did not stand out for his effort, bit of a fringe player at best.
HACKNEY—5—Not the best of cebut games, nothing stood out for me.
JARVIS–5—Trotted about a lot, but this 4-4-1-1 is not a winning system.
GREEN—4—Fast, but has no football skills what so ever, should never start a game.SUBS Did not make things a lot better, and once again never had a shot on target.
COX—4—Clueless as usual, subs were one for one with the team never threatening, Pugh should have started, and one of the centre forwards that sat on the bench, Green should never be considered for starting any match, but Cox sees things differently.
Now gone 17 matches with just the one win, that being the Tranmere game when we were awarded a penalty which wasn’t ever one. But Mr Cox is still the manager, and it appears that he still gets the backing of some long term forum fans, I wonder if they will still be giving it the old Neil this and Neil that when we go into the National League, it will be interesting.
REF—7—Average ref, but even the Italian International Ref Golena could not polish a turd like this match. I wonder if we will be getting a club message from Mr Swann regarding the club, surely it was not Covid or the 331 die hards fault for another inept defeat, surely at some point it must point to club management!!!
I would first like to say that I don’t approve of racist abuse, less still monkey chanting. But I also don’t like this ‘taking the knee’ business.
Personally I won’t boo this, I would simply turn my back on the players while they do it.
This is 100% the same as my feelings, I also do not approve of racism or chanting, but I do not approve of this take the knee thing, and have said exactly the same thing to people, although I have not come into contact with it, only on TV, but I would just turn away from the players if doing it whilst I am attending a game or where ever, I would hope that people would respect my views as well as I do theirs.

Samways—Do you not think that you are using the word “winning team” a bit loosly pal, one win in 16 matches is surely not a winning team!!!, if you had said a team that has just won a match for the first time in months, that would be possibly a better description of the situation.
When you say that the defence looks solid, that is because there are usually 10 of them, I would think that many more fans would like to see a bit of attacking play, it might just tempt us to return to see what is going on!!!, 2,500 gates are not the signs of happy Scunthorpe supporters.
Strange one unless we have a long term injury in that dept and we’re not being told.
Perhaps Mr Kenyon will be spending more time in the commentary box than on the pitch?
Don’t come out with bloody suggestions like that Northumbiron, I have stopped going to GP, please let me listen to Radio Hull without MR Kenyon,, DEFINITELY !!!!!!!!!!!
We really do like him Yosssari, I for one try my best to get him biting, all you do is dangle a bit of bait in front of him and he rushes to gobble it up, it is funny really because in a morning he isn’t too bad, but as the day progresses he get more and more bitter, you just have to laugh and dangle a bit more bait, it’s great fun really, a lot better than going to GP these days, and there is no chance of you getting onto the football club news letter.
I usually post on here at mid-night, Deerey has gone to bed by then, and as I say, when he reads them in a morning, he is a lot less agresive, and with him getting up before eight o’clock in a morning, he has no need to visit his doctor.
Hey Deerey, it is a lot better when you post in a morning pal, it seems so friendly and a bit out of normal, you obviously get out of bed before ten o’clock and have not been to see the doctor ha ha!
No I have not seen any aliens pal, but was in Dover last month on holiday and did spot many aliens whilst there, but they were in rubber boats and not the usual space ships.
I find BS’s joke offensive to people with incontinence problems.
“Why couldn’t the bicycle get up the hill?”
“Because it was two-tyred!”
Now that’s a nice PC joke that doesn’t poke fun at anyone.
Actually Northumbiron, I find your joke offensive pal to anyone that has a medical problem and cannot ride a bike, this just shows how any statement can be manipulated by anyone that wants to cut straws.
Donny Road lads were chanting “get your tits out for the boys”, this is normal,
I remember black players getting racists chants at every ground back in the 80’s as being the norm, shall we go back to allowing that at football grounds as well?
The said banter that was brought up on the club statement that we are bring up on here as completely nothing to do with black, green, red or any other colour, why do you pleople always revert back to the same subject???? That chanting when the young lady came onto the pitch happens many times at sporting events, but as I say as nothing whatsoever to do with racism, so “cut it out” as you preach so often.
Tell us a woke, PC, up to date joke that doesn’t, then?
OK Alkazar, how about this one:- I visited the Doctor on Friday morning in Barton, he asked me what my problem was, so I informed him that “I have a crap at about eight o’clock most mornings”, he looked at me and just said “well that is normal, so why are you thinking it is a problem”,
I then told him that it would be normal, but I do not get out of bed till about ten o’clock!!But the comments on here are from presumably sober old perverts/hooligans in their 50s, 60s and 70s!! One is so past it he can’t even get the words in the “song” right!!
You are DEFINITELY slipping Heathy, you only went as far as 50s, 60s and 70s you missed out 80s.
You cannot find too many folks less PC than me, BJ.
But, forgetting all the tired modern labels – there is something we used to call ‘decency’.
Having ‘a larf’ at someone else’s expense is bullying.
‘Banter’ is what happens only between mates & family you know for certain can take it. If just one feels uncomfortable in a group – it is wrong.
(As a former teacher how many bollockings have I issued over years to gobby, bullying teens who claim that their nastiness is ‘just a bit of banter, sir’.)
Yes – I know there are people out there whose sensitivities can border the ridiculous who can be a real pain – but we must try to live with one another.
‘Love thy neighbour’ takes a bit of beating.
Do I practise what I preach?
Please list all the personal insults I’ve used on Bru over the last decade or so.Les, you have probably answered your own question pal, when you say that you have corrected many teen for things that they have obviously said, in my opiniom there is a big difference to being at school and being at a football match, I know yiu did not make reference about being at school, things certainly point in that direction.
Fans singing “get yourtits out for the boys is heard at other sports, when a nice young thing comes onto the sceen, normally the lady will just smile or laugh and take it as a compiment, I have never seen any take offence. I am sure you will agree that it is just banter and can be laughed off, and certainly not anything that requires an announcement on the club tanoy system.1 user thanked author for this post.
Why are you still banging on about me making every post about racism when I clearly don’t. If anyone’s crying, it’s you ‘pal’. Stop being a bloody baby ffs!
Deerey—this is such an aimless comment of yours, it is a repete of one that you keep making reference to, you certainly are obsessed by racism, and it is a very big part of your life, I have said before, I never hear any of the things you refer to, and would certainly never go out of my way to involve myself with it, Barton must and probably is a lot different place to Scunthorpe, but even when I visit Scunny or GP, I have never heard any racist remarks from fans.
Do yourself a favour Deeret and remove the subject from your mind pal, you never know “but the subject will vanish” and you can not involve yourself in so much agression and bitterness.
ironking—- you are completely correct in what you say, there is no wonder whatsoever that fans chanted about wanting our club back, what does Swann expect that fans will just accept the terrible thing that Swann has done and just contiue turning up as if nothing has happened, it must be accepted that most of that debt has resulted in the Chairmans running of the club over the past five or six years. As far as the chanting, I was not there, but I have been informed that the Donny Road lads were chanting “get your tits out for the boys”, this is normal, and will have happened at every ground in the country, normally the young lady involved just laughs it off, which would probably have been the case against Sutton, it is DEFINITELY normal.
And regarding you not hearing any racists chants, I would bet my pension that it was because there wasn’t any, if there had been, there would certainly have been a comment on this forum from Deerey, and I have not see one.
But this club statement is just to try and distract away from what are the proper problems, and ground, car park and training pitch land is possibly the main one, although there must be a big worry regarding attendance figures of 2,500 gates for early season matches, just wondering what gates will be in Jan / Feb, but again this will be the supporters fault, and no blame whatsoever on the way things are run, or how the team is performing.
Only time will tell, but there are some worrying times ahead for SUFC, I cannot remember ever being such bad feelings between management and supporters in my 70 years of being a Scunny supporter, and a club statement aiming all blame onto fans certainly will not help the situation.
2 users thanked author for this post.
But Swann is still at the helm Les, and it is only the first win in sixteen games, let’s not get carried away just yet,but definitely more positive.
This is so true Awaywego, it has been a very long wait since the last win!!, sixteen long matches since a win, and failed to score a goal in eleven of them, so a 1-0 home win is not really a sign of things to come is it.
I am really pleased to see the lads win today, and hope for a few more, but being honest, I am not really missing my treck to GP, and still feel that it is not value for money, and enjoy not feeling that enjoyment is no longer on offer after 70 long years when I just turned up for every match when available to me.
BS I’m not the one who keeps giving Swann money, You have. Why?.
You have no need to give Sqwann money Awaywego99, you have an office at GP and thus have free access, I logged on to the Scunny v Man C 21s simply because it was billed as a first team cup competition, I did expect three or four young or fringe players to take some part in the game, but was conned by ther club involving eight, if I wanted to see a youth game I would go to one, but not pay for one which was supposed to have been a first tram competition.
