The laws of diminishing returns not yet hit Scunthorpe commercial team yet, the product generally is as cheap as it has ever been but I think we have some way to go before they’re finished.

Whats happened to ironbru, virtually every single comment on here is now a whinge or a moan about something. Yeah i agree the constant asking for money does get a little tedious, but we all have a choice and don’t have to pay up and those that are happy to leave them be. The more money that goes into the club, the more chance of success, it’s not like we have an owner who is taking every penny possible out of the club, the money generated goes back into the club, as Asda says ‘Every little helps’. Also our home fan attendance averages are improving, year on year so the owners must be getting something right.

It’s a space for supporters, who wish to, to chew the cud and have a natter about football and Iron related stuff. Occasionally have a laugh and a few disagreements and leg pulling. Mostly those contributing get along okay, as the above posts demonstrates. Think it’s doing absolutely fine to be frank. Bit like Iron Insider; engagement is optional not compulsory.

Sounds like Random is getting his 60 quids worth and if he is crack on I say. Everyone has a choice to sign up but not everyone has to agree with it, it’s called democracy.

For one thing it’s end of season so not much to be positive about, not that it would makes any difference to me. Nobody’s slagged anyone off for those who are happy to pay anyway.
You say the owners aren’t taking out are you sure, what they do put in would appear they do want to take out at some point, that’s loans totaling £1,381,811 that owners put in last year alone. At the moment it’s a one way ticket fans pay owners loan.
And this like you say all of this on the back of ever increasing attendances, not doing to much right imo.

But in this case Many fans don’t have the luxury of choice to join in with Iron insider many struggle to afford match tickets alone, for some it’s a juggling act on where to spend the pounds they have, can you tell me why they should now miss out on club content, take it you have seen the free snippets that are on offer for second class fans both all of 40 odd seconds long.

The club are saying unless you give us £60 you’re second class, despite people such as I paying full price every game I attend which is most home games. Good customers getting blown off .
I’m getting sick of this club, wonder if insiders will be digging deep 1st when the shit hits the fan financially again.
This regime’s big thing has been spouting “unity” while dividing fans groups ,so far I’d suggest the need a new dictionary

Nail on the head with this post.

Splitting the fan base on the promise of access to a few scraps of info , photos with players and being in the “in crowd” … some have been getting away with this for a long time without paying for the privelage… Maw PD the Ironarmy guys etc

This sums it up for me in reply to Random

I went home and away for years, making a 3 hr journey to see the 6-2 v Huddersfield sticks in my mind, winning at top of the league Bristol Rovers, or getting stuffed 6-0 by Blackpool

But the club are just taking the piss now. I spend my money at my local clubs Grantham/Harrowby.

In case they haven’t noticed the team over the river are playing Top flight football now, last time it was cheaper than getting into Scunny so where are the floaters from Barton area going to go.

There’s even Grimsby fans in Barton ffs!

To the SUFC hierarchy, be careful what you wish for!

    as an OSTSIDER
I see shirt sleeve sponsor has been announced .. so
With the upmost respect please explain how a charitable entity gathering funds for an over seas institution can find the means to “sponsor” a football club , surely all funds should be directed to the charity … is this a philanthropic gesture or what PLEASE CONFIRM.

I am so stressed about this and all the new signings marlarky i nearly cancelled my Saturday Oil massage .. it was only the local ladyboy who saved the day by moving me to an Afternoon slot.

They’re not just aggressively asking for money are they? They’re casting their net as wide as their imaginations will allow and are offering as many different purchasable or sponsorable things as they can. This is an effort to appeal to as many people as possible, in the hope that some of those people will find something they like and spend at least a little something over the cost of the match ticket. I don’t see what the problem is, they’re trying hard behind the scenes to make things work.

I agree that moaning about everything the club tries can be tedious. However, the club does not get some things right, and it’s only correct and proper that people on here have their voice – and moan like fuck if they want to.

Having an opinion about some fund raising scheme the club are introducing isn’t moaning it’s called having an opinion, bollocking Whitehall missing an open goal from five yards out is moaning but there again it’s only an opinion

‘Whats happened to ironbru, virtually every single comment on here is now a whinge or a moan about something’

And also, ‘virtually every single comment’ is factually complete rubbish, and secondly, it’s a similar sort of charge directed at Bru during the Swann and Hilton era’s. So think on.

Scunny are no better than the chuggers we see on the high street, you say it’s not aggressive but it’s in your face all the time on their platforms.
They’re doing so much of it they’re saying they need another sales executive ffs, it’s just like giving to some charities they take your money spend it on adverts or buy places in marathons and the like then charge for said places to create more money to just go on the money go round tree when all I would want is for the money going to help the actual cause. That’s ok for many of you but not for me.
Certainly none of my money is going to help pay the new sales executive, saw the other day somewhere on the new site the club had 106 employees (just looked again can’t find it) Hilton had got it down to 56, just saying.

How about the club doing something tangible by getting the 2026/27 shirts on sale, instead of all other guff.
Suppose they’ll need a sponsor for the announcement alone.

What is happening. I am a season ticket holder and support the club as best I can.I just went into the club site and tried to login to my account. Itnow will not accept my logon because I am now not a member. My credentials allowed me to login into the shop site though.I then (to see if it worked) tried to buy a ticket for the Morecombe match. Again it would not accept my login. I could by as a one time ciustomer or I had to register into Fan base. I thought I already was a member as I have been getting into the site for years no problem. I will not be joining any membership scheme that means I have to pay for information that previously has been free.

He’d have had it down to 0 (ZERO) the way he was going.

Re charities, how do you think they raise awareness? They speculate to accumulate in the same way that business does.

If they paid out all donations they wouldn’t last long. Advertising, sales execs, promotions are all money RAISERS. Not too difficult for you to understand, is it?

He’d definitely would have had it a lot lower he understood part time was the answer for non playing staff being a non league club.
Don’t need to tell me how charities work I’ve had 2 relatives work in them both earning over £50,000 a year, and of course people need paying but why top dollar they are working for a charity after all. But it’s not there money they’re spending is it.
Take the chuggers each one and often there’s 3/4 working Primark New look area, need to clear more than £100 pounds a piece before the charity gets anything, which relates to the new sales executive Scunny want and how much he/she needs to clear before the club benefits.
What new money grabs do fans have to endure cos there’s definitely discontent growing already without the new post.

The club are trying to generate income and trying many different ways to do this and of course we all want a sustainable club going forward.

The concern I have is that the club are looking to the same people all the time to dip into their pockets and not generating income from non-football supporters or the wider community.

Also the clubs attitude is take/take all the time, this would have been a golden opportunity to reward club sponsors at all levels from main club/stand sponsors down to player shirt/transfer news announcement sponsors (deliberately chucked that one in).

Likewise Season ticket holders and shareholders could have been given free access and rewarded equally.

So come on the Iron, work on getting the fan base up and generating income external to the loyal fan base.

Surely one of the biggest earners would be a fully functioning respected restaurant which we have had in the not too distant past which attracts a cross section of the public and not necessarily the football fan.

Read on the new site (can’t find it again) Iron king that they are going to reopen the restaurant for Sunday dinners. The last lot who opened it up again when Stu did his reviews did every day bar the Sunday.
Was extremely popular for Sunday dinners when last opened no reason why it can’t be again.
Need to well advertise if they do as said on the ‘New web page’ thread 4X
