Well I’ve listened to both interviews now, pretty much as expected, I’m not sure Butler understands fans very well. Obviously I don’t pretend to speak for all but I take issue with AB’s view that “he understands fans frustration with the result” No Andy, I’m DISAPPOINTED with the result, I know we’re not going to win every game, I’m FRUSTRATED by the performance which was terrible.
I also understand the logic behind getting squad players game time ready for the play offs but surely he can see that, irrespective of how fit and ready they are, most of them are unlikely to make any significant contribution to a successful play off campaign.

The thing about giving bench warmers game time is that it’s fine as long as they play as a team. Yesterday’s starting XI played like they’d just met. There has to be some sort of formation or tactic.

And when the substitutions are made they need to be to change the game for the better. Not to give Pat Jones game time by bringing him on at RWB when we were crying out for a wide left attacker!

Oh, and yesterday showed Butler why he should have kept Nicholson at the club.

Two truly terrible away performances this season – Solihull Moors and Gateshead. The latter the worst by a country mile.

Only watched it on DAZN. It was a great opportunity to simultaneously sort out my extensive CD collection, which was the far more stimulating pursuit.

‘he should have kept Nicholson at the club’

Hmm, can’t agree with that. It’s okay in hindsight but he was positively shocking before he left, for a long period. So much so, the general consensus on him leaving seemed to be approval.

We’re short on CBs. Evans has been out for a while, Boyce looks like he could be. Barrows will have to sit out the final league games. Belhouan and Horton FB’s filling in at CB. Defence has looked shakey for a while now. We look vulnerable from corners and Nicholson’s long throws yesterday had us in panic mode.

    Apart from that!

We were vulnerable before Nicholson moved on. He was having howlers.

Thought Belhouan was a centre back filling in at right back.
Nicholson had an uncanny ability to pass the ball very accurately to opposition players feet when he was here. Shame because he wasn’t bad at the other stuff. At least Boycie and Barrows usually lump it into a non threatening area of the pitch.
Agree that any new injury to Evans, Boyce and/or Horton will leave us struggling for the playoffs.

It’s a squad game MK. We’ve got fit players ready to replace them like Belehuan and err……. Barrows and err…….. Scales can cover at RB and I think Brogan played CB once.
You saw how effective our non regular starters can be yesterday, nothing to worry about.

Nicholson played about four super games for us at the start of his deal – and I can’t recall another decent game after that glorious start.

It’s only a one-game ban for denying a goal/goalscoring opportunity as a result of using a hand/arm so he should be available to the Wealdstone and Eastleigh games.

The 2 things required to win the play offs are form and confidence. We have neither, Southend are the team with those at the moment and it’s them we need to avoid in the quarters or semis. If that means finishing 6th or 7th then I’m happy with that. Currently, it’s Borehamwood vs Southend and my money would be on Southend! I wouldn’t mind FGR or Borehamwood home or away.

    Looked like a pub player.

Reckon he wandered out of the pub legless, wandered into the tattooist’s and woke up three days later to be presented with a £10,000 bill. Rod Steigers illustrated man got nothing on him😳
