Iron Bru understand Caolan Lavery has been offered a deal by League Two side Doncaster Rovers, following the expiry of his short term deal with the Iron.
Scunthorpe were granted special dispensation by the National League to offer Lavery a contract extension, but it is understood the 30 year old striker will leave Glanford Park this week.
It is expected Doncaster will beat off competition from a number of clubs, including National League side Chesterfield, for the 30 year old striker.
Lavery has been in good form at Glanford Park and has scored 9 times in 20 appearances during his short stint with the Iron.
