What I do know is last week, when we were voting with either hilton option vote or not we were given a list of players who were committed to stay, but only if we voted yes.
The star striker Montel Gibson was on that list. The club put out a offical update 29 hours after the vote he left !!!!!!

The votes are in and Mr Hilton is taking over the club !!!!

I voted no and am now very worried. Let’s hope our board that that scared fans into voting yes are right and it’s a good thing.

At our game on Saturday the team from 1975 are doing a pitch work with the fa trophy we finished top half in league(with the NPL feeding in to football league then) we were one of the best non league sides in the country (my family often remind me I wasn’t born !!).
Now we will not even be in the top 168 non league teams !!!!

I one of the few that have voted no from the start (both votes).
However the last vote (hand over 75%) was 65/16. Not sure how this one will go but all the board/committee are in favor and that’s a fair few votes.

Personally I think it will pass.

Hi – the 3 points deduction made no difference as we were already down.

However a few months ago there was a EGM for passing 75% of the club to private hands also a number of safe guards to protect the club. This was voted in by the season ticket holders (current owner as members club).

However we all got a e mail on Sunday saying deal is off its either pass 100% over or he walks and the board have say the fans will have to sort out a new board if we don’t vote yes !!! We gone until Friday to decide.

We’re in massive trouble !!! Luckily we don’t own the ground so it can’t be borrowed agaist or build on. This may save us.

The playing squad is good (would be play off level if together at start of season) but it clear we have some players being paid good money !!

Really hope I am wrong and we are just benefiting from a generous investor.

    Update from the Lane.

We spending big money (for this level) and results have picked up.

However the chairman has resigned so the next few weeks could be interesting. Will Hilton be our next chairman ? Who knows. We are still a club owned by the fans at the moment !!!

Just before Christmas we’re doing free entry for all which seems very/too generous for a club who main income has always been the gate !

Well the votes are kinda in !!!!

We were not informed about the name of the investor, but they done checks and they are not ideal but are acceptable.

We were asked to vote to allow the board to issue shares etc and bring investment. In the end a vote was approved for the board to return when the members have being given more information including safe guards !!! The vote was about 30 % completely agaist and 70% wanting more info.

    See what happens next !!!

    Is there any positives ?

I am really worried the club will be gone in next couple of years. Talk of paying £40k fee out for a forward. That’s stupid cash. The board are giving this “investor” the red carpet but the fans seen worried. I guess it will be rail roaded through a vote on Oct 1st.

Cheers for your advice, just hope enough at the club listen.

Feels like turkey’s voting for Christmas!!

Any notes for a Matlock fan. Currently the club is owned by its fans (a season ticket give you a vote/share). The board has called a Emergency General Meeting for 2 Oct to tell us about new investor also tp chan̈ge the club to issues shares, so looks like the board want us to vote to pass the club to our mystery man !!
