Would Turnbull actually need to be appointed as a director to be COO though?

You’d like to think so wouldn’t you, but who knows after the last few years…

Says on the BBC it was for an undisclosed fee – I thought we were limited to free transfers and loans?

I’d have happily chipped in to pay off KDT’s contract, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Gutted that Hippo is the one leaving with some of the players we still have on the books – he’s actually looked like one of the better players Hill inherited.

Honestly, some of these players must have been counting their lucky stars when we offered them contracts.

I just don’t understand how we are possibly going to shift players out…

Too many moments where we switched off tonight and were punished – there’s no lack of effort there, just silly passes and the inability to close down on the edge of the box.

Millen looks like he is wondering what he’s got himself into – lots of shouting and organising from RB, very lightweight on the wings with pace but no real end product from Myles and Green.

Not sure Hallam really suits where he was playing tonight but good to see him getting minutes, Manny at fault for the first goal but looked solid thereafter.

Overall there were some positives, but Rotherham took their chances and we just played OK in 20-minute spells.

Shame some of our fans decided to make a disappointing night even worse – a bloke in his 50’s getting kicked out for trying to get to the home fans in a Pizza trophy game is embarrassing.

I think the major problem is that although I very much appreciate we are in an awful position and in terrible form, if we did pull the trigger on Cox – who would want to come here and who could we actually afford?

I feel sorry for Neil, I don’t know if he quite realised the challenge he was facing by taking the job, and I think with a decent squad and budget he would do OK. The club over the last 2 seasons is no place for anyone to learn their trade.

As an aside, I notice Nigel is under a bit of pressure from the fans at Charlton…

Still think the top target is Kelman at QPR – seems they have striker issues again after the midweek game so I’m expecting another ‘it’s been delayed’ interview shortly…

Sorry to resurrect- Kelman out of the squad tonight after coming off the bench against Hull on Saturday. Didn’t play for QPR’S u23 squad yesterday either, could be on his way?

I think if I was this bad at a hobby after 10/15 years I would give it up as a bad job.

100% what we have missed this season – surely Cox can identify those sorts of players?

Can’t see how we could possibly mess it up more than this season, but I am not too confident.

Whether he keeps maintaining he has the club’s best interests at heart or not, or keeps telling us how much he has tried – Swann has well and truly ruined this club. Although we were punching above our weight looking for promotion to the Championship, the decline since then has been truly disgraceful.

Cox’s problem has always been the players he has been given to work with- although I will admit that what he has brought in since hasn’t been great, the budget left was minimal.

The problem now is that I’m not sure Cox has it in him to completely rebuild the team, and we really have very little to build a squad around. As much as I love Lillis I have not been convinced this time around, I think we need someone else to support Neil if he is going to stick around for next season.

At this stage I don’t think another manager is the answer, but if we are going to pull the trigger we need to bring someone in straight away at the end of the season to give them the chance to build something.

Mcatee ‘liking’ one of the Morecambe goalscorers tweets post-game says everything you need to know about this team. Not Cox’s biggest fan but he is clearly working with players who don’t want to play for the club.Twitter
