What’s being demonstrated is that, as usual, there is no resolution coming in this type of debate. Most losing fans leave at the bigger clubs, always remember the Carlisle fans staying behind to applaud the Iron when we won league one in 2006/7 season. Thought it was a nice gesture and probably speaks volumes about the camaraderie that exists amongst lower league clubs. We certainly don’t need a second chamber in its current form but an assembly democratically elected ( say every five years) and consisting of a 100 members, rather like the US Senate, would provide a buffer for consideration of bills going through Parliament just to run the rule over the small print and consider possible amendments. It doesn’t hurt to have a watchful eye looking over certain things being passed that could prove detrimental to the British people further down the line IMO.
