Definitely play both on the left.

He’s great mates with Ian Chapell.
Even though we were not that good, my recollection is that we had a good go at attacking the other team especially in the second half when kicking towards the Donny Road end. 2 wingers and 2 forwards!!

Humberside kept saying they had a special training session thus week to learn how to stop Jay running the game!!
That worked well then. How about training all week to teach the players how to play like Jay!

Cox absent today for personal reasons. Lillis in charge.
The FA appointed two managers, Eriksson and Capello, who were not a great success, but they both played old style Italian defence minded systems.
I agree that we have a group of very talented young players. The top teams in the world would sign Alexander Arnold if he was available, but Southgate focuses on his defensive weaknesses rather than his obvious attacking strengths.
He even picked him to play in midfield. The lad can probably play in any position, but does Southgate think he knows better than Klopp what his best position is? We’ve got three centre backs, two defensive midfielders and Kane spending a lot of his time as an extra right back.
The writing is on the wall.
Good idea by Cox to write his answers on the wall. No wonder he always says the same every week.

MK Iron is right, that’s why the best teams keep the ball so that the other team are running around like mad dogs chasing the ball.
They also can’t be getting much enjoyment playing not to lose football for the majority of every match.
Cox must have missed the keep the ball sessions when he got his coaching badge. Someone also needs to tell him it’s 3 points for a win. Playing for draws every match leads to inevitable failure.

September 5, 2021 at 11:09 am in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #213224“Got the team selection and tactics wrong yesterday IMO”.
It’s not just a problem with yesterday’s tactics is it. Losing count of the number of games when we have 0 or 1 shot on target and when we have much less percentage of the ball than the opposition.
Hard to win many matches with that approach. It’s not as if we are a clinical team on the break is it? No decent wide players or nippy strikers (Green clearly doesn’t have even the basics of footballing skills).
I get that he can only work with what we’ve got, but it must be hard for the players and not much fun when the main tactic seems to be to not concede.
Managed to scrape a few points from the first few matches. But the defenders are under so much pressure every game. It is very difficult to hang on in every match when there is so little intent to attack.

It’s a bit ironic that our “I’m not a racist but, but, but, but ……” posters are so eager to defend their hostility and lack of respect for our country’s footballers using a false link to Marxism.
The same posters are happy to thank Big Job’s extreme right wing hate posts abusing black people, Muslims, women, homosexuals and disabled people.
All supposedly representing the views of the white working class.
BS wrote “I would hope that people would respect my views as well as I do theirs”
Great sentiment BS. How about you and the rest of you respecting the views of the England players and manager? Or are they not entitled to an opinion because they get paid too much?
“Still falls down too easily and loses possession too easily for me”.
You need to take your white glasses of Alcy. Sterling has 14 goals in his last 20 games for England, but you would drop him for falling down!!
Do you really think that the Hungarian racists were booing and abusing our players because they don’t like a so called marxist-originated symbol, or might it just be that they don’t like black people?
Good to see that Alcy is more concerned that Raheem got a trivial booking, than about whether he got racially abused! He scored another goal for his country Alcy if you are interested.
He is a parody account, it is Bad Apple, thanked of course by the idiot BS. You thanked his miserable post praising idiots for mocking and abusing disabled supporters after slamming the club for not painting the disabled spaces, where you park.
What the hell are you thanking??
But the comments on here are from presumably sober old perverts/hooligans in their 50s, 60s and 70s!! One is so past it he can’t even get the words in the “song” right!!

Friday night match!!!!!
Easier to rev the team and players up in public for a match when things are going well. But he would look a bit daft doing it with this bunch. Like supporters, he is waiting and waiting for them to show some spirit and inspiration that’s worth revving up.
August 25, 2021 at 12:54 pm in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #212573Cox has placed the blame on the players a few too many times. Of course they were not blameless for what went on last year, but not good to hear the same from Cox after the first match of the season.

“At the start of the season, I am hoping that we can all come to some sort of consensus on marking players, refs, managers, chairmen etc. All singing from the same team list?”
How dull. Posters are not professional markers, this forum is NOT a newspaper or a mag, and is anyone keeping a record of everyone’s marks (are you?). If they are they’ve got some catching up to do because BS is the only one to have provided any marks in 1 out of 3 games!!
Supporters marks are gut reactions and if players perform like they have no right to have a professional contract, then 0-4 are definitely fair marks.

Great to read your ratings again and pleased to hear you enjoyed the match.

Don’t you think that if Cox or the rest of the staff had seen anything in training or matches to think he was worth picking that they would give him a go??
Look at his Wikipedia page, it will show you why he isn’t being picked. Not much league experience as claimed above. The big question is WHY was he signed??
I said that if we started the season with Loft as the main striker that we were doomed. I didn’t expect him to be the ONLY striker!!!!

It’s nailed on that we will beat Barrow 6v1 tonight, but the sodding Joker button ain’t working!!
Cheers up Alcy, we are in 19th position in the table.
“I’m surprised that you haven’t heard of him”.
He’s been at the club for 7 years.
It doesn’t take much searching in Google to find what they posted. I would expect that the enquiry established whether the posts were what they wrote.
If so they clearly fit 4 and 5 on the scale above and they deserved to be sacked. Interested to see if they bother to appeal, they have that right.
Quote from Cox “he knows it won’t be easy getting into the team as we have a good squad coming together now”.
These new signings need to be good enough to go straight into the team or we are stuffed again.

“I think”, very much doubt it. What the hell are you doing on this site? Have you ever been to an Iron game?
Comparison of Perry’s style with someone we know well, from a Wigan fans site.
“Alex Perry, whose range of passing from the centre of the field can be a real asset, has been pushed out by the arrival of the more conservative Funso Ojo”.
To be or not to be? Are they ever alive?
