At least you were looking on the bright side. We are even worse than you think!

39 goals in 397 games. Had to double check. Last club 1 in 11 for Barrow. Doesn’t look great does it. Can we get Loft back??

“Clever boy”, that’s a joke coming from you. I look forward to Loft tearing up League 2 and you telling us for the 100th time that “we will be alright”.
“Have you never heard the magic phrases?” Yep, about 50 times from you!
Said at the start of the season that if Loft was our main striker we were doomed. His reputation seems to have gone up in the few hours since he left.
There have even been a few “good” comments. He was crap and one of the worst strikers I have seen.

“Shame really because the Loft we know who turns up would tear this league to bits”.
Now that is funny and an early contender for daftest quote of the year.
From a review of his career to date (he’s a 1 goal in 5 games man) and having watched him for 2 seasons, where do you come up with the opinion that he “would tear this league to bits”?
You really see 25-30 goals in a season from him? The Loft we mostly know cannot control the ball, cannot pass to his own team, mostly looks lazy and misses far more chances than he scores.
And during his time here, rather than tearing up the league, he has contributed to us being in the bottom 3 in the league. That we do know!!!
I thought we were only going to get 35 points Alcy?
Is this a sly attempt to get away with adding another 3 points to your prediction?
Good to read you have started the new year with greater optimism.

Did you see it?

Happy for Loft to be sold if Hill can sign 2 better strikers. It’s a big if, because I’m not sure where he will find them.
If the motive is for the club to get money in before he is out of his contact and save on his wages, then he should not be sold.
It’s a chicken and egg situation.
“how did we hand out two year deals to multiple players in the summer (Millen and O’Neill spring to mind)?”
That’s a very good question and should be filed in the Turan box!!
Time for Swann to show he really wants to keep the club in the football league by backing Hill and correcting his mistakes by clearing them out so that others can come in.
No need to reply Alcy, I know what your response will be. We will find out soon enough anyway by the decisions Swann makes in the next few weeks.

I also hope that Loft takes this performance and plays consistently at a level above what we have seen in recent times and improves his goals to games ratio.
I don’t expect Hill to rely on this alone. I hope that he can somehow bring in a couple more strikers, assuming that he can offload some of the no hopers!

“how can a certain unnamed player be slated by one and all over the last half dozen games, and then turn in a mom performance today?”
Motivation for whatever reason?
And playing as a striker in a team with more attacking intent is a lot easier than standing alone upfront chasing hopeless long balls from the back.
Loft’s career to date is 1 goal in 5 games. Let’s hope that Hill can get some players out and bring in 1 or 2 other strikers to continue the improvement over the last few games.

Happy days!
I remember going into the ground and all the Iron fans were in the corner being pelted with coins by the Cods. Awaywego was probably up the floodlight throwing them back!!
The Milwall game is also memorable as they had a good side. Some of the Millwall nutters dressed as surgeons!!
“Merry Christmas to all apart from the forum 6 libtards!”
Yeah same to you. Is the vaccine centre open today?
Newcastle again 1973-1974 for that cup replay. We lost 0 v 3, but never seen the Old Showground so full before. Plus we got the day off school so we could go to the game.

Paddy Madden would be useful in January!!!
Let’s face it, the team is the real problem. Let’s hope Hill can continue to encourage them to improve.

“L2 strikers maybe 10/15%”
Our main striker at the start of the year, Loft, has been very consistent in his career to date as a 1 goal in 5 games man. So the team would have to create many more chances for him to show any improvement in output.

I agree that Scrimshaw and Hackney could be kept if Hill can’t find any better. Let’s hope he can though. Not sure why Scrimshaw is out when Loft and Jarvis are in.
Loft is not good enough and if he isn’t bothered the last place he should be is in the team.

Suggests to me that Hill is trying to get through to January with our players rather than those on loan. Quickest way to get players in January is to send back the loan players he doesn’t rate and get 5 new ones in if the rules allow it.
Let’s hope the rules and current deals allow him to send this lot back and that Hill has good contacts and he alone chooses the loan players.

At least you will know why Tom Pugh isn’t playing.

“A weekly announcement about: which players are ill or injured”.
Do you want them to post tactics (now we’ve got some at last) as well?
Apology for what, think you are confusing me with somebody else.
“excel” not a word that should be associated with a player who struggles to control or pass the ball.
I agree with Alcy about Wilson – we need to see him play before he leaves. Keegan played 120 games before he left at 20.
How can the club (chairman) not give a player a game because he might get injured?

Insults? Pretty good at them yourself. If Hill isn’t the answer, please feel free to give the answer.

If the above theory is true, then why isn’t Wilson playing to up his value if he’s good.

“All I’m saying is, going by the maths, we’re down”.
Alcy wants you all to bow down to him at the end of the season as the only one on here who said we are going down. The guru!!
Everyone knows the team is crap, we are bottom of the league and we know how many points we have. All you are doing is stating the bleeding obvious.
You are pointing the finger at Hill, but somebody needs to manage this team and try to improve them. Looks an almost impossible task, but at least he is improving the players fitness and providing motivation that has been lacking for over 18 months.
