So the team score an away goal at last, was it scored by a forward?, no it had to be an OG!!.
Looking at the teams records, the last away goal was scored on Boxing Day 2021, so a Scunny player has not scored a goal in 2022!!, although I used to attend many away games, and enjoyed the days out, but I honestly cannot see why so many are still attending, only good thing today was that the game was not shown on Ifollower, which saved me a tenner, it was bad enough listening it on Radio, so was spared viewing it!!!!!!!
I thought we look a bit better with Bunn in the side and would like to see him as first-choice forward alongside on the others. But we still won’t do much until we get some sort of structure to our play. Even if that’s just hoofball, it’s still a plan!
I thought that Bunn was not involved at all last night, and I would prefer Burns anyday to Bunn, Burns is quicker and can shoot, Bunn can do neither in my opinion.

I would have been tempted to plant him Ironawe, another reason why I don’t go at home much and deffo not in the east stand, sure your one of the good ones in there though
I think you said that with toung in cheek Awaywego., but when you suggested that Iron-awe was one of the good one’s, didn’t you really mean “know alls”.
I cannot get over your comment “I don’t go to many home games”, there was me thinking that you attended every game, after attending for 71 years, I get slagged off for missing this season!!
Although only watched it on ifollower, I didn’t see anything to start shouting at, the game was a complete match void of worthwhile attacking play, just like every other match this last three seasons, big boot out of defence all the match, we are where we deserve to be getting relegated out of the league. The Cluggy stand really looks very empty and sad.
But Les, we needed to win today, but we never really had a threat of scoring a goal, and both keepers had nothing to do really, how can you really see many plusses Les from a home 0-0 draw????

For the first time this season I’ll be missing a home game voluntarily.
Something about that Rochdale second half finally broke my spirit.
Expect Northampton to bring 400+ so it should keep the crowd about 2000
Well fair play to you Cliff, you have lasted longer than myself.
In response to the op. Can you still get a f for a fiver in Scunny? Asking for a friend, obviously.
You probably can foxstreetfiveseven, but why just have one when you get eleven at GP !!!!
Used to go to Cheesemans myself when Jeff was alive, nice bloke. Dont need to visit barbers anymore BS most of my hair has dropped out nowadays.
Iron-awe, I used to try and get Jeff to cut mine, but usually fell unlucky and got Jack, you say that you have lost all your hair pal, is it nunural, or have you pulled it out watching Scunny these past three seasons, I still have a full head of hair Iron-awe, it certainly helped not having any tax problems.
I noted on ifollower that there was just the one supporter still attending anywhere near my Cluggy seat, he was in his usual H32 seat directly in front of my old seat, but I noted that he was leaving after 71 minutes, at least I used to stay till the 80 the min, but Tom Newey certainly gave the game the thumbs up, while I thought that it was a big kick up field by both teams, and if AScunny had played till midnight, I doubt if they would have scored, and at the same time, neither keeper had anything much to do, and the pathetic ref did not help.
Nice post Iron-awe, yes mate I plan to attend the last game mate, and I still have a Telegraph cutting photo with about 30 kids including myself on it, it was taken whilst in a long line on Henderson Ave. getting tickets for the first Scunny Football League match, I was eleven years old and had my Jack Cheesman basin hair cut, I wonder how many remember Jack and Jeff Cheesman??. I wonder how many more are still living on that photo ?, and how many of us ended up never paying income tax ha ha!!, and how many still attend watching this seasons shite?? I would be there tonight even, but you have to think to yourself, “what the hell am I doing here to watch this boring rubbish”, so the final home game it will have to be, and another £10 ifollower fee just paid for tonights game. I wonder if the Chairman will be there??????, I cannot see why he stole the ground, because he does not use it, could it be for investment reasons????, no doubt Awaywego and UTI-69 can inlighten us on that question.
Hope you enjoy it guys, and lets hope for a win, after saying that I will settle for a Scunny goal scored by a forward and should not be so greedy. The champion Predictor says 1-3, hope I am wrong.
Yes Awaywego, same as you say my friend, but with us old codgers not having much longer to live, a 3rd World War would not effect us so much, even if there is a war, I do not think that Russia would bomb Scunthorpe, because Swann hints or insists that Scunny is the only place that have a virus called Covid, that is why the club is bottom of the league and turning out such weekly shite. Do you think that there is any need for a new ground, with just 2,000 remaing fans, I can remember when some league fixtures on a Friday night at the OSG had 15,000 to 17,000 gates, they were the good days, so as you are looking forward to the National League or National League North, I wish you all the very best pal, as you say I will be in a cemetary, you will be at GP, so there is not a lot of difference is there!!!!!
BS re your attendance record. Don’t forget to knock off all those tax dodging years when you were abroad supposed to be working, that should knock the attendance record down a bit. As for me, 58 years attending Scunny games man and boy, plus I paid tax all the way through my working life plus I’m still paying it now on my pensions. Some of us class as proper patriotic Brits eh BS.
I had a bit of a laugh a couple of days ago Iron-awe, I was giving my study a well deserved clear out of unwanted papers and clutter that is generated over the years, I thought of you pal when I found and shredded piles of old documents, one document was a KBR tax letter dated 2003 when working for KBR an American Construction Company, I had been with them for five years and never paid tax before, although I had been non-resident of the UK for over 30 years, and always spent less than 90 permitted days in the UK, KBR had stopped me £29,400 Tax for the year, when I asked them what was going on, they informed me that they had a new Finance Manager and it was called Hypothetical Tax so the 400 London Office staff of KBR did not have any gripe, best thing was that this money was kept by KBR and nothing was paid to the IR, I resigned and started in West Papur Indonesia the following month, the bent new manager chased me for a yerar trying to get back my air fare from Egypt to UK, so I did pay tax that year pal.
If you pay tax on your pension, you obviously get far to much pension, so you were paying tax all those years, and also monthly pension contributions, whilst I was having a goodtime, I only get State Pension because I paid NI contributions. Take care and just accept that your taxpayments are being sent as part of our £15 billion world aid fund, it is therfore helping your people out really ha ha!
It was well known that they had green clothing and a green van mate, but if you think that they are on to you, it is possible that you contacted them to hand yourself in !!!!!
I have not attended myself, but have paid the £10 ifollower fee to all games shown, and that included the 46 matches last season when attending was void, so last season cost me £460 instead of my season ticket at £220. I cannot recall how many years that I have attended Scunny, but possiblky Iron-awe will have knowledge of my record ha ha!, he usually adds his nasty little comment on that.

Never missed an home game in 40yrs BS and am not going start now.
In that case pal, I would keep a sharp eye out during the present period of time, because the green van may pull up in the car park and take you away to the nut house in Lincoln, so please keep it quiet n order to protect yourself!!!

“When will we be relegated”, that is simple, relegation was started when Cox was made manager, it was fully confirmed when he was kept on again at the start of this season by Swann to make sure of non-league football for SUFC, there is no possible way of avoiding it this season, and administration will possibly follow.
I am wondering who is footing the bill at present, because the club must be losing money every week, there are possiblybetween 1,900 and 2,100 home fans that still attend, and this will probably get worse, how can the club survive??????, looking at the area of the Cluggy Stand where my season ticket seat was, the whole area is empty, you do not want me to tell you once again, but the past three years of what has been served up, has driven most of us away, there is only so much supporters can take except possibly Awaywego and UTI-69, then being management relations they have to attend really.

February 19, 2022 at 9:52 pm in reply to: Petition Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire Council #232292Sorry about the spelling in the title. Should be NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL
Hell NLI, that spelling is worse than mine pal!!

The last thing I heard Swann say was that supporters should all be at the ground backing the team, at the same time as he himself is not to be seen, remember that the team has won just FOUR games out of the last FOURTYSIX matches, Christ!!!!

His end of season statement could be a classic !
You already know what he will come out with Sanfran, firstly it was the Covid virus that hit the Scunthorpe area, secondly it will be shortage of paying supporters, and not because he drove the club into big debts of £14 million pounds, sold all the better players and allowed that clown Cox to manage the club(for 12 months too long) and bring in his dross players that have served up continual unentertaining dross that took all enjoyment out of attending matches. Or that Swann has fallen out with the New Stadium Contractor, North Lincs Council, the EFL and every others that had got in his way. Keith Hill has been brought in when Cox had made sure of club relegation, this is obviously part of the plan, and every thing that Swann has promised has turned out to be bull shit. I really feel so sick that I listened to his bullshit, and fully supported him for five years, but my anger of the past three years really hurts to see our club leave the Football League after supporting them since that first League game in 1950. I feel sure that Mr Swann knows the fans opinion of him (except Awaywego and Upthemiron69), who I feel sure is Swann junior, so why does he not put the club up for sale and get his arse to Blackpool, no one will put any offer in for the club until it is put up forsale, he knows that!!!

I am presuming that their report was constructed after interviewing Awaywego and UpTheIron99, only those two could contrive such information, that is assuming that those two are not just the one person posting with two different names.

Cass, you say “where did that free kick come from,” the answer to that was from one of many mistakes that the terrible clueless ref made, it was plainly a dive, but it sure was welcome, and that was some free kick!!!
I am sure you have the 7 minutes highlights to form a full opinion coming up soon. :-)
No my friend, I watched the full 94 minutes on i-follower, so no real need for your comment, maybe it would be more apt if you let us have your opinions on the match.
Siderite, have you ever though of adding an “N” in your password, between the (S and i).

A really hard earned three points from the game, our first home win since October.
Oldham over run Scunny during the first 35 minutes, but did not take advantage of their many chances in our box, Rory came to the rescue a few times, but in general it was a very poor half, Newey summed it up by saying that Scunny were not poor, but dire!!.
Overall with Walsall having 58% of posession, 5 shots on target to our 2, and that we only managed 1 corner during the full match, it was dire as Newey said, but the lads stuck in, and even with ten men, Oldham never looked a team capable of winning, even agains Scunny with only ten men.
The game was not helped by na really terrible ref that managed to get many things wrong throughout the game.
WATSON—7—Would have been 8 apart from his poor kicking.
PUGH–3–Was having a poor game till he brainlessly got sent off after he had and earlier yellow, but he does these hard fouls in many a game, isn’t this his second red??.
ONARIASE—7—King pin in defence.
DELANEY–6—Thought that he was also strong in defence.
MILLEN–6–Did ok, and great free kick for our goal.
ROWE—5—Thought that he made some good tackles, but a bit wayward with some passes.
GRANT—7–An old head which our team has been lacking.
SINCLAIR–4—Not very productive, and should have been subbed when he did not agree.
BURNS—6—Ran his arse off, he never gives in, will be a good addition.
PYKE—4–Very poor involvement and was not really involved in much.
FEENEY—4–Another player that did not do a lot, hope that these guys improve.GALLIMORE—6—Looked good, and could be a regular later this season.
REF—3—Cannot give more than three, poor sending off with Pugh, although he often gets into trouble by his tackles Rory should have received a red, Walsall player should also been red carded, and Walsall should have had a stone walled penalty.
ATTENDANCE—3—A crowd of 2,123 including about 150 Walsall fans sums up the Scunny fans feelings after the Oldham showing, but all other teams in the bottom six apart from Oldham all lost, and what a difference the table would have looked if Scunny had taken the win last Saturday, but we are still miles behind, and did we really deserve the 3 points tonight??, it could well be that Scunny will be fighting Walsall, Carlisle and maybe Barrow / Colchester for league status, Oldham might easily escape, but where are Scunny going to get seven more wins, if we struggle when playing teams like Oldham and Walsall????
THESE ARE MY OPINIONS ONLY, AND MAY AND WILL NOT ALL BE THE SAME AS OTHERS, SO PLEASE GIVE YOUR VIEWS ON THE GAME.
1 user thanked author for this post.
The problem for Scunny is that now the new owner of Hull City has signed an agreement with Humberside, their first two matches have both been on the main Humberside programme, so Scunny and Grimsby will have to be available for the chaff that is left, in my opinion the teams out of the three clubs should be on the main channels if they are playing away games. IFollower is ok, but it is not like attending games, you have the home comfort obviously, and if your team is playing crap football you have not wasted half a day with travel, car parking, tickets and fuel costs, and arriving back home feeling pig sick. But it is your choice if and when the match is screened.
Iron-awe—–I take your point mate, but I did say at the beginning that I could only comment on the seven minutes of highlights, and it wasn’t on i-follower, but listening to Lee Turnbull summary of the match, probably seven minutes was more than enough to cover the whole game.
I did also say that you being present at the game, would know more than anyone else, but you already know that reading your comments, anyway it is on i-follower tonight so I may give my views on the game, and as you say, your opinion will obviously be more accurate, so enjoy it and hope we see a goal or two.So if we had eight new players most of whome are not match fit, why the hell put all of them in the team on Saturday, we are all saying that our original players are now a lot fitter than they were a few weeks ago, so why not include more of them in the starting team, you cannot have it all ways.
And the slight that I should have been there, just a polite note, trhat I have only missed one game in 13 years, apart from the Covid 2020 season when no access was allowed, and this season where 2,000 regular supporters cannot see any reason to attend and watch the rubbish that has been servered up, and under Cox, that was never going to change, are any of you guys that are saying I should have been there, 81 years of age?, I doubt it, and I did point out that I was commenting after only seeing about seven minutes of highlights, which suggested that my comments were actually no way as sound as fans that attended. I hope to attend when the weather picks up a bit, possibly end of next month time, but at this moment of time, I hope things improve a lot, and you actually see a Scunny goal scored, they will never get a better chance than Walsall tomorrow. UTI.

It’s simple guys, at least they had something to sing about, for once.
I appreciate that watching about seven minutes of the match highlights is not a very good reason for a comment, but Rory Watson has been our MOM for many games this season, but yesterday he never came off his line to cut out some of Oldhams many crosses, was that how attending supporters saw it?
So what you are saying SharpShooter is that of yesterdays starting eleven, only one of them was not good enough, because only one player received below a 3 rating, Oldham appeaered to dominate the game, and Scunny never seemed to want to get up the field, the truth is that the complete team are not good enough, and one win in 17 matches surely backs that up.
Yes Mike / Northumbiron you are both correct, I overlooked the win on boxing day pals, so sorry and please make that one win in 17, that sounds a lot better ha ha!, but it is some record isn’tit, nearly as bad as not scoring a goal in six of our last seven matches, and this is without any help from Cox !!!
1 user thanked author for this post.
Well, what a bloody day, Scunny match not on Radio Hull, watched the Jocks beat England at rugby, Scunny lost to Oldham who had their first win in 11 matches which is better than Scunthorpes who have not won in 16 games, and just watched England womens cricket team slump from 57-2 to 78-7 in Australia, I think it is time for bed!!! People are saying todays result is the final nail in the teams coffin, I do not agree because we were heading for relegation many weeks ago, but just looking at our miserable pathetic record :-
starting with todays game L0-1, L2-3, L0-1, L0-2, L0-4, L0-1, L D D D D L D L L L so no wins in our last 16 games, only managed to score in one of our last six matches, once again todays home game against another pathetic team, each had one shot on target in the entire match, and Scunny managed just two corners HOW CAN THE MANAGEMENT KEEP EXPRESSING THAT FANS MUST ATTEND IN DROVES??We need at least nine more wins, November 23rd was our last win!!!! and present form gives the following number of points scored in the last six matches:-
Scunny – zero
Oldham – 6
Carlisle – 5
Walsall – zero
Colch’er – 8
Barrow – 7I have never felt so low with the club in my 71 years following and supporting them, just to think that Mr Swann with all his plans, speaches and promisses over the past seven years have all turned into the ruination of SUFC who have no money, no players worth watching, only 2,200 remaining fans, no stadium, certain to lose their League status after 71 years, and are now presenting the most unentertaining football ever seen by our club, well done Mr Swann and your pipe dreams.
12 users thanked author for this post.
Lose on Saturday BS and win every other game we will probably just miss out on a playoff place. Get a grip man.
We will say no more regarding your posting Awaywego, I assume that BigLeftToe has given you the answer to your silly statement, but I suppose we must now live on a dream, that is about Swann and Cox have left us with.
After tonights results with Colchester taking another point, and Barrow winning away from home, it now looks as though there are just three teams fighting for the one spot of being safe (very much like last season), so Scunny are bottom with just 19 points the same as Oldham, but Oldham have two games in hand of us, and the other team being Carlisle who are 8 points above Scunny and Oldham, so it now looks like a hopeless position for us. This makes Sayurdays match, a much win situation, no other result is acceptable or we are down for sure.
So the team and management know what to do, the crowd can help a little, but it is entirely up to the management and his players, things have been left far too late, and the teams SIX defeats on the bounce have not helped in any way, so we just have to go for the win, and the only possible way of winning matches IS TO SCORE SOME BLOODY GOALS.
