I feel that on most of the occasions players just turned up at GP and claimed injury, the number of players that were on long term so called injuries is nothing that other clubs encountered, fans just accepted that certain players would be unavailable because of being injured, I wonder how many of these injuries were fake?????

For so many players to be effected this way, must point the finger at the clubs medical staff and training staff, I have stated before many times, why is so and so still injured, after reading this latest rubbish, why were these players that did not wish to play, or even train for that matter, sent home and suspended, surely they could have been binned, and off loaded from the wage bill.

The more that we hear from GP the more I feel so happy that I stopped getting my long term season ticket, but still being annoyed for all the money given to the club with iFollower payments during the past two seasons.

HOW DO THE FANS THAT CONTINUE ATTENDING MATCHES FEEL WHEN THE NEWS COMES OUT THAT SOME OF THE SQUAD DO NOT WANT TO BE SELECTED, ADDED TO THE FACT THAT THE CLUB OWNER DOES NOT WISH TO ATTEND MATCHES. SORRY FOR USE OF THE WORD (MATCHES), WHEN THE TEAM HASN’T WON A GAME FOR 17 GAMES, (MATCHES) IS OBVIOUSLY THE WRONG WORD FOR ME TO USE.

The corrupt things that have happened at our once little loved club over the past few seasons, non-league football is surely the best place for Scunthorpe United, it has been unmanaged and steered down the Swanny into probable none existance, sadly there does not appear to be a cure!

I just kept hoping for some kind of miracle, that we would string some results together and retain our league status.

I just recently fractured my elbow, but the pain is not as bad as the Iron getting relegated out of the football league made me feel…

There is one advantage you have got Lord, at least the pain you are suffering from your elbow will go away and get better in time, this situation SUFC have been guided into by Swann, has no chance what so ever of ending well, it could be heading for ampitation as the only cure (removed from existance, don’t rule out anything with this guy).

Well done the three guys placed 1st 2nd and 3rd, I am a bit worried regarding Sanfran finishing 13th out of 17, did you have a spell of being managed by Mr Cox during some part of the season??

Hope you are keeping ok pal.

What happened to the Swann statement about five or six months ago regarding giving back the ground as soon as when he leaves the club, does this now mean that SUFC are stuck with this guy?
The club has turned out to be the laughing stock of the once member of the football league, they have been drained of everything, fans do not want me to name this list once again, but the way SUFC has been missmanaged and milked of everything and nothing has ever come to light throughout this miserable period, where supporters have been drained of any entertainment, enjoyment and the clubs assets have even been signed over to the guys own company, leaving our fans with non-league football, no decent players, no assets and no money, and we have a drained club that is owned by a guy that has not enough interest or neck, to even turn up to watch the sad results of his ownership management. What’s your thoughts UpTheIron99 ?????????????????

The latest issue is now that Northampton have lodged a complaint to the football league over the selection of seven or eight youth players being turned out last Saturday, in a game that certainly cost Northampton automatic promotion, when will it ever end?? Sadly it will probably be sooner than a lot of supporters or ex supporters think.

Well guys, that has now ended the season, and it was as I have stated on here many times, Swann has driven our once loved club into the National League by his methods, for three seasons he has wanted our club to fail just like it has done, it is about the only thing he has ever got right in all his workings and pointless statements over the years. He bandished Championship League, he preached 2 new stadiums, he preached GP refurbishment,160 flats to be built on club land, but we all know what he has achieved by foolishly spending all club money and running up a debt of about 13 million pounds, he took the new stadium consultants to court, he fell out with NLCC, he incurred a football league embargo for over spending, his answer then was to sign over all the clubs land to his own company, not forgetting the move he made by keeping Cox as manager for a year too long, just to make sure that the club failed, he drove nearly 2,000 loyal supporters away from attending. All this will result in the club likely to go bust, sorry to say I predicted this for the past year, Swann has done this in order to get the money back that the club lost in persuing the Swann schedule, he will possibly as being said put a price on the club that will scare any buyer away.

I have had 72 years following SUFC, but I really feel for the club suporters like the one’s that made the long costly trip to Bristol today, and loyal fans like the couple that live in Derby that until this year and the Covid year, never missed a home or away match for 13 years, bearing that in mind, even a home match was a 170 mile trip, Christ all this has been taken away from people like those by an owner and club Chairman that cannot be bothered to attent any games, I wonder if he is too ashamed to show his face at GP, we all know that he is too brass necked to even give it a thought that he has caused our club into forced failure, but is was Covid not Swann wasn’t it !!!

Anyway, I have 70 years of memories to look back on, and my present hate of Swann, he must be hated by many, many Scunthorpe people (not including UTI99), I just hope that the club does get a new owner, just for the sake of present and lost fans, but under Swann the club will fold.

GOOD LUCK SUFC and it’s supporters, after the past four years you certainly deserve some!!

I intended going to the clubs last football league game today, but cannot drum up enough enthusiasme to bother, my memories of our once loved club will remain being the 68 years prior to the last four pathetic, unentertaining, boring and unenjoyed seasons played under Swanns Chairmanship, he has killed off our club. I an sorry to say, but I did forcast that this would happen, he kept Cox on for a year too long, in order to drive the club into what it is now, he employed his own son to take over recruitment which resulted in a load of rubbish players being brought in, he has made sure that we are no longer a football league club, and I also predicted that the club will be liquidated in order for Swamms Company to sell off all the clubs land, sadly this will shortly happen.

Todays game ended my 72 years following SUFC, well make that 70 years because I have not attended any game during the past two seasons, although paid for 46 iFollower games last season, and all games that were actually covered this season.

So good luck to all the remaining supporters, and any that were fans but have given up because of one thing or another, hope I am wrong, but the signs will not go away whilst Swann is still involved with the club, his bullshit no longer is acceptable, you can only take so much, and Christ we have had our full share of it!!

You should get a result today with Hartlepool having seven first team players out, but do not put any money on it!!!

It all sounds so good Sharp-Shooter, but we all know that it will not happen mate, what reason has any decent player got to joint our disjointed shower, we are one of the lowest wage payers, we have one point from our past nine matches, the manager has stated that some players do not want to be selected in case they get injured, and to the point “what would the reason to tell fans of future plans” when everything supporters have been told over the past seven years has all been a pack of lies!!!!!!. It is too late to have any plans, when we have operated without any for so long, there is absolutely no reason for the club to try and win back fans by the way supporters have been treated over seven years, but if you want a plan for next year, I will give you one.

Struggle to compete in games from August.

Turn out an inexperienced squad that has been thrown together on a breadline budget.

Team to contain about six youth players, giving their all, but like this season experience is required along with three youth players..

Our club will be paying Swann rental for the stadium, he will not stick to his word regarding giving back the stadium when he leaves.

The team will be in the, or not be far off the relegation four teams.

Gates will be down to 1,000 to 1,200, with UpTheIron69 sitting in the directors box singing Swanns praises, and annoying anyone around him ha ha!

SEE HOW THESE FORCAST TURN OUT GUYS, GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE STILL BOTHERING TO ATTEND.

Embargo or no embargo, the way that Swann has run our club over his time as Chairman, only possibly had one way of ending.

We now all await his shouts of “THE CLUB WILL BE IN A BETTER POSITION WHEN I LEAVE THAN IT WAS WHEN I TOOK OVER”,

A strong lower league team with a squad containing some good payers——now a non-league team without any decent players.

A team which had a small debt, but owned all it own assets, ground, land etc——now £14 million of debt ran up, and all its assets ransferred over to Swanns company, I assum he will hand over a scoreboard at the railway end.

A steady weekly fan base of about 4,600 fans—-now lucky to get 2,100 including away fans.

A directors box containing some dedicated directors and the Chairman—–now just a few family members, a Scunthorpe fan rep but no Chairman bothering his arse to turn up, but tells fans to.

A run down delapidated ground that is a disgrace the the football league, ho sorry to non-league, I was forgetting we are supposed to be in the Championship playing in a New Stadium, or at the very least in a fully refurbish GP, but the only thing that has changed is the ground name.

Players playing every week and giving their all——half a dozen youth inexperienced youth players giving their best and a few going through the motions, and now we learn that players making it known that they do not wish to be selected in case they get injured, also about six players constantly injured or not good enough to even make our pathetic team.

SO WE AWAIT FOR THE BIG FELLOWES STATEMENT TO COME TRUE, OR ANY SMALL PART OF IT, THAT IS ENOUGH FROM ME AFTER 72 YEARS, SO GOOD LUCK LADS, AND ALL THE VERY BEST!!!!!!!

Well twenty seconds gone and effectively game over we thought, after 5 mins thought and hoped we would record our record defeat, to clapping them off at the end, funny old game well done lads for a change battled really hard. Anybody else who went thought the stand was going to give way with the bouncing, well dodgy imo.

Really awaywego99, Scunny had just lost to a team that had not won since January, was it such a great performance, and our goal keeper was again MOM ???

Well, ONE POINT in our past NINE LEAGUE MATCHES, what a bloody record to leave the football league with, so this is not a good way, no skill, no idea, very little fight in some of the players, and to top things up, the Manager comes out with “Some of the players did not want to play in case they get injured”, can anyone think this is acceptable without being shown the door at once??

I am just wondering what the club actually said to these players in reply, I do not accept that this statement by the manager is true!!!, and the club actually want supporters to keep turning up to watch the one’s that do not mind playing, Scunthorpe United as a club have really turned septic.

The point being he’s selling the club so it’s after the horse has bolted.
Sorry that I had to explain that to you.

Don’t you think how stupid and why you have and still are given this guy your full suport over the past four years, and even before then Awaywego69, he has done absolutely nothing what so ever he has spouted over these long years, he does talk a good game, but his results have been really pathetic, and he has taken our once loved little club out of existance.

Mick would you have been bothered if you had got a banning order for the last 3 seasons?

I did get one for the past two seasons, I gave myself ome, just a pity a lot more didn’t do the same thing andforce a change on how the club ws and still is being run down, and possibly out of existance.

I have covered many hundreds of thousands of miles over the past 72 years, many happy times, and a few not so happy, but the past 4 seasons the way our team has been set up, and the way it has been managed, has actually ended my interest in attending any longer, but with saying this, now being 81 years of age does not help a great deal. What has really hit me most is that the Chairman bull shitted our fans for many years, then when the fruits of his ownership saw our team exit the Fotball League, he just turned his back on the club, even as the owner, he could not be arsed to attend matches, he had earlier ran up a big debt of over £13 million pounds, and had the neck to transfer ownership of the stadium, car parks and training pitch land to his own company.

If he just took a look at himself and saw what hs ownership has done to the club, it’s supporters and the town in general, I am sure that he would hate himself, but we all know this is not his way, he has fallen out with council officers, contractors, the supporters, and at the same time blames Covid and our loyal fans, it is never his fault.

So sorry to say, but I shall not be goig any more, and our last home game against Hartlepool will be my last time that I shall set foot in GP, I was at the first League match in 1950 and hope to be at our last league game. I still have my Speedway to attend, and although I have Sky Sports, the 30 match iFollower Speedway Prem League season ticket and BT Sports, I do not watch too many football matches now, the diving and rolling about and continual back passing has spoiled it for me.

I hope that SUFC do get back into the football league, but I think it will take years if it ever does happen, and they will need a different squad of players to what they presently have.

Yes Barrie, I was at that match, great win, but was you at the 0-0 game at Leeds when both keepers played blinders, Garry Sprake for Leeds and Ken Jones for Scunny, both Weles Internationals, I also remember the steep bank you went up onto the terraces, it was real muddy and I slipped and went full length and flat out into thick mud. But that fall of mind was nothing near as painful as our clubs fall during the past four years, thanks to Swann.

Although our remaining fans are saying that SUFC will struggle next year in the National League, I still have fears that the club could become another Bury!!, by that I am still thinking that this will be the only way that Swann will get his money back, although after saying that, he is 100% the one that has brought on this pathetic present status of our club.

I hope I am wrong, although I am wondering how many more faithful supporters have just admitted to themselves that enough is enough, and like myself, I have no reall interest in attending any longer, I have been served up such shite over the past 4 seasons, why bother!!!

1957, our FA Cup win at Newcastle, I was 16 years old and one of the 8,000 Scunny fans that went to St James Park on 10 special trains, Alan Busby was my MOM that day.

Our 4-0 win at Forest, and winning at Derby sat next to my son who was and still is a Derby fan (and also a Scunny fan), I think it was 4-1. Also our FA Cup win at Sheff Wed was great.

Probably my best remembered home win was our 6-1 home FA Cup win over Blackpool when Stan Mathews sat down and changed his boots on the pitch because he could not get past Jackie Brownsword, losing at half time, a joe Bonson and Barrie Thomas hatrick by each of them.

In League 2 when we beat Fulham 6-1, Jimmy Hill playing for Fulham before turning into a commentator and Southampton 5-1 the same year, Barrie Thomas was brilliant.

All of these games have been over shaddowed by Swann coming to our club with his big idea’s and lies, which have ruined our once loved little town club, we have memories, but we now no longer have anything. Peter Swann will never be forgotten by Scunthorpe fans, he ended up being a deserter, loved by one supporter (Uptheiron69).

Well, that must be one of the worst performances the club has performed for many a year, and it could have been seven or eight if they had taken a few more of their really good chances, the team effort was about on par with the Radio commentary as the three of them moaned for 90 mins, you would have thought that we were not relegated before today, christ we were doomed six months ago.

All my 72 years of following the Iron, I cannot ever remember a season when I couldn’t say, “Well we have two or three really good players”, but sadly there is not one good player in the complete squad, the squad had been built up and they are all rubbish, and sadly a lot of them do noy want to be at Scunthorpe, but it does not stop them drawing their wages.

I still say that Swann has guided the club like this on purpose, to make sure he gets the money he ran up for the club by his stupid very bad guidance, he has wrecked the sporting lives of many thousands of Scunny supporters, who no longer have any money, no ground or land, a debt owed to the Football League of £2 million, and worse of all we do not have even one player that is even league two standard, plus Swann has driven 2,500 loyal fans away from the club simply by not ofering a single reason to turn out at GP.

For Christ sake Swann get away from the club, and give it a small chance of regaining any form of being a small friendly well ran club, you have wrecked everything you have done on top of your constant lies over 8 years. GO NOW.

Not so good news, I have just seen that the Leyton game is on iFollower, thats another £10 thrown down the drain, but just hoping that Scunny have a shot on target, I suppose that will be worth the tenner ha ha!, just living in hope though.

Maybe balls Iron-awe, but 100% true, I just missed out the number of matches were Scunny did not have one shot on target!!!

Regarding the Leyton away match, I have actually really attending these games at Leyton, a drive down to Leytonstowe, a nice overnight hotel stay, a few pints and after a nice breakfast, take a short ride to the ground, which has a very nice large hotel and casino in the ground, I really looked forward to our Leyton matches, a vast difference to now a days when I wouldn’t go ten miles to sit and watch our present days team and tactics.

Due to covid and other reasons I haven’t been able to get to a match in 3 years so I have been planning the trip to Orient since the fixtures came out. It’s very apt that this will be the day we get relegated.

Bloody hell irishiron, you have not been to games for 3 years because of Covid, Christ Swann has only used Covid for Scunnies pathetic showing for 2 years, I would have thought that the best reason for not attending is:- the pathetic entertainment and enjoyment would have been a better excuse mate. I haven’t attended for any of the past two seasons because the team performances have been bloody terrible, and the one up front shite that has been operated, that is after me attending since 1951!!!!

Lets just have a look at our performances since 1st Jan 2022:-

    PLAYED 19 GAMES——–WON-1——-DRAWN-2———LOST-16.
    POINTS AVAILABLE-57——ACTUAL POINTS WON-5.
    GOALS SCORED IN THE 19 MATCHES-7——–GOALS AGAINST-39.
GAMES THAT SCUNNY FAILED TO SCORE A GOAL = 13 MATCHES (THAT IS 20 HOURS).
    GAMES SINCE LAST WIN——-11.
GAMES WON IN THE WHOLE SEASON———4.

So no real need to use Covid is there?????????

WELL DONE PETER SWANN !!!!!, ARE YOU STILL “GOING TO LEAVE THE CLUB IN A BETTER CONDITION THAN WHEN YOU TOOK OVER” ??????????????

I am having difficulty in undewrstanding what you are trying to tell us supporters to do foxstreetfiveseven.

You start off by telling us that you have fallen out with going to matches four years ago, and not attended a game since. Then it appears that you are saying to us, that if we do not go to games, the club will no longer exist.

So please tell me did you think the same way when you stopped attending????, there will always be a few fans like Uptheiron69 for example that will sit like dummies in the middle of winter watching his team get beaten week after week, but why continue when things get worse week by week, have you noticed that the team has failed to SCORE A BLOODY GOAL IN SIX OUT OF THE LAST SEVEN MATCHES, LOSING ALL SEVEN GAMES, with no enjoyment or entertainment for our once loyal supporters.

You have summed things up absolutely 100% correctly ironfromafar, I have been saying since last season that in my opinion, and the way things have ended up, the whole object of the way that the club has been run, pointed to the fact that top management have done their best to make sure that the club is relegated, and more important drive the club out of business. Why else should the club have run at a £13 million loss, and on top of that to borrow either £1 or £2 million from the FL, which also carries all its restraints, and what other reason was there to keep Cox as manager for 12 months too long, after he had already proved to be a complete clueless failure??

We have listened to eight years of bullshit, and I am sorry but to admit that I myself gave him five years of 100% backing, but nothing he has spouted has come to being, not one single thing, and this bullshit of “I will leave the club in better state than when I took over”, and that “I will return the clubs ground, land and assets back to the club” is even more rubbish. Like many other supporters, I said last season, that I would never attend GP while this guy is still the owner, why the hell should I when he doesn’t even attend himself.

Yes relegated out of the Football League is a lot bettetr than League football, and playing in front of 1,800 to 2,000 fans is better than 4,500 we used to have, the guy has taken us as complete fools for far too long, THERE MUST BE A PROTEST, OR ARE WE SAYING IT IS NO LONGER OUR ONCE LOVED CLUB, AND WE DON’T GIVE A BLOODY TOSS Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The lads put plenty of effort in, but once again our MOM was Rory Watson, and his saves obviously kept the score down, fair play to the young guys, and Hackney also had a good game, but once again there was little up front to cause Forest Green much worry, I have just checked the Scunthorpe record of the year 2022, so things really look grim for next season in the National League.

PLAYED – 17, WON – 1 DRAWN – 2 LOST – 14 So what difference has the new manager made??
    PLAYED – 17, GOALS SCORED – 7 GOALS AGAINST – 34.
PLAYED – 17, FAILED TO SCORE IN 11 GAMES SCORED 1 GOAL IN 5 GAMES SCORED 2 GOAL IN THE OTHER.
    PLAYED – 17, POINTS SCORED – 5 POSSIBLE POINTS ON OFFER – 51.
GAMES PLAYED SINCE A WIN, – 10 MATCHES AND COUNTING.

So what a bloody pathetic record, during all these years, I never thought it possible for our club to sink to these depths, I hope that you are proud of your management record Mr Peter Swann, and the old saying of yours “that I will leave the club in a better state than when I took over”.

I just hope that some younger supporter can still try and get this protest arranged.

I’ll paint any fence, just ain’t wasting 4 hours of a Saturday afternoon which most look forward to having good weekend and going to the match and all the match day experience brings including seeing friends.

That’s finished because the football has been so dire that fence painting/hobby is the best option.

By the time you paid for fuel, pint or two at the pub en route, ticket and for some the poor fayre on offer and wasting your long awaited weekend it’s not cheap.

Get a tin of creosote for that 🤔

The problem is RB, there are that many turning out to prefer fence painting in Scunthorpe, the hardware shops within 20 miles of Scunny have all run out of fence paint and brushes, in fact I bought a plastic bucket of Ron-seal on the black market yesterday, it cost me £83 instead of the usual £12, but I weighed up what was the better, either fence paint at that price or go to watch Scunny, so I think it is well worth the £83, in fact I might buy two more buckets for next year, with us being in the National League, it could rise to over £100 a pail!!!
