The old pub quiz question:
Which club have competed in every division of the Football League (PL Championship, Div 1, Div 2, Div 3, Div 3N, Div 3S & Div 4)?
Could it be Port Vale Northumbiron???
But we’ve only played one game at Daggers BS, you must be thinking of some other club, 3-0 up on 67 mins, they scored a speculative goal then the worst weather I’ve ever been in took over and they were kicking into it, got to 3-2 and ref took the teams off, we left to catch the tubes only just made it back in time for train home, probably the worst feeling I’ve ever had traveling home felt like a defeat.
Feel sure that I went to two games at Daggers, unless I am mixing some trips and overnight stays for Leyton matches, they also where a fav of mine. But feel sure it was 1-3 when the players were taken off, and almost impossible conditions when they restarted.
Was the 3-3 game at Dagenham when it was torrential rain towards the end of the match ?
Yes, that was the game Bill, thinking back mate it could have been 0-3 to Scuuny, but not sure, it really pissed down and Dagenham took over the game after that. But I found them a really friendly bunch down there.
As I gave said Gurnelisra, this government is shite, but 90% of those sitting in parliament are nothing short of being bloody clowns, have you listened to them on an afternoon on TV.
So Two Wrights, I see today that the Humber View Hotel in North Ferriby have made 40 of your Yorkie pais redundent today, because they are changing the running system to enable the Hotel to accomodate 77 of these ALBANIAN AND
IU forcast D&R 2 SCUNNY 0.
I used to enjoy the away games at Daggers, I found them to be one of the most friendly club to visit, my last trip was a nice drive there, arrive at a booked hotel, a few beers with friendly people, good sleep and then drive to the ground, with my blue badge, the stewards let me into the stadium and parked me next to the AScunny bus. I think the game ended 3-3, and Daggers getting two late goals, it must have been the old Scunny way of dropping everone back in defence, like they do today, the difference being that nowadays Scunny don’t usuall lead by two goals, and we now drop back on defence from about the tenth minute!!!!!!, anyway the supporters that go tomorrow, have a good day, and hope that you get a result.
THAT WAS BEFORE I LOST THE URGE OF BEING A TRUE SUFC FAN, LOST THAT STATUS AFTER THE FIRST 5 YEARS OF SWANNS ENTRY TO GP.

It’s so often the case that the party in power lose elections, rather than the opposition winning them.
I would fully agree with this Gurnelista, I would think that there was a 15 to 20% swing to Labour after the Truss handling of her few weeks in number 10.
But why do so many Brits have no problem with all these thousands of drop outs invading our shores, most are 20 to 25 year old MALES, many will end up peddling drugs, in fact many are already recruited in France before they arrive here. Our NHS, doctors, hospitals and jails cannot handle our own people never mind another 100,000 of these people, yes that probably includes the one’s that hide in lorries, do you think it is fine to have a fleet of lifeboats at sea that actually bring them into Dover, do you think it is fine to put them in hotels at a cost to tax payers of about £8 to £10 million A DAY?, by the way Northumbiron, your 48,000 figure does not include the 125,000 of them awaiting assylem to be granted. As I said, direct them to Scunthorpe, they appear to want them, in fact when Swann shortly liquidates SUFC, they could build sa lot of accomodation down at GP, I think planning permission has already been granted for building flats, I don’t think the build has started as yet, but they could possibly be placed in cardboard boxes like they have been living in in France. France do not put them in 5* hotels, they just help them to access UK waters, and our government give France £65 million to see that they leave France in the fleet of rubber boats that are mainly supplied by Germany, but Britain are the daft twats that are inspecting the temp receiving stations in Kent to make sure it meets first class status, they should save tax payers money and ship them straight to Scunny where they are wanted, and if any of them commit a crimb, make them attend three Scunny home games as punishment.
BS going down the ” blame the boat people route “, unbelievable. Have you ever considered writing for the Daily Mail BS
No I have not iron-awe, my spelling is terrible, but are you really that happy that our hotels are beinmg filled by Albanians, many of whom are now part of the drug pushers, they are not desperate people, they are just flocking to our country simply because others will not have the drop outs, no other country would rescue them, bring them into their country, feed them, put them up in nice hotels and probably give them a cash living allowance, but our tax payers will foot the bill of probably near on £10 million a day. The government appears to be sending them in thousands up North, so I hopew Scunthorpe get their share of them, might be good to put them in the Frod Roads area, then many of them would probably request a return to their own country. One good thing being that winter is approaching, and the seas will be rough, the government might then fly them here.
How do they work together when there are fundamental disagreements with the path forward? Labour won’t be able to criticise how the Tories have run if they have a foot in their plan? The same would be said of the reverse. Also, the Tories would say it all went wrong because of Labour sabotage. The incentives aren’t there and they never will be for something like this.
The only time it’s possible is during an external threat, like in WWII.
So what you are saying siderite is, let things just carry on like the present, and argue continually without an answer to anything, actualy that is what happens now!! This Hunt guy is going to sting the working people on Thursday and state that he is correcting previous peoples errors, who are also members of his own party, it is not possible to sort things out in one swoop, Britain has been borowing for many years, so why try and sort it out in one go.
Start by cutting foreign aid from £15 billion to £3 billion a year.
Stop these illegal drop outs and drug pushers, and send them back to their country or jail them, it is not the answer to put them into five star hotels and feed them, and fix their medican needs, when Britains cannot get to see a doctor, they are ILLEGAL invaders of our country. What kind of message is being sent to them when we have a fleet of Lifeboats at sea bringing them to Dover in the thousands, then making tax payers pay for their keep. The country in fecked up.I my opinion, it is totally wrong for each of the parties to be continually at each others throets, thats why nothing ever gets done, why the hell don’t they try and work together on one or two things, the country is a total mess, and like SUFC, will never get any better. Presently the normal working subjects are struggling just to live, gas/elect costs are out of our control, I now live alone and my gas/elect is averaging £8-50 per day, food goes up weekly (well it does at Tesc’s), not by a few pence, but 20 or 30p each time, diesel is now £80 to fill up your car, and any poor sod with a mortgage, has no idea what is going to cost when their present mixed period ends, and as for young people, how the hell can they ever get a small house?? The worst thing now is that this bloody clown Hunt is trying to balance the books in one swoop, after year after year of borowwing. Thursday is going to see Hunt take more tax from workers, and make cuts to all spending (sorry not all spending, there will be nothing taken off the £15 billion we give to other countries).
At the end of the day, the worst spending and draw on tax payers money is the 2 trillion pounds paid out in civil servants pensions, yes the retired members of parliament, the NHS, the fire service, the armed forces, the teachers, and the many others that have retired after earning good money most of their lives, the average working man and women are having to find this vast yearly burden.
If you just watch the clowns that sit in the Parliament and the House of Lords, mainly talking about the boat people in accomodation that is short of being five star, never a word that they have been living in cardboard boxes in France and that they are illegal invaders that have no right what so ever to be in Britain, that’s why more and more of the dossers are arriving (41,000 this year) at another cost ofover £6 million per day, this country has gone bloody mad. Not touched on the strikes that are coming up,which will again hit the working man by even more price increaces. And the climate changes, Britain must reach zero by 2050, whilst Russia and and China are still building new coal burning Power Stations and opening up new coal mines, so just keep paying guys, Hunt willmsort it all out on Thursday, at another big cost to the working men and women.Probably the training ground bust up was caused when one of the players had been talking to Northumbiron’s mate and also placed a bet at 6/1 fon Scunny to beat Wrexham on Wed, the fall out would be because of the way some of the Scunny players had played and lost him his money ha ha!
Firstly Maidstone was the worst side I’ve seen at scunny for over 20 years. Couldn’t string two passes. And like normal a side only need one half sniff at our goal to score…
Tom, Maidstone are not the worst team that you have seen at GP in 20 years, the present Scunthorpe United are certainly the worst team that have played there.
I gave up attending two years ago after 70 years supporting them, please answer me one question Tom, why the hell do you keep attending???????????, things will never change under Swann, you should be aware of that pal, the past six years are proof of that, sadly the club will be liquidated within three months, so I can only assume that you have bought a season ticket, but surely leaving GP each match feeling as low as fans must do, I just cannot see any point any longer, the owner, the management and players certainly do not play for either club or fans, so why should fans pay money to support them, and feel sicker as each match and each season passes, I will never attend whilst Swann is at the club, so after saying that, and Swann will not leave until the club exists, I shall never go again!!!!!
Looking at fixtures till January I can’t see a winner coming anywhere.

Our once loved little club is now surely on its last legs, it is now owned by a guy that has no interest in it, and has taken us under his sole management, from the top of League1 into non-league football, and is heading into the second level of non-league football. The club has no owner that even bothers to attend any longer, it is operated by a management team that is clueless, the players are even sub standard for non-league and are once again fighting relegation once again (fighting is not the correct word) should have been facing.
I still think that my prediction that the club will be liquidated between Nov and Feb will sadly come true, I still await the annoncement that no more money will be put into the club, which has been drained of its funds and assets through seven years of mis-management, after 65 years of operation for us fans, 2,000 of which still attend for some reason or other, it certaily is not for entertainment or enjoyment.
Happily, Vader – I was not there in person.
Still. As long as we know that the football club will be in good shape when the owner eventually steps aside – surely, all must be well.
Irony apart – the abject misery of the last five years is not too far behind bereavement in the way it leaves you feeling.Les, Swann is not going anywhere mate, he wants his companies land package, surely you are not still listening to what he tells you are you??, Cox, Hill and now Daws have done their best for the owner to drive the club into where Swann wants it, my pity is for the 6,000 fans that we had, and the town its self.

Well what a bloody pathetic shower once again, at home against another bottom four team that had just lost six away games on the bounce, and not won in twelve matches, they win 0-2 agains our pathetic cluless shower.
For Christ sake Daws just get yourself back into being in charge of the youth team, and take that so called coaching clown Mussclewhite with you, enough is enough and you are just playing into Swanns hands like Cox and Hill before you, just go and see Turnbull and admit that you haven’t got a bloody clue what you are doing. Maidstone who have conseeded more goals in the NL that any other club but can easily keep a clean sheet away at Scunthorpe. Plymiron pleasse just keep your cash in your pocket pal, fancy backing Scunny to win, but I was completely wrong myself, we should have more bloody sence.
So another enjoyable day our for the fans that turned out again, fair play to you guys, it must have been painful once again, my day was bad watching our rugby lads losing, but at least I did not listen to Cox he Humberside “EXPERT SUMMERISER” as they call him, ha ha! the place has gone bloody mad!!!!

Same as ironfromafar says, this is a very much win for Scunny, although Daws is like all other Iron managers in that their first thoughts are about setting up defensivly, no matter how poor the other team is. I am going for my second correct forcast in three days, and are going for a 2-1 win for Scunny.
Please take a chance Daws and go for the three points, we still need about eight wins in the remaining part of the season, and if you cannot manage to guide the team to a win today against another crap team it will be either Liquidation or the NLN,
JUST GIVE THE REMAINING SUPPORTERS SOMETHING TO CHEER ABOUT.
The Scunny FC players card school has taken a set back today as there is anothertwo players that could be added to the sick notes, Ntche and Lavery look as though they will be out injured for a week or two, so has any supporter got any suggestions on what card game can be played by six people????, any suggestions can be sent to the sick room at GP.
Northumbiron, the next time your Chester pal wants to place a bet, just tell him to give the OLD sCORPION a call, he would have only got 5/2 odds for my predicted 1-3, but at least it would have won him some cash, and he would not have been expecting a burning bush to appear down at GP.
The old scorpion is still number oneon score predictions, five years experience in the Prediction League with 4th place my worste finish.

Well pal, no one can ever suggest that Scunny sit back 99% of the game, we go the full hogg and its 100%
of games, even when playing against very poor teams like our own shower. As stated 1-3 if we have a bit of luck and a homer type ref. As for set pieces, Scunny do not play many games without at least one goal resulting from a set piece, so 1-3 may be a bit optamistic.Very good listening, bet it was interesting standing near the pair, they really seemed to enjoy things, as it must have been a bad night only drawing with our lot.
I just wish that Radio Humberside would recruit this young guy to be the football expert at our games instead of that bloody bore of a guy Cox, well done the pair of you, it was great listening, because as you can guess, there is very little to no enjoyment being associated to our once great little club, that has been guided from a top league one club into the depths we are now in, with possible liquidation only days or weeks away, well done guys for giving us a bit of entertainment.
You had a brush – luxury. We had to lick the yard clean!!
You didn’t need a brush Cass with a tash like you have !!!!!
Aye, can’t deny he’s no worse than Hill. Or Cox for that matter.
Really – Really, all that he kept saying on Tuesday night was for Scunny to drop back and defend, along with 32 “really’s and 6 really-really’s”, Christ where the hell does RH still keep inviting him back??, where has Tom Newey gone?????
Cox seems to have more management nous from the commentary box than he ever did from the dugout. He is still out on the sick list, but is presently in talks with the club regarding a two year extention on his present contract, he is having difficulty now that the young Swann is no longer connected with the recruitment side of things, but should be fit enough to be included on the bench as an unused sub by early May.
Well he certainly will not do much from May to August simply because there are no football games!!!!!.
What I have seen of him, he is a step above anything else that is in the team.

Scunthorpe 1 Gateshead 2
At least with this score Scunny will have had a shot on target!!!!, or maybe an OG.
Tom—–regarding your statement that we need more players, Christ the club have got nearly 30 players already pal, how many more do you think are required?? the club cannot get rid of any of them due to contracts, the truth is that a combination of not being good enough, not putting any effort into their performances, and total shortage of management knowledge. When they are playing for the likes of Daws and Mussa with their 4-5-1-1 stupid formation, the team has no idea on what it is suposed to be doing, there is no link up what so ever between defence and the none existant attack, this set of clowns cannot even manage a shot on target in 95 mins, how the hell are wins going to result, as for more players Tom, you are only allowed 11 on at any given time, so why the hell do we need more than a squad of 30 ????.
It is presently going to Swanns plan, he is probably waiting for fans support to drop below 2,000 before he announces that he is not going to put any more money into the club because supporters are not turning out and he is not going to keep this going, just wait a see!!!!, as long as the team keep losing, the time is getting closer to his owning the whole land and stadium package, why do you think Cox was kept on for a year too long????.
1 user thanked author for this post.
Also great to listen to Lee Hodges during todays game, he told it as it is, he had great difficulty in explaining how clueless and inapt this team really is, he actually fell short of stating that the players did not put any effort into it, and actually said that at the very least they should be playing for the shirt they were waring, good to listen, although sad how our team has actually fallen to the depths that they have, and just accept that they are playing like they are. Daws in his interview after the game seemed happy enough with the teams first 35 mins, even though they had been completely outplayed and should have been at least 2-0 down, Scunny ended the match after playing 95 mins without making the Southend keeper into making even one save, in fact the one shot that they had was stopped when it hit one of the Scunny players. The team were once again pathetic, the management are just as bad if not worse, please tell me what the hell does Mussa do for his wage??, and does Dewhurst ever make an effort to stop goals????????????, the bloody lot want peddling.
Only peple putting in the effort are the supporters, but how the hell this will continue is questionalable!!! Swann, for Christ sake GTFOOH.

I think Boris was more of a Neil Cox than a Nigel Adkins!
They were both “really – really rubbish as Cox would say!!
But things are really – really at a very low point in both cases SUFC and the so called Government, maybe Cox would make a good PM, he could be really – really good speaking in the Commons.
What a great night when we won 4-0 ay Elland Road, I think that one comes second to the 3-1 win in the FA Cup at Newcastle in 1957, it’s great that we have these memories, I feel really sorry for recent fans that can only quote the Swann years, there only memory to pass on will be sorting in order the biggest lies!!!
