    Fair assessment to be honest.

If you look at the recent games on Cafescore, the pattern’s pretty clear — we’re competitive for spells, but the drop-off when injuries hit is obvious. York just have that extra gear and depth that we don’t right now.

Roberts is carrying us, no doubt. You can see it in the goal contributions week after week. Westbrooke’s probably been the most consistent in midfield too. But beyond that, once form dips, the level falls off quickly.

I agree about getting a centre-half in on loan. We need someone who can organise and calm things down. Too often it just feels chaotic at the back, and that shows up in the chances we’re conceding.

The effort was better though — build on that, add a bit more structure, and we might steady things.

Chaotic just about sums up our recent defending certainly. But our defenders are all experienced, not kids and the manager was a defender himself. If they can’t organise an effective defence between them I doubt that bringing in a loan CB will solve the problem. A fit JB might but we don’t know how soon that’s likely.

Did you notice that alcazar gave a thank, first time on Blast furnace since Oct 22, I thought he’d gone on to the old show ground in the sky.
Nice to see he’s still here.
