According the Cox in last night’s post match interview he’s possibly on his way to a non league club for what sounded like a transfer fee.
Cox said his contract runs out end of this season and he hasn’t been featuring so is more than likely going.
If Cox doesn’t really rate him then it’s up to him but isn’t Jarvis injured….also what Happens if Van Veen breaks down again before January ?.
There’s a lot of games coming up.
We’ll probably be ok but from this weekend you’re allowed to use 5 subs instead of the 3 so you would have thought he’d have come in handy just for that purpose to freshen games up “if needed”
November 18, 2020 at 12:03 pm #197684Definitely sounded like a transfer rather than a loan. I would like to see him given a chance, especially ahead of the likes of Jarvis and Turan. But if Cox doesn’t rate him and he isn’t going to play it’s probably better to get whatever we can for him now rather than him leave for free at the end of the season.
November 18, 2020 at 12:26 pm #197688Financially it makes sense but he would have been handy to have with the use of 5 subs coming in to play. Jarvis is injured so we’re left with Turan as the only viable striker left.
I suppose we would stick Green up there but it’s hardly ideal.
November 18, 2020 at 12:35 pm #197693I suspect it will have to be a loan, made permanent in January.
November 18, 2020 at 12:43 pm #197695As you say wondergoals, we are a bit short not only of front men, but front men that are good enough, I do not know if Cox was involved in the signing of Turan and Hippolyte, but God help us if either of them get back into the first team, so that leaves Kevin, McAnee and Loft, and as you say Kevins fitness is a worry right now.
November 18, 2020 at 1:10 pm #197697The writing was on the wall in a recent Cox interview where he said that he and Olomola had different views on where he played. Not absolutely word for word what Cox said but something like “play where I tell you or don’t play at all.”
November 18, 2020 at 1:21 pm #197700It would be a shame for him never to get a proper chance but maybe he just needs a fresh start. The chance to recoup some money on wages & the odd transfer fee cannot be ignored. It’s not like we’re short of strikers anyway.
FWIW, I think Dunnwald-Turan is probably better suited to being the second striker than being Loft-lite.
November 18, 2020 at 1:26 pm #197703So that’ll be another to add to the Vose, Margetts, Lewis, El Mhanni etc list.
What’s the betting Dales is next.
A deeply flawed recruitment strategy that goes back long before Cox or even Hurst were appointed.
November 18, 2020 at 3:31 pm #197710I’ve seem a few times and he is certainly not up to league standard. Why we signed him on a 3 year contract god knows
November 18, 2020 at 9:49 pm #197724It’s not like we’re short of strikers anyway.
Jarvis Injured. We have Turan as our primary back up, who so far has looked dreadful. Not so sure about this one. I hope this doesn’t bite us on the backside.
I’d have no qualms about the club getting rid in January but leaves us a bit short up top right now.
November 19, 2020 at 8:35 am #197730“three year contract?”
Correction: “very expensive three year contract.”
Doubt if we’d ask a fee – saving the wages would perhaps be sufficient.November 20, 2020 at 6:41 pm #197826Cox the other day said he trained really well…showing hunger and is fighting for a 1st team spot here so it looks like he’s staying for the time being.
Ideal to bring on now the use of 5 subs is coming into play.
