The same paper group though, and isn’t Charlie working for Yorkshire Live at the moment.
August 14, 2020 at 12:46 pm #193337Not sure. It was him that quite clearly jumped the gun…you can understand now why Swann got so annoyed with them.
This is what you get when you get somebody announcing something when it’s some distance from being finalised.
August 14, 2020 at 4:21 pm #193338It’s the SET trying to get a scoop to justify their existence, if it doesn’t happen they and Wilson will look right chumps, again.
Agree with WG it’s not difficult to see why Ernie gets annoyed with them.August 15, 2020 at 3:21 pm #193375I think Lillis has done a “lord lucan” on us. Seriously, isn’t this signing taking a bit too long now ?
August 17, 2020 at 6:21 pm #193452Confirmed.
August 17, 2020 at 6:41 pm #193453Welcome back Mark
August 17, 2020 at 6:51 pm #193454It was first broke by an employee of SET. Charlie somebody, forgot his surname !
Charlie Wilson, he means well. Just being in the right place at the right time was all Charlie needed to fly the Lillis kite. Can’t argue with the accuracy though and like Cox, Lillis was keen to come back as recorded on a Bru podcast.
Patience now for the dream duo to work their magic and lets jump aboard this band wagon for one hell of a ride.August 17, 2020 at 7:25 pm #193455Fantastic news
August 17, 2020 at 7:55 pm #193456I’m now looking forwards to things starting for real, just need a couple more signings and we should be well set up.
I’m sure it will make a big difference having some passion in the dugout.I think Ernie is starting to listen to what the punters want?
August 17, 2020 at 8:02 pm #193457Have to agree with vader (partly)
A couple more signings – yes please.
Passion in the dugout – long overdue.
Listening to what the punters want – mmmmmm.August 17, 2020 at 9:14 pm #193461It was first broke by an employee of SET. Charlie somebody, forgot his surname !

Patience now for the dream duo to work their magic and lets jump aboard this band wagon for one hell of a ride.Very pleased with this signing. We do need to patient because this is a bigger task due to the age of the squad and the salary cap.
Certainly passion will be evident and I know that all the players will get the opportunity and the ‘bottom lip’ attitude will not be acceptable.
August 17, 2020 at 10:28 pm #193467Excellent news.We now have a management duo who are intent on entertaining the fans.We now need Ernie to stop thinking that he`s a cross between Roy Of The Rovers and Joe 90,keep his nose out and let them do their jobs on the field and rebuild bridges off it.

August 18, 2020 at 12:12 am #193474An experienced Gk and a dominating CM player would do nicely. Matt did say on twitter a few days back that we were/are in for another CB so like all you lot, not really sure what’s going on.

Things a bit quiet on Wearside?

Just hoping the destructive comments are put on the back burner so that the club can get some stability.

August 18, 2020 at 9:55 am #193478Do we need a CM? – How can we know?
Too many players we know so very little about and that also includes Hallam, to a degree.
Spence? Vincent?

August 18, 2020 at 12:18 pm #193492Don’t get me wrong I am chuffed to see Mark back in the Iron fold and I think his experience will be invaluable to Coxy but I’ve just seen his interview on the website and boy the years haven’t been kind. I’m surprised they didn’t keep him in the care home 😂😂😂. Welcome back Mark, just joshing.
August 18, 2020 at 12:39 pm #193496I was shocked when it said he was 60 and he’d been gone 21 years meaning when he left he was only 39!
He’s never been a young looking man.August 18, 2020 at 12:45 pm #193497I wouldn’t care if he looked like a modern day interpretation of the elephant man, as long as he brings the squad and club together.
Come on Lillis you beast !
August 18, 2020 at 2:27 pm #193513Gilliead has so many skills – no reason why he may not become the pivot of this team.
August 18, 2020 at 3:28 pm #193521Just need him to get his son to return now!
August 18, 2020 at 11:22 pm #193545Good to see Mark back with us, Neil and Mark could easily make a good management team, I hope that they are given enough time in the job to blend the squad.
August 19, 2020 at 9:51 am #193563Lillis has been come out of the game for a while now and whilst his motivational skills are undisputed, is he yesterday’s man when it comes to tactics?
August 19, 2020 at 10:34 am #193570Some ‘modern thinkers’ may regard 4-4-2 as ‘yesterday’s tactics’
August 19, 2020 at 11:20 am #193571With one fit centre back it may not be a viable option.
August 19, 2020 at 11:22 am #193572Some ‘modern thinkers’ may regard 4-4-2 as ‘yesterday’s tactics’
Little more to it than that though. It’s not just formations, it’s about players’ roles, exploiting opposition weaknesses, getting the best out of your own team.
August 19, 2020 at 11:30 am #193574Managers trying to play modern Premier League tactics has not done us a great deal of good and is one of the main reasons we’re back in the 4th Division.
August 19, 2020 at 11:59 am #193577I think a back to basics approach and stopping arsing about with tactics and formatikns that the players aren’t up to makes perfect sense.
