Another great away win for the Iron, chuffed for Dec and well done AB for changing the shape of the team second half and trying to win the game instead of settling for a point. We did not need to win today just not lose but the win is excellent and the Iron faithful will journey back happy tonight 👏👏👏

March 28, 2026 at 5:02 pm #318463Chuffed for Dec Howe now can we see the game through for the three points
17 minutes on the pitch and he grabs us the win!
March 28, 2026 at 5:04 pm #318464Hope so IFA taking 4 grandsons today 2 for their first ever away game always like to start them with a big one.
Should certainly open their eyes to what it’s all about, does seem like the 9.08 is going to be rammed to the rafters.
Son and mates on the 8.08 about 30 of us in total tis One of the lads remembrance day they take him to.
Expecting at least 2000 of us though the true number might not be known with pay on the gate, chance for Halifax to be on the rob.A great day out for your young uns!
March 28, 2026 at 5:08 pm #318465Great win …….. BUT …. why oh why does AB suddenly think that Boyce is Beckenbauer ? First half tactically was awful and the sooner we realise that playing to strengths with some ambition, creativity, movement, and playing to feet beats side to side followed by a hopeful sand wedge forward every time!!!
It’s really painful to watch the team give so much ball to the least creative plater on the pitch. If I can see then why can’t the manager?

March 28, 2026 at 5:20 pm #3184661.What happened to Pat Jones at HT. Causing problems attacking down the left but spent the second half as a second RB.
2.Pleased for Dec (Should have had a hat trick)
3.Why do so many of our free kicks and throws in the attacking third result in 3 or 4 passes then back to the keeper. GET IT IN THE BOX!!!!!2 users thanked author for this post.

Did the same last season, sometimes the supporters are right.

March 28, 2026 at 7:59 pm #318470We had nearly half the gate 1414 out of 2910 which is fantastic

March 28, 2026 at 8:10 pm #318471Dec so nearly scored with is first touch, he was loving it and milking the crowd at the end with big dick belehouan absolutely loved his song.
Bossed the game up to the equaliser then we seemed to go into our shell, come out second half and improved as they went along, without having much of a chance Whitehall played people in often enough there just couldn’t finish it off.
Should have had that penalty luckily it didn’t matter.
Best police and stewards in along time not overbearing and we’re very tolerant, Scunny fans had the run of the town, non of the pubs were off limits just policed well.
Turned out the 2 grandsons new to it aren’t really footy fans at the moment hey ho.
On the plus side I’ve taken 8 grandsons to their first Scunny away games and not one of them come away with a defeat. Mind 2 of them are donny and one’s a imp fan.
Very disappointing if there was only 1400 of us there, like i said though Halifax were probably on the make.2 users thanked author for this post.
March 29, 2026 at 7:39 am #318478How great to see hoof-it-long disappearing from our game.

March 29, 2026 at 11:00 am #318486I still saw plenty of it Les. Less but still too evident. Some woeful passing still abundant too. I can see what they’re trying to do with some of the more exciting moves and if they come off, great. 7 times out 10 they don’t and it’s frustrating to watch. Just work on passing please. Could have easily been a draw and would have been annoying as Halifax created barely anything. Ref wants sacking for not giving a penalty. Not denying another good performance and result overall though. 4 weeks can make such a difference. Credit to Butler and the boys.

March 29, 2026 at 12:38 pm #318497Credit to Butler! he doesn’t even know how the playoffs work.
March 29, 2026 at 3:21 pm #318511Credit to Butler full stop. He has just about delivered the playoffs.
Last season the playoffs was a bit disappointing given our budget relative to the rest of NLN. He and his team rescued that situation by winning the playoffs of course.
Different gravy this season if we are to believe we only have a middling NL budget.
Of course we all have had a moan and groan when we have had a couple of dips in form and when we resort to hoofball but if we step back for a minute the team have massively overeachievd on any realistic expectations for this season.
We might feck up the playoffs of course because it is always a bit of a lottery but we are finishing the season with 14 or 15 players that are competitive at the top end of this league having started the season with barely 11.
So well done to Butler and his gang and of course the players themselves. Not forgetting Michelle and the board. They have done a couple of daft things (the pitch and the love affair with the Internet scammers) but they have driven the club from almost extinction to the doorstep of the EFL.
For me this is the best time to be an Iron fan since Swann first darkened or door.4 users thanked author for this post.

March 29, 2026 at 5:40 pm #318521No doubt about that!
March 29, 2026 at 7:24 pm #318532Think the ref missed a foul on the Halifax midfielder before Roberts was denied his penalty, which was the free kick that Dec got us the winner.
Hence why the ref ran across to give the Halifax manager Lakeland a yellow card for his complaints.
But who cares, we created more chances than Halifax so were deserved winners.
And great that we could sit in any seat in the first 2 blocks of the stand, and far away from Mr. Butler so he could not hear our complaints, not that there were any..
My only problem is Halifax do not have a scoreboard, had to go oldschool and use a stop watch..
Plus a shame Halifax may not make the play offs as we can beat them at Glanford Park if a QF of 4th v 7th..March 29, 2026 at 9:19 pm #318537Think finishing 4th is vital in our play- off chances.

March 29, 2026 at 9:45 pm #318538I agree billpuntonsgho, finishing 4th is vital.
We then have a home QF against the team finishing 7th.
That could be Southend or Halifax or Forest Green or Hartleppol !
Then a semi final away to the team finishing 3rd, Carlisle most likely..1 user thanked author for this post.
March 29, 2026 at 10:35 pm #318539Not quite the result given in episode 4 of Riot Women (5 nowt to Scunny) but a great result anyway.

March 30, 2026 at 9:45 pm #318651T’was a song being sung at the end of the game which the club posted a video of. “He’s f*cking quick, got a massive d*ck, Jean Belahouan.”
