We were defending like the Alamo before 72 minutes. None of what I am saying is to excuse Tuchel. He shouldn’t be making these comments publicly, nor should he have leaned into negative tactics by bringing more defenders on. He shoulders a large portion of responsibility. However, this kind of mentality has shown its head time and time again under different managers, so I don’t think it’s all down to that. It is Tuchel’s job to coach that out of them, however.
