Have agreed, the full on Verruca Salt mentality has led to consumer madness.
In my younger days I ordered by post or telephone, for things I couldn’t get in Scunthorpe.
I expected to wait 7-10 days, and was happy with that. Now, if it doesn’t offer at least 48 hour delivery, many people won’t order.
But do we NEED all those out-of- season fruits?
We never used to.
And the rest of Europe seemingly doesn’t.
So how has someone created the need to eat strawberries, peaches, melons etc in the depths of winter???
