My late father told me as a nipper that the Lobby Lud competition was run by the now defunct News Chronicle and when you spotted Lobby at a popular seaside resort which had been mentioned in that morning’s edition ( apparently Lobby would have a rolled up copy under his arm) you had to approach him and say “ you are Mr Lobby Lud and I claim the News Chronicle prize “ which as correctly stated was a fiver. Anyway moving on 😂
