Cheltenham festival is almost here. Running from Tue, Mar 12, 2024, 2:30 PM – Fri, Mar 15, 2024 – it’s time to think about the high-profile horses to look out for. And trust us, some incredible names are returning to the iconic Cheltenham Racecourse in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

State Man
State Man is seven years old and has the champion trainer Willie Mullins – of course, he had to be on our list of high-profile horses to look out for. His lifetime record is 10 out of 13 wins, with current odds of 2/5 to win. You probably get good Cheltenham free bets on State Man. We wouldn’t guarantee he’ll win, but it’s almost obvious that he will.
He’s one of the strongest horses you’ll see at Cheltenham 2024. And now that Constitution Hill is out of the picture, the spotlight turns to him.
Last year’s performance was just a teaser of what State Man could unleash, and with Paul Townend as his Jockey, he’s a decent bet.
Sure, he didn’t win in 2023, but he has an incredible history of wins.
Lossiemouth
Now we have to talk about Lossiemouth, competing in the Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle with State Man. Why are we talking about the two? Because they’re the two favourites. And, you guessed it, Lossiemouth’s trainer is also Willie Mullins. Surely, one of them has to win. The odds put Lossiemouth behind State Man with a 7/2 prediction.
Why do we like her? She’s younger than State Man at only 5 years old, she’s strong, and she looked really good on the International Hurdles on trial days. And she has a good trainer – Danny Mullins. He might not be as good as Paul Towned, but he is good.
She’s at the prime age to win.
Galopin Des Champs
Galopin Des Champs is incredible. He’s an 8-year-old beast with the potential to win. And perhaps we’re following a theme here, but his trainer is Willie Mullins, and his jockey is Paul Townend.
Des Champs is one of the favourites to win the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup. Some bookies think he has a 48% chance of winning, and the odds are 11/8. He’s had a total of 11 wins in 17 races. And if you consider the trainer and the jockey, you can see why the odds are in his favour to win.
Galopin Des Champs also won the Gold Cup in 2023, beating Bravemansgame by seven lengths.

Gentlemansgame
Gentlemansgame is a strong horse – he almost won the Gold Cup in 2023 and has a great history of performances. He’s definitely one of the high-profile horses to talk about. And at 7 years old, he’s in his prime.
Finally, we’re talking about a horse with a different trainer and jockey. Gentlemansgames trainer is Mouse Morris – one of the best. His jockey is Darragh O’Keeffe, also one of the best.
Gentlemansgame brings a unique blend of agility, endurance, and raw talent to the racecourse, poised to disrupt the predictions and perhaps spring a surprise.
He might not be the bookmakers favourite – the odds are 25/1. But when you look at his almost win in 2023 and the fact he’s had a total of 9 wins in his time, he’s definitely one to watch.
