Young players often lose their way if they don’t have a great mentor.

I was pleased to see Colclough get back on track, enjoyed watching him away at Wimbledon a few years ago.

Hope Callum has put the past behind him, has some hunger to match his talent and has a great season to kick us on.

The fact that they are both pictured inside Glanford Park and signing early well before end of contract in June surely bodes well? It’s always been a mess the last few years making signings just as the season is starting and those who are struggling for fitness, consistency or both.

Surprised as I thought he was settled in Hampshire but a good appointment and it will be nice to be near his family no doubt.

I haven’t really heard much of the Iron Hour. I gave the one with Hilton a spin and have since skipped through a couple of the others, but wouldn’t class myself as a regular listener. Whilst they are definitely approaching it differently, they are giving it a good go and the production value has increased massively since the first episode. We too had teething issues when we started out, so it was good to see they managed to overcome those pretty quickly.

It seems to have been fairly well received and they deserve a lot of credit for sticking their heads above the parapet. You are certainly there to be shot at, as I well know. We tried our best with Swann, but ultimately that was never enough for many which is why we decided not to approach DH for an interview. I am sure, having seen some of the questions that were sent in for their interview with DH, that they may now appreciate how difficult a job we had.

It has been a real struggle to find the motivation to record a weekly IB podcast with the club in such turmoil. That said, listener numbers are still very good and have not been affected by the Iron Hour, so we are definitely going to continue until the day that changes.

We are recording a new episode this week and will then do a number of summer specials including the KVV episode which is on the way.

I’ve also been in touch with somebody else today to confirm another episode that we are doing next week. We will probably keep that one under wraps until we have recorded it and it will be shorter than usual, but the guest should prove excellent value!

Good to hear! Hope it’s Beags or Torps

To those who have travelled today, enjoy yourselves…. I’m watching on TV and I’m listening to the worst cockney commentator I’ve ever heard… Simply dreadful.

It’s not over yet…. Other results all favourable and it still kind of in our hands, bar Notts County which is naturally a big ask against a goalscorer on fire. You just never know

I like the look of Elliott…. And agree when he gets his first more will follow, I’d like to see the big man / little man front 2 but don’t think today’s game likes 442 or similar

Funny about differing opinions…. I thought Leake at LB looked a very good player, his long throw is better than Ogle’s, he was clearly nervous after his yellow card. I thought big Gerry up top started well but then let himself get bullied by their centre backs who were shorter and lighter than him… We’ve already got too many coaches but Torps could work wonders with him. I thought Barnet were generally mediocre and with some good training time we’ll be a lot better. Generally disjointed last night which should have been expected with all the changes… People’s expectations are way too high.

Someone who never made a mistake never made anything…. Albeit after making a mistake you should accept the error by taking accountability before moving ahead and making progress. He doesn’t sound like a good bet… Ahem a good choice. But there is no choice

Good post SanFran but he really doesn’t care. Only really cared when the written word contained libel which bore an opportunity. Look at the transfer policy, lots of has beens on big money for one final pay day… Only rarely happened in the past with a handful of poor signings but compensated by some of the fantastic signings like Beags.. Those days went and we were left with dross. Maybe we will never see such entertainment again, maybe we will. Don’t think it will happen in my lifetime but I witnessed some of the amazing moments and I’m grateful for that on my doorstep. Absolute tragedy what has been allowed to happen and looking back the signs were always there.

I’d take any of the above names, fictitious or otherwise than the name I’ve been given today.
Please go for a safe pair of hands who can intelligently motivate a squad, has some tactical nous and can recruit the right personalities who will graft and want to improve like the club of old.
No has beens or those who think they are great coming here for a final big pay deal.

I thought all such transactions (player sales or acquisitions) were frozen whilst any takeover is going through?
I agree with the OP, smell a rat here if it’s true.
