And also Darryn he was beaten by a cross shot for the second goal, his weaknesses.
So the keeper standings are Billson 0 from 0.5 games, Watson 3 from 0.5 games.

Alcy, Swindon have some quality players and I expect they will be challenging near the top at the end of the season.

Very disappointing performance especially second half, ref gave us very little apart from the penalty, Rory whether his fault or not concedes 3 more and 1 a cross shot which is his weak link though obviously the penalty wasn’t his fault, very disappointed with the response after they equalised and we only had one decent effort, the thing that continued from last season was low possession and spending a lot of time in our area second half, it was a awful performance and needs these 4 extra players pronto

I used to go to watch the Gingerbreads when I broke my arm in the late 60s with Tony Farmer their centre half and they played a number of midweek games, I liked to go to their old London Road ground.

I remember waiting near the gate at Millwall after Gary Hooper gave us a 2-1 win and a young fellow giving the Millwall fans grief as they walked past and thought I hope for god’s sake I hope them lot aren’t waiting at the station for a punch up, but luckily they didn’t.

The one I was thinking about was a stocky lad with a striped shirt on and was straight behind the goal, also didn’t one of our players pre game hit one in the stand behind the goal and it rebounded and hit Wack on the bonce.

funniest thing I saw was at Winterton in a pre season friendly, I think it was Ben May but maybe someone will correct me, hit a shot at goal in the warm up and it flew over the bar and hit the clubhouse wall and rebounded on a Scunny fans hand coming outside with a pint of beer and knocking the beer straight out of his hand.

It is up to the manager to turn them into a winning team, no messing about with negative systems and let’s try to win all games not target games, we won’t win them all but let’s try to be difficult to beat and let teams worry about us not bow to the opposing teams style of play, especially at home, we’ve seen enough negative crap over the last three seasons.

They must have a shocking defence then, the same article says they’ve lost their 3 pre-season games to non-league teams.

they won that one 10-1 I think.

I don’t agree, give them a chance, I went on Saturday and we looked pretty good, at least they looked interested and nobody was sulking, and Davis looked good and certainly not past it.

I have asked Coventry fans who follow me on Twitter and they say he is a future number 1 there, and out of a dozen fans nobody slagged him off, he has played one Cup game v Gillingham but highly rated by Mark Robins and he has just been to Spain with the first team, and they say he is their tallest keeper.

Staffy gave me a leaflet yesterday, has he been let go, the only thing I heard was they weren’t doing Draw tickets in the friendlies and nothing had been decided for league games, so you must have heard more, I know it would be difficult doing it cash free, the item I will miss is the programme, even doing a basic one would have been OK.

Matt Dean has just tweeted me and said before the interview started he asked him who trialist B was, and Neil said “ Alex Perry has come into the building….” which everyone knows, so he presumed he was B, but Matt said he never mentioned which was A, B or C, but I have seen pictures and a YouTube interview with Perry and unless it is a complete fluke that lad looked like number 4, number 8 looked like a teenager but I would be happy signing all 3 trialists because there is some talent there, also was really impressed with Callum Wilson on the wing, this lad is little but he ran rings round there defence and he is ours.

Most optimistic thread I’ve read in 3 years on here.

Good to hear the positive reports though and fills me with some confidence going into the Swindon game.

it hasn’t been hijacked with Covid yet.

I read the other day we had a lad from WBA on trial with a double barrel name but couldn’t remember it.

I think number 4 looked more like Perry looking at a picture of him in his Wigan strip, I know Cox likes him and said today he isn’t fully fit yet.

Trialist A must be signed – preferably today!
Classy; vision; leadership qualities; great passer and reader of the game.

Didn’t see enough of trialist C to judge but there were certainly positives.

Everything Trialist B did well – Trialist A did better. Too many errors in B’s game but there were positives too.

Kenyon slower than expected but did the simple things well.

Davis looks our best CB – ahead of Taft based on not a lot of minutes watching.

    Liked Thompson and O’ Neill.

Now firmly believe we can aim for lower mid-table.

Best of all – in a hard game by ‘friendly’ standards we rarely gifted possession – a critical thing to be remedied after last season.
Players worked for each other. Smile.

disagree there Les, and quite a few others agree that trialist B (number 8) up to the substitutions was probably the best player on the pitch on our side, I was impressed with all three trialists and the young winger ran them ragged at times, our football was more pleasant on the eye to watch and I have no complaints with any performances and we certainly didn’t deserve to lose though it was a cracking strike, I am more optimistic than a fortnight ago that we can’t hold our own in this division.

I’ve just asked Matt Dean and he said he will ask Neal after the game, and he has written it down, even if they don’t want to name the two who had it they could name those in isolation

I don’t know why but something inside is screaming George Miller…..

    Bunn looks a good acquisition

funny thing I thought he looks like George Miller, but he’s 6’1″ so apart from Bunn all our signings are over 6 feet, so no excuse for us being bullied very often, let’s give the lad a fair crack of the whip and playing 2 up top is a must.

The difference is Perry played 17 games in League 1 last season when some of our signings last season were from tier 8 or 9
