I’m so disappointed to say, that we will almost certainly be playing National League North next season. Swann has destroyed this club, and has done so deliberately. He will be alright though, his horse racing business still owns OUR GROUND. 🤬

We are 11/2 for the home win with Bet365. Stranger things have happened. A few quid going on.

FFS! 👎
Not too far from me but I’m working. We have got to win, I’ll never hear the last of it from the bloody Seaweeds otherwise.
COME ON – UTBI!!
Well unfortunately I can’t find anything online. :(
In the top five national league goal scorers with nine goals. The numbers tell no lies.
https://www.soccerstats.com/scorers.asp?league=england5The Leeds match (Second replay) That was of my favourites too.
Did you go to the next round against WBA? We was bloody robbed!!

So here we are ‘playing’ non league football, and hanging on by the skin of our teeth. I don’t blame our caretaker boss, or even our players. They are piss poor, but they didn’t hire themselves.
Word is that a new manager will not be appointed until the club is sold, and that the current club owner will not make any money available for new players.
If the only way to raise money to buy new players is to sell the ones we have is a recipe for disaster. We don’t have any future stars that will fetch us a couple of million, and we don’t have any assets that we can use to guarantee payment of any kind of loan.
In short, this is all down to an incompetent hobbyist chairman, who wasted millions in an attempt to get us promoted from L1. When we didn’t succeed, and even though we came pretty close, he got bored and pulled the plug. Now all he wants is to get his money back, which he won’t get, we have gone from decent L1 to crap NL. The club has been massively devalued. It’s all about the land which belongs to Swann’s own company (Coolsilk). The Iron are in his way now. He will need the club to go bust so that he can sell the land.
I did defend him at first, but his threats to sue a supporter for criticising him was a red flag for me. He was only ever in it for himself.
So do us all a favour Swann, kindly and in the nicest of ways. Give us back our land then please do F off.

13 years ago, but how many managers between then and now? Including caretaker bosses.
We are Scunthorpe United not Man City. We need to give someone a proper bloody chance. We have sacked managers who are doing a lot better afterwards.
Get a professional manger in and promise some stability please.

Come on Penny! x

RIP John Duncan – A brilliant light in the dark days of the 80’s Iron.
I like Nuttall, given more service and not having to come deep so often, and he would, I’m sure, be a right handful up top.
We need a proper DMC and another CB, so that our more creative players can spend more time in our opponents half. Then we would see Nuttall and Lavery turn into a formidable pair up top..
The left love to accuse the right of being a bunch of evil fascists, the right love to accuse the left of being a bunch of evil communists.
I have just been listening to a documentary about the affect space can have on humans. So I came up with a question.
A conspiracy theorist approached Buzz Aldrin and asked him to swear on the holy bible that he had been to the moon. Buzz twatted him right on the jaw.
So who was in the wrong? The conspiracy theorist, who literally didn’t know better. Or Buzz who literally did?
It’s just the same old people coming out with the same old stuff, LK. Delighted to see that Gurny’s joined the conversation. Always much more fun when he’s involved. He’s even come out with the ‘Hitler’ comparisons in the past, which is a sure-fire way of knowing he’s lost the argument. Of course, he’ll never admit it. You’d think the guy might try a different approach but he doesn’t appear to have one. Just attack the individual and hope something sticks, which is rather pathetic.
Also, LK, remember that it’s only the left whose opinions matter. Anyone else isn’t entitled to them. Just look at how the likes of Jacinda Ardern claim that comments doubting the voracity of climate change are ‘dangerous rhetoric’.
Then you get comments such as “trashed the economy”, which is just not true. But, then again, truth doesn’t appear to be in these people’s vocabulary. They’re not interested in reality but will try every trick in the book to try to make it look as though you’re the one not being realistic. It always makes me smile.
It would appear that because I encouraged someone to stay and fight his corner, without knowing very much about him except a few mad posts. Oh and because I mentioned fourteen words, I must be a supporter or member of the ‘far right.’
Well I remember a time when many left of centre types would refer to Maggie Thatcher as a fascist. Under those auspices then whatever. As for those fourteen words, I happened upon them many years ago when I joined a Yahoo Club I had found on the internet. I asked the moddie what it meant and he was happy to tell me. The club didn’t last long as Yahoo banned it. But it was a couple of years before I mentioned those words again and was told about David Lane. A white nationalist (neo Nazi) bank robber who died in prison. I decided that I didn’t like him, or anything he wrote other than those fourteen words, (We Must Secure The Existence Of Our People And A Future For White Children). I know that this is like a red flag to all leftists, which is why I like to wave it at them on the very odd occasion. But that does not mean I support the NF or the BNP. I most certainly do not, and I had forgotten all about BJ, who I was told at the time was the parody account of, I think someone said Sad Apple?
Anyway I refuse to allow leftist PC drones to occupy rent free space in my head, which is why I’m answering your message directly.
Cheers dude, Up The Iron.
What a lame excuse for a post Lord Kitchener. Who gives a toss what you think of past and present Labour Party leaders? This in particular:
‘Now we are blessed with the presence of another leader of the opposition, one Keir Starmer. I haven’t had the chance to analyse this one. A career politician, but almost anonymous, insomuch as nobody had ever heard of him. Judging by what I have seen of him so far, I think he is labour’s version of Theresa May, only more of an old woman.’
What you mean is, you’d never heard of him. I’m sure the earth will move when you provide your expert analysis of his credentials but no doubt it would be just be an opportunity to find faults with him like you have with the previous. You admit to knowing nothing about him but claim he’s a ‘career politician’? Yes, clearly you know nothing about him.
I know you’d prefer a Party in power that was more akin to the BNP or the NF based on your previous racist views on here and gushing praise of Big Job, Boris, Trump and Farage, so your criticism of Labour Party leaders seems hollow. What do you want from a Pary leader? Bit more Trump, Farage, Moseley, Griffin?
I’m just as entitled to post my opinion than anyone else on here, the fact that you don’t like it is not a good enough excuse to make a bunch of ridiculous accusations.
But let me make myself clear…
In my post I indicated that I don’t trust politicians. I gave reasons why I distrust both Conservative and Labour leaders past and present. As for the ‘National Front, the BNP, Mosely and Griffin. I wouldn’t piss on any of them if they were on fire. Yes I’m right of centre, and yes I admire Nigel Farage, but that doesn’t make me a Nazi.
That is all you are getting out of me on this, because I am not allowing you to occupy any more space in my head, ok?
Thank you, LK.

The problem these days is the quality of politicians, or lack thereof. It’s not just the Tories, the brain drain is evident on the opposite benches.
Gone are the days of Maggie Thatcher and Neil Kinnock locking horns at pmq, we are now bored shitless by the drivel that is on show for all involved.
David Cameron promised a referendum on our EU membership, then disappeared almost without a trace when the people voted to leave.
Theresa May was so soft that she allowed herself to be bullied by a snivelling shit of a speaker of the house.
Boris Johnson is a blithering idiot who couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery, yet was able to host many in parliament during a lockdown.
Liz Truss must have read somewhere that traditional Tories cut taxes. What she has failed to understand that the money to implement this is not here. But never mind, she’ll do it anyway and borrow the money required.
The trouble is the opposition, non have been credible since the grinning monkey Blair stepped down.
Gordon Brown, Blair’s chosen successor tried to buy his way out of the mess he had previously made when he was chancellor. He even sold more than half of our nations gold reserves cheaply in an attempt to balance the books.
Ed Miliband is a proper goofball, labour’s very own version of Boris Johnson. This one was super vindictive, even climbing all over his brother to get to the top. It didn’t last and labour didn’t win a general election during his tenure.
Then, with their next leader, one Jeremy Corbyn, the party lurched decidedly to the left. With the shadow cabinet filled with lackeys and sycophants. He even gave the position of shadow chancellor to a woman who couldn’t do basic arithmetics, mind you he liked her so much that she was his fuck buddy. A champagne socialist, Comrade Corbin had a history of befriending terrorists, with the IRA being his personal favourites. For all his talk about progressive socialism, Corbyn has a personal fortune of at least £4,000,000! He now sits in the House of Commons as an independent, having had the Labour Party whip removed from him.
Now we are blessed with the presence of another leader of the opposition, one Keir Starmer. I haven’t had the chance to analyse this one. A career politician, but almost anonymous, insomuch as nobody had ever heard of him. Judging by what I have seen of him so far, I think he is labour’s version of Theresa May, only more of an old woman.
So there you go, we are stuck with a bunch of idiot Tories, because we haven’t had and haven’t got a credible opposition. Politicians, they don’t inhabit the same world as us mere mortals. They are all the bloody same!
Rant over!!
Women’s football is the future. Any club with the facilities for mens football should put them for use for a woman’s team.
I would even predict that a Scunthorpe United Women’s Football Club would attract bigger gates than the men. It would have to use Glanny Park while the guys are away. Football and extra income every week.
Well.i nailed the 1-1 prediction earkier in this thread but feel a but down as we cant beat another team who are bottom.of the league ala Halifax a week or so back.
Waiting foe the match report n the YT vids to see how we performed.Did you have a bet on that result? Should have been decent odds for that.
Are they listing them by their team numbers? Just a thought…
Mutatis Mutandis?
Changing the things that need changing.“They all come with a plan,
Until they get hit in the face”
Iron MikeWe require a dynamic, inter dimensional, time warping route map plan to steer us to the promised land.
Or the parting of the waves perhaps?
I see gradual improvement. Yes we are leaking goals, and desperately need a new central defender. But in this league we are starting to score goals of our own. Torquay are shit, so we need to beat them.
The manager (interim) and this squad need to just concentrate on the next match, week by week.
I’ll say it again, just like Dorking, I can’t see Torquay beating us. Things might get more difficult after that but we will see if the boys have truly turned the corner then.
UTBI
A game of two half’s huh?
GET IN!
I can’t see us losing this one, especially at home. I’m putting me two bob on Iron 2 – Dorking 1.
